Tonight nine of the 18 qualifiers from the previous heats will face Semi-Final 1 of Lithuania‘s national selection Eurovizijos Atranka 2020. In each semi only four acts will secure a place in the Pabandom iš naujo! final on February 15th. But who should make it to the grand final?
We asked our readers to vote in our poll and the results are now in. Online polls aren’t an exact science at the best of times, but the results are still fun to look at. And tonight THE ROOP is our readers’ favourite with “On Fire”.
Pabandom iš naujo! Eurovizijos atranka 2020
The Roop are back for a second time, after last competing in 2018. Then they came third. According to the band, the name of the song “On Fire” means being in a state of excitement, feeling passionate, engaged and full of energy. “This year’s song is about something I carried within and observed around myself. It’s about writing yourself off too quickly. We are underestimating ourselves too often. We think we don’t meet some standards or that we are uninteresting, too young, too old,” said the group’s frontman Vaidotas Valiukevičius.
Gabrielius came second with our readers. He started his career on Lietuvos Balsas (The Voice of Lithuania). He’s taken the Eurovizijos Atranka plunge on multiple occasions — 2020 will be his fifth try.
“I Find You Here” is in Lithuanian and is quite different to what he usually performs. Music and lyrics were written Gabrielius Vagelis, arrangement by Bjorn Holmesland and mix and master by Snorre Bergerud.

Who are your favourites to qualify tonight in Lithuania? Shout it out below!
The Roop? Are you serious? Lithuania, two years in a row without a final? Well, good for you then.
much better than Spain.. Looks like Lithuania is not planning on not passing to the final.. good, very good..
Is this poll a joke?!
I would be happy with this top 4, but unfortunately Gabrielus is flopping.
I really hope KaYra and Ruta qualify, but I think at least one of them won’t make it, and I also feel that Lithuania will pick ‘On Fire’ for Eurovision which would make me very dissapointed…
it’s pretty clear that Monique would be araound 80-90% lock for the Eurovision grand final. The song, staging, voice is really decent.
The Roop however? Best case scenario 40-50%, most likely even less. It would be a mistake if Lithuania would send the Roop. But hey, Lithuanians have a pretty strange taste, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that would happen. Seems like Lithuania every other year must send some not very good song and leave a better one in Lithuania. That’s a shame.
My favorites are The Roop and KaYra – and from the other semi final it is Monique
The Roop is the first real chance of Winning Eurovision since LT United!
Only in your night dreams.
This made me cringe lol
what are you snorting, Mark.
Good luck to THE ROOP, who have one of my favorite songs this year already!! I’m pretty sure they’ll sail to the final.
Best of luck to everyone in Lithuania this evening. 🙂
That is a very interesting poll result. My favourite is 8th, haha!
Very interesting indeed. The whole semi will be interesting, cause it’s the unpredictable one. Basically every song has some chance to qualify, with only The Roop being a guaranteed finalist (who knows why, but it is so). My favorites are KaYra and Gabrielius, but there are several good songs here, including Viktorija’s.
Omg . Hope Alen Chicco will qualify for Atranka final.
Go Alen!
Gabrielus, KaYra, The Roop and Ruta pls (Maybe Alen)
The Roop On Fire – for the winner.
Yes
I hope THE ROOP will win tonight’s semifinal and will go to Rotterdam. I’d love to see them on big stage in May
Hell no!!
I can’t believe I haven’t heard On Fire until now. What an amazing song! Lithuania could totally get back to the final if they send it!
I love Make Me Human, but I know that Lithuania will send on fire to Eurovision
Unfortunately… With Make me Human they’d end up in top 10 with Fire I don’t think so..
But what if make me human doesn’t qualify? I am worried if it gets lost by more bombastic entries,
The ROOP’s and Gabrielius’ stage presence are just plain weird
Go Gabrielius! Wouldn’t mind seeing this four going through. But we all know Aiste will make it to the final undeservedly.
REALLY hoping for KaYra tonight! Go, go, Alligator!!!
I really like that one too – excellent choreography. 🙂
