Semi-final two of Melodifestivalen 2020 takes place this evening in Gothenburg. Seven acts will perform with the hopes of snatching one of the four places that allow them to advance in the competition. If it were up to you, Anna Bergendahl and Dotter would be going away victorious.

The top two of tonight’s semi-final will head direct to the grand final, with the next pair getting passes to Andra Chansen.

You read the media reviewsheard the snippets and watched the rehearsal clips too. We asked you to vote for your favourites and you made your voices heard.

Anna Bergendahl is your favourite to win semi-final two of Melodifestivalen 2020

If it was up to you, Anna Bergendahl and Dotter would go direkt to the final. Meanwhile, Paul Rey and Klara Hammarström would have to battle it out on Andra Chansen.

After counting a total of 1,250 votes, Anna Bergendahl steamed to victory. She received 510 votes, which is 40.80% of the total. After being a fan favourite last year with “Ashes to Ashes”, y’all are obviously still on the Bergendahl bandwagon for her entry this year, “Kingdom Come”.

Taking second place, and the other direkt till final spot is Dotter. Her entry “Bulletproof” earned 251 votes (20.08%). Dotter failed to qualify at all when she last competed at Melfest, but it seems a lot of you are hoping things go better for the Swedish singer this time around.

Taking your first spot in Andra Chansen is Paul Rey. You awarded the star 194 votes, or 15.52% of the total.

Picking up your final Andra Chansen place is Klara Hammarström. She might be singing a song called “Nobody”, but she’s certainly somebody to you. Klara recieved 163 votes (13.04%).

Unfortunately, that means the other three acts would be sent home if the results were up to you. Méndez  and Alvaro Estrella finished in fifth place with 61 votes (4.88%). This is at odds with Melodifestivalklubben’s audience poll run at last night’s rehearsal. There the duo placed in a solid first place amongst the 697 audience members. It’ll be interesting to see how the final results go tonight.

Sixth place in this poll goes to Linda Bengtzing. Her entry “Alla mina sorger” picked up 52 votes (4.16%).

Jan Johansen has been thrown in the deep end somewhat this week after being brought in to replace Thorsten Flinck. Singing “Miraklernas tid”, he received 19 votes (1.52%).

Poll results: Who should win semi-final 2 of Melodifestivalen 2020 in Gothenburg?

I feel that whoever from today’s SF2 goes to the final and whoever goes to andra will not be the big winner this year.

So.. what can be said about the songs tonight… 😛
…I’ll say that all returning performers had better songs in their previous attempts and that says it all.
Paul Rey’s song is kind of fun as I and people who I watched with started to find out fragments of some well known songs… 😉
It was fun 🙂

Dotter’s staging was interesting and eye-catching… though her previous song “Cry’ was much much better (and should have won btw).

Other thing to say is that this year’s hosts are… not good. Booooring….

I don’t fancy Dotter that much. It’s yet another Sia song, and we had Malou last week that gave us that. It’s a good song but I want it to AC..

I hope the results will be similar to this poll

I’d be very happy with both of them going DtF.

Nevertheless, I THINK it’s going to be Anna and Mendez/Alvaro DtF with Paul Rey and HOPEFULLY Dotter to AC at least. I do like Klara’s song as well.

I think it’s between those 4, but to be honest it’s never really predictable how Sweden will vote. I thought the fangirls were going to carry Felix to the final last week…so we can never be certain.

Indeed! Also, one of the big discrepancies in the wiwi polls and the swedish audience poll involves Mendez. Even in 2018 there was a similar discrepancy. He seems to carry a lot more popular in Sweden than among eurovision fans.

Fangirls did vote for Felix , the other age groups favoured the mamas and Robin I think

I hate to be pessimistic but I think I COULD see Dotter crashing out in the first round. If I had to predict tonight: DTF – Paul Rey (Sweden LOVE vocals, they seem to value this more than anything) and Anna Bergandahl AC – Mendez (seems like an obvious AC, but he went to the final with a worse song, this actually seems thought out so maybe DTF) and Dotter / Klara fighting for 4th. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Ballerina v Bulletproof duel in AC, would make sense and be the ‘close duel’ that we get every… Read more »

I think a lot of the pessimism around Dotter is a result of her last participation in 2018, when she was a favourite to do well but ended in 6th, which I can understand. I for one hope she does better.

And agree 100% I think they would have Malou v Dotter in AC given the similarity of their songs – assuming Dotter goes AC rather than DtF or eliminated.

I hope she does well too. The staging is phenomenal. I would be more than happy for Sweden to send this to ESC, it’s some staging that I do not think we have seen progress beyond a NF before.

Yes, her vocals were significantly better in the rehearsal snippet but I think we scrutinise EXTRA because of last year. I hope she calms her nerves and performs to the best of her ability. Unlike many other entries, I think her failure was just down to a series of obvious factors last year – I hope she does not repeat them.

I know but there is nowhere to hide when u bum a note the way Dotter did a few years back that was just painful. Shame was a good song but she never really had the chops.

I didn’t think her blunder was that bad (especially compared to Mendez’ voice – who I do really like as an artist). However I acknowledge that she doesn’t have a massive fanbase like Mendez does.
