Astrid Dutrénit Eurovision 2021 Executive Producer

Senior Producer Astrid Dutrénit will take over the role of Executive Producer of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. She will work alongside Sietse Bakker, the other Executive Producer of the show.

After working on Eurovision 2020 and successfully producing Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light, Inge van de Weerd decided to take a step back from the contest’s core team, leaving a vacant spot.

Astrid Dutrénit is the Executive Producer of Eurovision 2021

Broadcasters NPO, NOS and AVROTROS have announced that Astrid Dutrénit is taking up that vacant position of Executive Producer of the 2021 contest. Prior to this, she already worked as a member of the Dutch organisation team that worked on Eurovision in Rotterdam.

A French native, Dutrénit has been working at NOS since 2003, mostly as a producer. Throughout her career, she has taken care of large sporting events, such as the 2016 European Athletics Championships and programmes centred around the Tour de France.

Dutrénit already had to come up with innovative ideas in the past, which will obviously be to her benefit while helping to organise next year’s contest. When the European Athletics Championships came to Amsterdam, Dutrénit had to think of several creative solutions to deal with the undersized capacity of the 1928 Olympic Stadium.

About her new role as the Executive Producer at Eurovision, Astrid Dutrénit said to AVROTROS:

“First, I would like to thank the NPO, NOS, AVROTROS and the EBU for the trust they have shown in me. It is a great honour to work on such a large event and to make this a success with an amazing team. Although much has been prepared already, there will be several big challenges for us next year. I will start working with a lot of energy and great enthusiasm with the team!”

Eurovision 2021 core team

Alongside the announcement of Astrid Dutrénit as the new Executive Producer, the organising broadcasters also wrote that most of the core team will carry over from 2020.

As mentioned above, Sietse Bakker will continue to work as an Executive Producer. Emilie Sickinghe and Jessica Stam will return as Deputy Executive Producers.

agree it’ll be the best production after 2016. Especially since they have another year to prepare everything.
