They’re the Irish pop duo who represented their country at Eurovision 2011 and 2012. John and Edward Grimes — best known as Jedward — recently made an appearance on the UK talk show Loose Women to talk about spending lockdown at their home in Los Angeles, joined by their bestie Tara Reid.

John and Edward and Tara connected to the Loose Women group video chat, along with Tara’s two cute dogs Beso and Bella.

The three first met almost a decade ago, when they were all housemates on Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2011. Since then, they have stayed firm friends, with Tara appearing in Jedward music videos and the Irish twins making cameos alongside Tara in the cult Sharknado film series.

The three are now spending quarantine together, with John and Edward having moved into an apartment in Tara’s building. The Irish twins made the choice to do lockdown in LA, spending time with Tara and her boyfriend — and they’ve even helped out Tara with some housework.

John, Edward and Tara have also been there to support each other through difficult times. Both of their mothers have passed away in recent years, and the three have been there for each other.

Tara also revealed that John and Edward have been keeping busy writing new material.

While the video link had a few technical issues, Jedward and Tara filmed an extra video for the show. It can be viewed over at the Loose Women website.

Jedward join the #BLM protests

John and Edward have also been getting active. They recently took part in a Black Lives Matter protest in Hollywood, showing their support for the movement. In one video, John can be seen getting right up to the frontline of the protest.

The twins’ actions earned praise from fans, with comments like “So so proud of you for standing up for what is right” and “I really hope you’re so proud of yourselves and living the moment. Using your platform for the good you can”.

The pair’s activism has been covered by media in both Ireland and the UK, noting the importance of their visibility.

What do you think? Would you like to spend lockdown with Jedward? Should the twins make a third appearance at Eurovision? Tell us your thoughts below.

Would always welcome Jedward back to Eurovision in some format, as another shot for Ireland, a cameo or an interval act. Jedward at Eurovision remind me of happier times.
Well done lads!
