“It is about the challenges we face in our life and how we find the strength to continue.” That’s how VICTORIA — Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2020 singer — describes her song and music video.

The highly-anticipated release will happen on March 7 during BNT’s Saturday morning show “Denyat zapochva s Georgi Lubenov”.

Bulgaria’s team tell us that Victoria co-directed the video alongside the Bulgarian director and screenwriter Viktoria Karakoleva, who is part of the production company Four Elementz. Rosen Savkov from Four Elementz served as director of photography and executive producer.

VICTORIA’s #Eurovision song and music video will debut on March 7 ?? VICTORIA says: “The story of the song and the video is really close to me. It is about the challenges we face in our life and how we find the strength to continue.” Genove Christova from Ligna Studio says: “It wasn’t easy for us to choose the song but we are really happy a lot of people believed in it. Our team reached a consensus about the song and Victoria was really happy about that. The slogan #OpenUp works really well for this project because our message aims to inspire the young people who often face difficulties in their daily life.” #esc2020 #eurovision2020 #eurovisionsongcontest @victoriageorgievaofficial

VICTORIA’s Eurovision 2020 music video

Genove Christova from Ligna Studio — the label behind VICTORIA and Bulgaria’s Eurovision participation — says the song and video fit with this year’s Eurovision theme.

“It wasn’t easy for us to choose the song but we are really happy a lot of people believed in it. Our team reached a consensus about the song and Victoria was really happy about that. The slogan Open Up works really well for this project because our message aims to inspire the young people who often face difficulties in their daily life.”

Apparently the video was filmed with the latest camera technology — something called ARRI ALEXA Mini LF. And get this: they did it in one shot!

Viktoria Karakoleva, co-director of the video, says: “We decided to use the one shot film technique in order to allow the viewers to connect with VICTORIA and her emotions. The lack of editing allows them to experience the real feeling of the song. The video shows VICTORIA’s inner world and the elements of nature illustrate the turmoil inside her.”

Are you excited to watch the video? Do you think she will lean Billie Eilish? And are you ready to Open Up to your emotions? Shout out your thoughts down below!

Belgium’s entry sounds nothing like a Billie Eilish song? Unless you mean Billie’s song for the Bond soundtrack, but all Bond songs sound alike though??

It’s really good seeing how involved Victoria is in the creative process, even if she’s not a credited songwriter it seems like she had an actual choice about the song.

Looks like another one in slower pace. Hopefully this will stand out more than Spain or France.

Love the message behind the song. I can’t stress enough Eurovision acts that cheaply include love in each and every word in their lyrics.
