The final Super Saturday has arrived.

This evening – March 7 –  the final four national selections of the season conclude. Here are all the details you’ll need to follow the action.

Eurofans can choose between four finals in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Portugal. You’ll be able to follow all the results here on wiwibloggs, on Twitter and on Instagram. Below you’ll find a rundown on what happens when and where you can watch the shows.

March 7: Eurovision 2020 Selection Shows

Denmark’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2020

Grand Final

Time: 20:00CET to 22:00CET

Denmark started the search for a Eurovision act in January, but the ultimate decision will take place in a single night spectacular. Tonight’s ten acts will be whittled down to one winner through two rounds of voting. The first round will see three acts advance to a superfinal based on combined jury and televoting. The jury and televoters will then pick Denmark’s act for Eurovision from the superfinal. Ben & Tan and Jasmin Rose feat. RoxorLoops are the favourites here.

Finland’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2020

Grand Final

Time: 20:00CET to 21:50CET

For the first time since 2017, Finland has returned to an open national final for artists and songs. Six acts will share the stage for Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2020. Just the one round of voting in Finland. Eight international juries from across the continent and Finnish televoters will decide Finland’s act for Eurovision 2020. Erika Vikman is the favourite with fans and the bookies here.

Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2020

Grand Final

Time: 20:00CET to 22:00CET

Six weeks of Swedish spectacle draw to a close in Stockholm tonight. Almost 30,000 fans will be at Friends Arena to watch the 12 Melodifestivalen 2020 finalists in action. As in Finland, international juries will cast their votes and then have those combined with Swedish televoters. At this point Dotter is the frontrunner, but this feels a more fluid Melfest final than in previous years, so keep an eye on The Mamas, Hanna Ferm and Anna Bergendahl.

Portugal’s Festival da Canção 2020

Grand Final

Time: 22:00CET to 00:23CET

Last up on the last Super Saturday of the year is Portugal. The final of Festival da Canção is live from Elvas. Eight acts have made it here from the semi-finals and all will hope to take Portugal back to the Grand Final. To win the Portuguese ticket they’ll need the support of Portuguese televoters and regional jury panels. They’ll decide the outcome 50/50. This appears to be a two horse race, with Bárbara Tinoco just slightly ahead of Elisa on the eve of battle.

Well, thank you to all on this very entertaining Super Saturday.
None of my personal favourites won tonight, but it is not about the winning. It is about enjoying the music. 🙂

I think we know enough participating songs to say Portugal won’t qualify in May even from an open field SF2. Their only chance was to choose an up-tempo song which, if performed well, would have placed Portugal in TOP15. So much for drama. Only Azerbaijan, Malta, North Macedonia, Russia and San Marino left to found out until Monday morning EBU meeting. #EurovisionIsMovingTooFastCannotMissAChance

The juries in Portugal knew who the real winner was…
Anyway I have a new favorite musician, Filipe Sambado

This time I was with the jury and for Sambado to win. I love this song and performance.
So we have another ballad? Eurovision 2020 is balladproof 😉
I like the winner song. The problem for Portugal will be with this decision that the song does not stand out enough, I think.

I also like it, but I don’t see Europe paying much attention to it.

I am glad the juri crowned Sambado and killed chances for Tinoco’s commercial-style song. Elisa winning is a collateral damage.

Beautiful song indeed, but I can’t see this song qualifying in May.

Cause that’s what we need – ANOTHER heartfelt ballad. Last ones to pick don’t care AT ALL about standing out, now do they?
Anyway, same as with Aksel, I really like Elisa’s song, but it’s really overcrowded in the slow tempo department, so some solid ones will have to be sidelined. Too bad.

It seems Sambado will win the jury vote with ease. 12 points from the first 4 regions. But it’s hard to imagine him winning the televote, so being 2nd or 3rd with the juries wouldn’t be a bad deal for the others.

Hosts joking about the fact Finland had songs called “Cicciolina” and “Bananas” on their final. They said they feel bad for the parents that would now have to explain their kids what a Cicciolina is. I wonder if it became slang for something sexual in Portugal.

I understand that some countries’ choices are hard to swallow (I’m looking at you, Estonia), but it’s tiresome that every national final without a clear frontrunner winning leads to these tantrums. I guess most of us “win” just a bunch of national finals each year. Many times, my 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice gets the trophy.

Sabrina

Well, they haven’t toned down the dancers in Passe-Partout, but Bárbara was more focused on acting and way better dressed this time. I still have a huge soft spot for this one, but I think “Movimento” was the best performance again. Would be happy with both, or Kady or Jimmy. Love Elisa, but Portugal needs something to separate themselves from the pack. About Sambado, I feel the song needs more variation, but his presence is great.

Yeah, similar feelings here. Except I find the “Passe-Partout” performance a bit irritating for some reason. Maybe it’s just too showbiz for me, but it should probably win the song contest for the music.

I blame the dancers (not them personally, they’re just doing their job). Maybe if they weren’t that close to Bárbara, if they weren’t that much on the spotlight, it would work much better. I understand why they’re there though. Bárbara is so tiny, a big stage would look empty if she was there alone. But this needs the “Zero Gravity” polishing treatment if you know what I mean.

Probably Barbara Tinoco, but there are many good songs here. Objectively, I’d say Elisa has a beautiful song deserving of victory too, but another good ballad might not make them stand out as much in this particular yearly line-up. I would be quite happy with Movimento, Diz so and Abesonhado.
