Sirusho And Alexandra Stan Join Up For Instagram Live Session

One is Armenia’s most successful act at Eurovision. The other is one of Romania’s biggest popstars. And on Monday afternoon, Sirusho and Alexandra Stan are set to come together for a special Instagram live session.

At 16:30 CEST — that’s 17:30 in Romania and 18:30 in Armenia — the two pop icons will go live to share “some good vibes” with their fans.

Sirusho and Alexandra Stan go live on Instagram

Announcing the event on her Instagram, Sirusho writes “I’ve been in touch with some of my international colleagues and we talk about how we work and create music from home”.

The official press release reads:

“During this quarantine lockdown, as days go on, more and more artists are still working, reaching out to their audience and trying to pass them good energy. Despite all challenges, musicians come up with creative approach to do remote collaborations and lift up the spirit of their fans”.

Fans will get the opportunity to ask questions and are promised some fresh news.

The session will be viewable from either either ladies’ Instagram — @sirushoofficial or @alexandrastantheartist.

Sirusho

Sirusho is, of course, Armenia’s most successful Eurovision act. In 2008 she finished fourth with “Qele-Qele”, securing 199 points. The country has only achieved that placing on one other occasion when Aram MP3 finished fourth in 2014 with 174 points.

Since then, Sirusho has continued to be one of Armenia’s biggest music acts. She’s released numerous hit singles including “PreGomesh” and “Huh-Hah”.

Alexandra Stan

While still making hits domestically, Alexandra Stan is probably best known internationally for her 2010 smash “Mr. Saxobeat”. It reached the top ten in multiple markets, including the UK, France and Germany.

Alexandra has long been on fan wishlists to represent Romania at the song contest. However, the closest she’s come to competing thus far was in 2014 when she teased fans about participating in the national final. Ultimately, the rumour went nowhere and Paula Seling and Ovi sang for Romania in Copenhagen.
