We won’t get an official winner of Eurovision 2020. But Dutch TV station OutTV has given us their viewers’ winner — and her name is VICTORIA!

Yup. Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2020 singer has won the day with OutTV, a network which mostly targets gay viewers and which broadcasts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Israel, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, the UK and Spain. The results were announced during The Road to Eurovision 2020, the network’s special show devoted to Eurovision.

“I am really excited that ‘Tears Getting Sober’ won the voting of Out TV,” Victoria said in a statement. “I believe one of the most important things for every song is for it to find its audience. For us the artists Eurovision allows us to connect with our true fans, who will really support us and our music before, during and after the contest. The love I receive every day is overwhelming and I want to thank the Out TV viewers and the jury for believing in me and my song.”

Bulgaria wins OutTV’s ‘The Road to Eurovision 2020’

Bulgaria won both the online vote and also the international jury vote. Jurors included some Eurovision favourites, including ESC 2014 winner Conchita Wurst and 2013 star Krista Siegfrids.

Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears finished second with his 2020 entry “Répondez-moi,” while Daði og Gagnamagnið from Iceland, The Roop from Lithuania and Ben Dolic from Germany rounded out the Top 5.

In recent years OutTV has been a good indicator of who would actually win Eurovision. Its audience poll also chose Duncan Laurence (2019), Netta (2018), Loreen (2012) and Lena (2010).

CEO Marc Putman said: “At OutTV we think it’s important that the creators of this year’s songs still receive the appreciation they deserve, as their songs won’t be used next year. It’s really special to see that so many of our viewers remain so passionate and still voted for their favuorite song.”

Do you think Bulgaria could have won Eurovision 2020? Do you agree with the Top 5 from Road to Rotterdam? Let us know down below!

Personally, as much as I like the song, I think Bulgaria would’ve had a lot of work to do in terms of presentation to make TGS come across as a potential winner. If the contest were still taking place, I’d expect Switzerland to be the favourite right now.

Average, depressing and predictable. I don’t think that this would have won.

So now we know what the queens of OutTV voted for. Somehow I doubt they would have voted for two ballads in the actual Eurovision though.

I’m happy with this top 5 (maybe except for Roxen not being in it).

What a joke, there’s only one winner. Uno (Uno), dos (Dos), cuatro (Cuatro).

YESSS! Our girl won again! I will keep my fingers crossed for her because I want Bulgaria to host ESC in 2022 🙂
OutTV’s TOP 5 this year almost covers my TOP 5. Instead of Iceland, I prefer Malta.

She’s probably more upset that she can’t perform this song next year.

When the UK won way back in 1997 it was sung by an American and nobody here complained. The year before that we were represented by an Australian. I think we should adopt that approach again.

Victoria’s clean and shiny hair betrays the attempted grunge aesthetic of her clothing.

I am not sure anyone going for the grunge look would choose that jacket or those trainers. What makes you think she is going for grunge?

I agree. If people from different nationalities do the work for you then it’s not right to say that Bulgaria won.

The UK have had Americans, Australians over the years. An American won it for the UK back in 97
