For the past five weeks, the newly slimmed-down and renamed Lithuanian national final Pabandom iš naujo! 2020 has worked it way through three head and two semi-finals. Now eight acts will face this Saturday’s grand final which will decide who will represent Lithuania at Eurovision 2020. But who should win?

The 2020 line-up includes national final regulars giving it another shot and newcomers making their mark. Listen to all the eight competing songs and vote for your favourite. As always, you can vote for as many acts as you like, but you can only vote once — so choose carefully.

Aistė Pilvelytė – “Unbreakable”

Lithuania’s national final queen Aistė Pilvelytė is making her tenth attempt to represent her country at Eurovision. As her song suggests, her “unbreakable” spirit may be what is keeping her going.

KaYra – “Alligator”

Newcomer KaYra has won over many fans with her song “Alligator”. The entry combines a contemporary pop track with memorable staging and plenty of quotable song lyrics.

MEANDI – “DRIP”

MEANDI (That’s “Me and I”) are serving 1990s R&B realness with their track “DRIP”. The group’s synthpop track mixes rap and R&B from the past with a modern production.

Monika Marija – “If I Leave”

Last year Monika Marija unexpectedly made it to the grand final with two songs. This year, she’s focused her efforts on just one song, the country-pop track “If I Leave”.

Moniqué – “Make Me Human”

X Factor winner Moniqué has long been on many fans’ wishlists for Eurovision. She’s finally making her national final debut with the synth-pop track “Make Me Human”.

Rūta Loop – “We Came from the Sun”

Rūta Loop has put away her loop pedal and instead brings the edgy pop track “We Came from the Sun”. She creates an ethereal feeling with the staging.

The Backs – “Fully”

Female vocal group The Backs make their national final debut with “Fully”. The four-piece group perform a soothing but emotional ballad “Fully”.

THE ROOP – “On Fire”

Indie band THE ROOP are back for their second national final attempt. With “On Fire”, they have delivered a song with a song sound and striking visuals.

Who should win the grand final of Lithuania’s ‘Pabandom iš naujo! 2020?'”

Monique is the only winner in my eyes. As much as I like The Roop, I don’t see any chances of them qualifying in that crazy semi. But hey, this country is famous for its weird choices, so whatever.

Really? You must have REALLY bad memory..guess which has been the highest ranked song for Lithuania in Eurovision…LT UNITED which was, and odd fun choice. Havent you seen some of the latest winners either? This time , the Roop with the catchy tunes, lyrics and dancing is THE perfect choice but as always, the judges will mess this up and send something worse so we will never have a chance of winning the damn thing

I’m rooting for Monique (“Human” gives me the goosebumps, it has something I couldn’t describe), KaYra (the Rotterdam Ahoy audience would just adore her) and Meandi (a throwback to the 90s that sounds fresh and enjoyable). Lithuania would make a HUGE mistake if the chose Aiste. Her song is just a canned act that seems to be a mosaic made from lyrics of past Eurovision cliche entries (“…like a diamond, in the horizon, unbreakable…” What the heck is that?!!!). The ROOP are trying too hard to present an outstanding act, but the result looks so silly (I don’t think they… Read more »

Silly??? hahahaa its ok grandpa…I get your generation does not understand it….sending crap boring like Monique over and over is why we still never get close to winning. Closest we ever got was LT United …and do you remember if it was a boring song? 😉

Anyone but Aiste. But since Samanta Tina won Supernova this year, Aste winning this national final seems not impossible. They may even get along well in Rotterdam for all we know.

Gabrielius… oh, wait! Well, after all it is a decent final. I would go for THE ROOP or Monique. Probably the first.

For me there’s only one choice – Monique. Make me Human is the best entry in this year’s pre-selection so far, alongside Bulletproof.

i afraid to say my fave but i really want aiste to The Netherlands and yes i’m old schlager maniac. Thanks.
Also i can see winnig Aiste. She’ll be 2nd in televote and 1 or 2nd in jury but the roop will fail in jury also monique will fail in televote it’s my hope.

