Let there be no doubt: Drag Race Holland is about to turn up the heat!
On Tuesday producers behind the Dutch spin-off ru-vealed the glittering panel of guest judges who will take turns sizing up the inaugural batch of queens — and all their leuks, death drops and lip-sync shenanigans. The guest judges include three personalities from the world of Eurovision: NikkieTutorials, Ruth Jacott, and Edsilia Rombley. Yas kween — and queen and queen!
Wow Presents Plus will air the extravaganza from Friday, September 18 — and with subtitles in English, Spanish and Portuguese (our Lisbon-based wiwibloggers are saying hal-lay-loo).
Drag Race Holland: Extended First Look Trailer
The main presenters of the show will be Fred van Leer and fashion designer Nikkie Plessen.
Their skills and abilities make them highly qualified to judge a show that involves talent across make-up, fashion, style, and comedy. Fred is a stylist and television host who has appeared on “Say Yes to the Dress Benelux” and “Holland’s Next Top Model”, while Nikkie is a designer and actor known for appearances in several Dutch soap operas.
Helping them decide who will stay or sashay away will be a rotating cast of guest judges. And this is where our beloved Eurovision stars come into the fold.
Drag Race Holland: The guest judges
NikkieTutorials is best known as a beauty YouTuber with a channel boasting over 13.5 million subscribers. The Dutch make-up Queen also kept us entertained throughout lockdown thanks to her Eurovisioncalls with the Eurovision 2020 acts.
We expect to be seeing a lot more of Nikkie within the Eurovision bubble as Rotterdam 2021 draws ever closer.
Edsilia Rombley was one of the three main hosts for Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light — the EBU’s replacement show for Eurovision 2020 — and will serve as a host of Eurovision 2021. She represented The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest twice. First in 1998 with “Hemel en aarde” when she finished 4th overall. She returned in 2007 with “On Top of the World”, finishing 21st in the biggest Eurovision semi-final to date. Edsilia has already done a major Eurovision presentation job: she regularly hosts Eurovision in Concert together with Cornald Maas.
Finally, Suriname-born Ruth Jacott, 60, will bring her elegance and charm to the main stage. She famously sang for the Netherlands at Eurovision 1993, placing sixth with her song “Vrede” (Peace).
