Most of us in Europe are in real need of a happy story to lift our lockdown spirits, and to get us through our most extreme form of Post-Eurovision Depression yet. We’re talking Post-Eurovision Not Happening at All Depression!

And now we have it! Today’s happy news is brought to us from Paris, where Madame Monsieur have announced that they will soon become parents. They made their announcement in a stylish Twitter post, showing off Émilie Satt’s small bump as she werks a maternity look.

The pair have cheekily changed their Twitter handle to from “Madame Monsieur” to “Papa Maman” (Dad and Mum). In their Twitter post, the duo also announced the gender of their baby, and it’s a boy!

Madame Monsieur represented France at Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon with their touching entry Mercy, the story of a little girl born on a migrant rescue ship. The pair finished in 13th place, and went on to release plenty of new music and even co-wrote France’s 2019 Eurovision entry, Bilal Hassani’s “Roi”. We’re sure that Baby Madame Monsieur will grow up surrounded by plenty of music.

The pair have stayed in touch with baby Mercy and her family, the inspiration behind their Eurovision entry, even meeting up with her in Italy where she lives. Who knows, maybe Mercy will have a new friend the next time she meets the duo?

Messages of congratulations have already poured in from all over social media from Eurovision fans across the globe. We at Wiwibloggs join the chorus, wishing them all the best and sending our love.
