We’re all suffering from Post Eurovision Depression, but thankfully a new Eurovision game has emerged. FantESCy — see what they did there? — is a smartphone game for all Eurovision fans. In the game you compete against your fellow fans by voting for your favourite acts and predicting the winner of a selected edition of Eurovision.

How does the game work?

FantESCy simulates the actual editions of the Eurovision Song Contest. Every month a new edition will be chosen by means of an online vote. In the semi-final, every player rates all entries. The player also predicts which countries will qualify for the Grand Final. Points will be earned by correctly predicting the qualifiers.

In the final, the player must also make a strategic choice by assembling a Green Room of the ten countries they think will make the top 10. The higher these ten countries finish, the more points the player earns.

Rankings are available worldwide, by country and in different groups. There’s a possibility to create groups of your friends and family. Within the groups, the players have the opportunity to compare individual voting behaviour.

About FantESCy

But there’s more! Entries from the past pop up in the app daily under various themes. The game can be played all year round, because every month a new Eurovision edition will be chosen.

The first FantESCy edition is dedicated to Eurovision 2020. The deadline to participate in this edition was Tuesday 19 May. Stay tuned for the results!

The results of every edition will be published on YouTube every month during two live shows — one for the semi-finals and one for the final.

FantESCy is available now for Android and iPhone. Please note: FantESCy is an independent project created by a Eurovision fan with no association with Wiwibloggs. We share his initiative in celebration of creativity!

FantESCy is free to download. You can watch all the videos, play the Semi-Finals, create groups and play against friends. Playing the Grand Final is only accessible for Premium members.

Players who joined FantESCy in the first week after the launch (May 8th – May 17th) have been awarded a Premium membership. Other players can become Premium members by upgrading the app (click on Grand Final in the app when the Grand Final opens).

Once you’re a premium member, you can play the game for free every single month.
Premium membership costs € 2,29, single payment.

Hi Fiore,

Can you contact us (mail / social media) and give us more detailed information about what exactly happens?

Thank you.

I’m going to give this a go. I’m curious. 🙂
I might steal your scoring system though: finally put an end to the discussion with my friends after every ESC edition who had the better prediction. 🙂

Sorry to sound pedantic but surely you must have a contest in the first place to be able to get post eurovision blues. The only positive about the contest being cancelled is that we don’t get the usual withdrawal symptoms. I for one am so pleased that the final date has come and gone. Now we can properly look forward to next year. I was wondering if the artists that are not returning would be given a spot in the final as an interval act. Their songs were given just seconds in this years Shine a Light.

A little off topic, but that’s actually not such a bad idea. Problem would be who you’re going to invite. All of them (at the time some 20 acts) are not feasible. But a few in each semi final would be a nice touch. But it does take away time from the organising broadcasters to showcase the acts of their choosing and their own country.

Sorry but if the national broadcaster doesn’t want to give a second chance to its 2020 artist why should the Dutch broadcaster do it for them ? Also I could already feel the embarrassment (and how these broadcasters would react) when the hosts will have to explain (because they will have to give a reason to that interval act) that some of the artists of 2020 are not competing this year because the broadcasters decided not to give them a second chance… I really don’t think that will happen, that would be similar to say “let’s go guys and let’s… Read more »

I also agree with what you’re saying (except the blaming part). There’s no right or wrong way to approach this, I feel. But inviting an artist from 2020 in a non-competing way doesn’t pull negative focus to the broadcasters who didn’t feel like re-inviting that same artist. To me it’s more a matter of the song rather than the artist, if the song’s good enough to validate a re-entry of the same artist in 2021, they can. If not, well I’m sorry…

Maybe I go a little to far with the blaming part but I really think some broadcasters could take it that way (we already have that kind of reaction each year from broadcasters…). Also if you give a chance to the songs more than to the artists then you have to let all the 41 entries to be performed and not only those from the artists that don’t compete in 2021. So at the end that would be a Europe Shine A Light repeat but this time it will be a 20 seconds live on stage instead of 20 seconds… Read more »

Sorry I won’t waste my time on that. Fans are so predictable that we already know what the results will be and that it will be easy to “win” (not to mention that we already have so many of these fake polls that it’s getting boring to see the same results again and again). So why should we even care ?

Waiting once a month for 10 minutes of fun?
Sounds depressing.

They could at least make it once a week. 😕

Hi Fast Food Music Lover,
I would love to make it once a week, but it takes time to prepare an edition, collecting data, making the movies about the Semi-Finals and the Grand Final to organize it once a week.
For now it’s once a month because it’s also new for me to do all of the preparations. But when it’s become a routine for me, I could organize it more often.