Lithuanians if you want to qualify, vote for Monique, The Roop or Ruta! Monika would probably score high with the juries (possibly be winning the juries) but the songs is just forgetable tho she’s still getting huge televote so probably she would win if that’s the case.

I’m afraid that Monika Marija could take the trophy as she’s very famous in Lithuania, being winner of Voice of Lithuania and having huge social media following… Unlike The Roop and Ruta. Monique is famous too, but not as much, I think.

we will never learn. Same happened with Fusedmarc, Jurijus. Sounded good in national qualifier but once it got to the big Eurovision stage those songs were really poor and the performances were non existant. Same would happen with the roop I feel. Monique for the win

The Roop… as I enjoy that style of music. But Moniqué, Ruta, and Kayra are great as well. So either of them could win and I’d be okay. Actually any song can win and I’d be okay as I’ll continue to listen to my favs as there’s no need to quit if they don’t win. Nor is there reason to hate the winner, just wish them the best and move on is my motto.

Maybe your country should send such “slices of awesomeness” which has almost zero chance to qualify.

I wouldn’t mind the roop, but if you paid any attention to the Atranka this year it’s clear the jury just doesn’t want the roop out there. They gave them like 45/60 in the semi final and I doubt it’ll change much in the final (they will definitely be behind Monika, Monique and Aiste (ugh)). Even if they obliterate the televote they have little chance sadly. At this point I’m just rooting for Monique as she’s our best second bet.

yes, the juries will put them 4th in the best case for them… although they will definitely win the televote, but their high margin is useless since everything will be transcribed into 12, 10, 8 etc. points
I think it will be a very very close gap between The Roop, Moniqué, MM and Aiste, I am prying for Moniqué though

My Favourite song is Alligator !

But she’s not likely to win
Amongst the song’s with a likelihood to win The Roop is my favourite with On Fire

Monique has a good song , but I don’t really see what makes it as some say ‘ A masterpiece ‘
It’s my Fourth favorite in the final .

This if definitely the strongest NF this year! I would send 6 out of 8, everyone except Aiste and Meandi could win. They all have something going for them. For the winner I really can´t decide between Roop, Ruta and Monique. It´s impossible, I want them all to win and see them at ESC.

Really , the backs with Fully can win ? You just discredited your entire statement with that

The Roop is winning the televote
Monique/Aiste/KaYra will come second

The jury winner might be anyone amongst Aiste , Monika Marija , Monique and The Roop

It is how the combination plays out that’s gonna Decide the winner

If Monique does come atleast 2nd in both the Jury and televote , she should win considering the Jury winner is the one who decides the tiebreak winner

Look, Lithuania has some great songs in their selection this year, and honestly they have one of the strongest NF’s of 2020 and by far their strongest NF ever. However. Moniqué just has that something special. Her song and performance are just too damn good to be left in Lithuania. She really, really, really deserves to perform at Eurovision with that masterpiece and if Lithuania can for only once answer my prayers and pick the right song, I would be ecstatic and I do think that for the first time ever Lithuania could be in my personal top 3, as… Read more »

I think this year we’re going to have a lot of these quirky indie/ pop empowering female songs, we’ve already got ‘Don’t Break Me’ with Australia, and likely Dotter or Anna Bergendahl for Norway if they win, so I have a feeling this trend will continue. I love Monique’s ‘Human’ and I would be happy if it won, but I don’t know if it would stand out if there is a lot of these types of songs. I also love The Roop’s ‘On Fire’. Tbh I think The Roop has the edge because they are so unique, catchy and could… Read more »

it’s a not smart to try to choose looking at competition in Eurovision(especially when there is only like 15% acts chosen at this moment). You choose the best song available. That’s Monique.

Moniqué should win this entire thing, it’s the song with the best message, it’s the most beautiful and can even score well with the juries, I cannot predict in which place it would end up in Eurovision but at least is going to be higher than their last entry for sure. My favorite is Ruta Loop but I know she won’t win 🙁

The Roop would be fantastic, they are quirky with a song that isn’t just pure silly – it’s well constructed and very funky. Don’t dismiss the ESC fans, plenty still desire for these kinds of quirky Euro ethni-pop type songs, it will be much needed amongst a sea of serious ballads and edgy indie songs.
