He’s the soulful singer who will represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. But before he dives head first into preparations for the next edition of Eurovision, Jeangu Macrooy is busy celebrating and sharing his Eurovision 2020 song “Grow”.
The Suriname-born singer has released two live versions of his gorgeous song. One is an acoustic performance shot at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The iconic venue is considered one of the finest concert halls in the world owing to its superb acoustics. The other version is a full-band live performance recorded at Rotterdam Ahoy, where Eurovision 2020 was meant to take place.
Writing on Twitter, Jeangu made it clear these releases are meant to be a reminder that music helps people celebrate life and one another. He said: “One day we’ll all be together again.”
Jeangu Macrooy Official live acoustic of “Grow”
In the Concertgebouw video, Jeangu stands on stage accompanied by only a pianist. He wears a casual and summery shirt — a laid-back look that contrasts nicely with the ornate surroundings. He is a man of the people, even if surrounded by grandeur. It fits well with his song which is at once polished but so authentic and real.
The video is a one-take wonder. The camera pans around Jeangu during the performance, only turning toward the audience at the very end.
“This is the official live music video for the acoustic version of ‘Grow’,” he wrote on Instagram.
“We recorded and shot this version at one of The Netherlands’ most iconic venues: Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam.”
“The acoustics in this legendary concert hall are unparalleled and performing there is always a magical experience. Wishing you strength and health in these challenging times; there will be better days!”

Wow, I am very excited about this because I have been waiting for this for a long time. But, I am so much busy in my work of dissertation writers service and that’s why I don’t have any idea how I could get this opportunity to buy this song.
Beautiful song and performance !! I hope for a great song too next year !!
I’ve seen it on Jeangu’s Instagram and had to check out if Wiwi had posted about it. So here I’m taking a break on my break on Eurovision related subjects to comment how majestic this performance was. Even his sigh was perfect. Stay safe y’all.
