Duncan Laurence is reporting for jury duty…at Junior Songfestival 2020. The Dutch Eurovision 2019 winner will be accompanied by Ronnie Flex and Emma Heesters, two other famous artists in The Netherlands, to judge the final of the Dutch selection process for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Duncan Laurence as a judge

Duncan Laurence is thrilled to be one of the judges: “I am very happy and honoured to be part of the jury for the Junior Eurovision together with Ronnie Flex and Emma Heesters. It is a great stage for the finalists to show the Netherlands what they can do, and I hope that this can be the start of many great musical careers.”

But the experienced musicians on the jury are not the only ones deciding. Voting will also include a special children’s jury and, of course, the people at home, who will cast their votes for their favourite of the four finalists hoping to compete at JESC 2020 in Poland. The final of JESC 2020 takes place in Warsaw on November 29.

The Dutch national final of JESC will be held in Rotterdam Ahoy, the venue of Eurovision 2021. Due to coronavirus protocol, it will take place without an audience. The show will be hosted by Romy Monteiro and Buddy Vedder.

#esc2021 #esf2020 #ahoy #rotterdamahoy #rotterdammakeithappen #eurovision #songfestival

The Netherlands at Junior Eurovision

The Netherlands has been participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception in 2003. The Netherlands has now participated 17 times, making it the record holder for most participations alongside Belarus. The Netherlands took the trophy home once — in 2009 when Ralf Mackenbach won over Europe with “Click Clack”.

Last year in Poland, The Netherlands placed fourth thanks to Matheu Hinzen and his song “Dans Met Jou“.
