Alternative Eurovision Programmes

Eurovision 2020 is cancelled. But the spirit of the contest lives on, especially over the next seven days or so, in what would have been the week of the contest. Broadcasters all over Europe are organising their own alternative schedules and replacement shows.

And we’ve gone through the TV guides so you don’t have to! Listed below is all of the alternative Eurovision programming being broadcast throughout Europe and beyond. Given the sheer amount of content, we haven’t been able to provide links. But most broadcasters should have online players. Depending on where you’re trying to watch from, this may be geo-blocked.

These listings, while comprehensive, are not necessarily conclusive. If we are missing a show from your country, please let us know in the comments and we’ll update the post.

Now, dive in and start planning your week’s viewing.

Typically Britain : we are an island, and we don’t want anything to do with Eurovision . (I.e. their latest entry.)

Can’t we move England and Wales to the US? Because the only trustworthy people are the Scottish and North-Irelanders. But time and time again they are overshadowed by English rules. (Why Wales accepts it, It’s a puzzle to me.)

I’d love to see Scotland and Northern Ireland take the place of Britain instead. And sure, England and Wales May also take a place. But I don’t think hey will succeed.

All from Eurovision in Youtube. I’ll try to watch Eurovision 2017 in Bulgaria TV because on Youtube is geoblocked.

Maybe if EBU had told us they would broadcast a eurovision this year but not as a contest, there wouldn’t have too be so many different shows. If all brains had worked together every one of these events could have made one Official Alternative Eurovision.

I don’t expect anything near the 200 million people when there are a lot of minor events going on.
I thought the foundation of Eurovision was unity.

I take what we get and I will watch it. I just wish the EBU had handled this much better in the first place.

Has anyone heard whether the Eurovision Song Celebration will be geoblocked or will American fans be left out as usual? Also, are they playing the full song or just clips?

Toninght in Italy “Best of Eurovision 2016” will be broadcasted on Rai Premium instead of the complete show. Maybe, it will be the same for the other shows.

Thanks! Now I can make a schedule for me and my friends what they can watch here in Belgium! Might have missed some of these otherwise.

What’s kind of annoying is – And I have this problem every year – is that I want to watch the Eurovision Shine A Light show (or the regular Eurovision show in normal years) with various commentary (Flanders’ één, Wallonia’s RTBF, the Netherlands’ NPO, UK’s BBC, France’s France 2, even Italy’s Rai although I don’t speak a word of Italian). But of course it’s all broadcasted at the same time. #Choices 🙂

Do you know if SVT keeps the records of its shows to be seen later? Cause I don’t wanna miss the official celebration show on thursday, but I want to watch Sverige 12:a, too..

They usually can be watched retrospectively. Should be streamable to watch at least for a couple of days after.

Thanks for the compilation. Weren’t Sweden/SVT doing something also? I am not sure if I’ll watch any. I’m tempted just to play all 41 songs on Saturday from 8PM, then decide the winner for myself .

Yes they are. Sveriges 12:a which is mentioned in the article. This Thursday led by Sarah Dawn Finer. It will be as close to a real ESC as possible: 25 acts shown in entirely, commentary booth, juries, tele voting, performance from the Mammas and interval acts:)

A taste of the Eurovision Song Contest: on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this coming week on TVM Although the musical spectacle destined to be staged in Holland has been shelved for this year it has been proposed to be held in Holland next year and Eurovision week can still be enjoyed on the national station. On Tuesday and Thursday, Television Malta is to broadcast a tribute to the singers and their songs that were due to compete during the semi-finals. The transmission will also contain nostalgia of the best Eurovision Song Contest moments for Malta in past years. On Saturday,… Read more »

So it’s not just me then. I know it’s controversial but I’ll be pleased when next Saturday has come and gone. I just want to want to get this horrible time out of the way and start to very slowly think about next year. To all of you negative people out there yes it will definitely go ahead. Maybe not with all the usual crowds but certainly in some competitive format.

Actually is there is a vaccine until May 2021 so I’m sure that it will go ahead as usual in ahoy rotterdam with pre parties, eurovillage, red carpet and audience in the arena. Let’s cross fingers for it
