After winning the national final televote and placing second overall in 2019, Maxim Zavidia tries again with “Take control”.
Also competing in the final are fan favorites Dianna Rotaru with “Dale dale” and Valentin Uzun & Irina Kovalsky with “Moldovița”.

Poll: Who should win Moldova’s O melodie pentru Europa 2020?

First off, I would like to thank Moldova for this eclectic NF. For various reasons, it really brought me joy. 🙂
I would pick Alexandru Cibotaru’s song (sadly, he’s the last one in the poll), but I’m also okay with Prison. Speaking of, if that’s the actual running order, I’m surprised they’ve put a hot favorite at number 2. Summer of Love would be my guilty pleasure. The song is very silly, but it’s an earworm.
Some really really good songs. There isn’t one I didn’t like….
yep Natalia is winning but I want Moldovita! After Celentano snub they MUST win!
Like a champion was not in the playlist. That sucks because it’s a good song and I bet a bunch of people didnt vote for it because they didnt realize they hadn’t heard it.
If any of the acts include Filip Kirkorov in the team, that one (unfortuantely) is one step closer to be chosen.
Why Hi Five is so underrated? My winner, they deliver such energy on stage Dianna could never.
But I like Take Control, My Wine and Do It Slow as well.
Moldova had sold itself to Russia, it’s obvious Natalia Gordienko’s “Prison”, written by Filip Kirkorov…this will win. You will see!
The top 3 in this poll is hilarious! Who’s voting for Catarina Sandu, Dianna Rotaru and Valentin Uzun & Irina Kovalsky? They have 0 chances! The battle is between Natalia Gordienko and Pasha Parfeny. Mark my words!
Seems like people forgot about Geta Burlacu who went to Belgrade 2008. She was a jury member who ranked Tamara 1st. Who also participated in her year.
Moldovita or Dale Dale ! Not another generic song in english please.
yeah cause dale dale is not generic
Diana, Natalia or Catarina!
Moldovan people seem to be sooo proud of their wine lmao even in France a music about wine or a music video in a wine cellar would be weird
I really don’t get Eurovision fandom this year…
We’re always complaining that so many countries never send typical entries from their culture (like Sweden, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, …) but for Eastern countries’ national finals, the leading songs in the polls are in spanish (Dale dale for Moldova, or Cherry Red for Romania, or even Chili pepper for Belarus which is in a fuego-style)…
Hope Dianna Rotaru!
Hate to spoil the party, but sad news from Norway: the legendary Jahn Teigen has passed away. If you don’t know who he is, you have not completed your training as a Eurofan. Go watch him perform Mil etter mil in Paris right now.
That’s a huge loss for the contest. “Mil etter mil” is probably the best song that received the famous “nul points”, alongside “En gang i Stockholm” and “Quien Maneja Mi Barca”. Personally I prefer his later ESC entries, “Adieu” & “Do Re Mi”, but of course most Eurovision fans will remember him for that VERY emotional high note.
I’m not crazy about either of those songs, but I’ll say my picks for least-deserved nul points are Finland 1963 and the very recent Black Smoke.
I think ESC 1963 was one of the best ever, but I just never warmed up to Finland’s entry. And they were criminally underrated many many times, in opinion they should’ve already won at least 3 times by now (in 1968 and 1977).
If they sent better entries in weaker years, sure they should’ve. If an entry like Fantasiaa or Elakoon elamaa appeared in any year other than two of the strongest of the ’80s, they would’ve probably at least made a play for the top five.
Someone pointed out on Twitter that his death coincided with one of the few times he won Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix, for which he went to perform “Do Re Mi”.
It was a real redemption arc. Nul points, then bordering the top ten, then a top ten finish on his last appearance. (He should’ve gone back with Optimist in ‘89). But every time he came back, different countries got nul points!
Mil etter mil is my biggest guilty pleasure. I adore how he sings it like Miss Piggy in the middle. Read the book Nul Points by Tim Cook if you can track it down, since it has a funny and insightful interview with Jahn about his Eurovision attempts and role in Norwegian music and comedy.
never thought i’d support a nightmare team song in 2020, but “prison” is VERY promising
I also hate to admit it but yes, this could pass as a competent Eurovision entry from a country other than Moldova.
They seem to actually be a dream team when it comes to Moldova, if not other countries.
I think it’s an underdog support kind of thing, since I don’t mind them helping out a smaller country like Moldova that needs the help. That being said, while I’d feel bad for Natalia if she didn’t go through, I’d love to see the look on Kirkorov’s face if one of his songs didn’t qualify.
I voted Dale Dale by accident; my favourite it’s Moldovita. Very particular song.
Dianna Rotaru’s song disappeared from Spotify does anyone know why or has it on Spotify?
Geta Burlacu is the only decent entry here (but would probably end up like Silvi Vrait). Of course, one can always send something based on hip-shaking.
it’s gotta be dale dale!
do it slow is the only option. I don’t get why it is so underrated
Heard it all before…..
Tears probably the best 1, Dale Dale probably the fan fav.. My Wine is basically Lautar 2.0.. Maybe Die For You?? Not expecting much but Hey Mamma caught me off guard so keeping my mind open…. Sorta.. Good luck Moldova
Tears is very good, that ”edward maya” similar sort of sound
Moldovita is for me a favourite too, love a good ethnic fun bop
and i adore Live Beat love me now 🙂
dale dale is too cheap to come from Moldova, don’t want them ever at cheap pop, more authenticity, ethnic songs from them which i love since hora din moldova
Moldovan entries are like their country; POOR and DATED
No surprise there, next
Get a job. XD
Are Ireland, San Marino, Azerbaijan and Russia going to announce their entries soon or they are waiting the very last day? It’s becoming ridiculous
I think they will announce their entries in March.
Dale dale, por favor !
Moldovita is better.
Im for Dale Dale. But i also like Do it slow, Prison and Die for you. I cant wait to see them all performed with stagings. Good luck Moldova.
Gordienko already won, Kirkorov sponsoring Moldova this year, again
because it is far from certain, we all know Natalia’s live vocals to be not that good
They had it in 2018 and 2016 with already knowing who bought selection, this year they wanted to make internal selection, but changed mind after auditions.
I”m afraid this is real.
It won’t win and I’m probably the only one who’ll say it but still…
Alexandru Cibotaru should win. He has an amazing song.
i am happy he made the final here anyway, good choice in also showing that side of moldovan music 🙂
