Festivali i Kenges 59 - FiK 59 - Albania Eurovision 2021

We’ve been living with the names of all 26 Festivali i Këngës 59 acts for just over a week now. And one thing is for certain — the line-up for Albania’s Eurovision 2021 preselection is lit!

So while Tirana gears up to host the iconic national final at some point in December, we want to know which of the artists you are most excited for. Yes, the songs are yet to be released but that hasn’t stopped us from checking out the vast back catalogues of all the competitors.

Who are you most excited for?

Poll: Which Festivali i Këngës 59 act are you the most excited for?

Could it be Anxhela Peristeri? The glamorous popstar boasts an Instagram following above a quarter of a million. The X Factor Greece alum last competed at FiK in 2001, before it was Albania’s Eurovision selection show. Since then, her star has risen steadily, culminating in a Kënga Magjike victory in 2017. She returned in 2019 and placed third.

There are, of course, many familiar faces from recent editions of the festival. Fan favourites from 2019 Era Rusi and Kamela Islamaj return, as do Orgesa Zaimi and Mirud from the year before. The latter has teased a dance song in the vein of Elvana Gjata’s almighty “Me Tana”.

Inis Neziri is said to be coming with a Disney-esque ballad. She last appeared at the 56th edition. In the interim, she has won the prestigious Golden Stag and New Wave competitions in Romania and Russia respectively.

It’s time to vote in our poll! Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. Voting ends just before the 26 competing songs are released — the date is yet to be confirmed at the time of publication.

Inis has an excellent talent, absolutely. I understand why she’s winning the poll.
Festina is also quite well-known, from X-Factor Albania, I think. But that was a while ago now.
Did any bands enter at all? Just wondering.

Inis, Mirud and Wendi have each been my personal FiK winners of their respective years, so I expect this to be an epic showdown.

Inis Neziri. A bit disappointed that she will sing a ballad tho. Yes, I know that her song suits ballads and that she often sings ballad, but I was wishing for an ethnic pop song, like Me Tana.

I hope the best for Albania, but it would be really great, if they would go with something different. They have never sent an ethnic pop song (as far as I know) and a ballad would be kinda repetitive.
Anyway, may the best song win!

Tomorrow I Go and Carry Me In Your Dreams could both be classified as ethnic pop songs from Albania. While not ethnic, It’s All About You is also an incredible pop song.

True, but keep in mind that these are entries from 2005, 2009 and 2010, which is a pretty long time ago… ‘:-)
