Gabrielius Vagelis “My Guy”

The build-up for the second heat of Pabandom Is Naujo! 2021 has been all about The Roop. But they’re only making a guest appearance because they’ve already been guaranteed a spot in the grand final of Lithuania’s selection. However, there are ten other acts battling it out for just five semi-final spots. Let’s see which ones you’re most excited for. And then, take a listen to some of the entries which have been released in recent days.

Pabandom Is Naujo! 2021: Gabrielius Vagelis is your Heat One favourite

We asked you to vote for the Heat Two act which you were most excited for. Online polls aren’t an exact science at the best of times, and in this instance they’re particularly tricky since not all of the entries have been released. Therefore, many readers will have made their decisions based on an artist’s past pedigree.

Nonetheless, the results are still fun to look at. After counting 637 votes, we can reveal that Gabrielius Vagelis is your favourite. The national selection veteran returns with “My Guy”, picking up a healthy 248 votes or 38.93% of all votes cast.

Only one other act managed to score above 100 — Gebrasy. Another familiar face from previous years, Gebrasy secured 138 votes or 21.66% of all votes cast. Only five of the ten acts will progress to the semi-final.

That was awesome! They’re ready to go to Rotterdam. Or even discoteque right at their home, if we have to settle for scenario D.

I managed to watch MGP on a computer and still watch most PIN performances on my phone. So, this semi is indeed better than the first. For me, Gebrasy won this semi by a lot, but I also really liked Gabrielius’ My Guy. I think the hat over his eyes took some immediate connection, but I really like his voice and it’s a really sweet song. There were some ”whatever” songs, but I didn’t actively dislike anything.
The Roop performed excellently!!!! 🙂

I would prefer Sunday Afternoon instead of Norbertas, but I’m happy with the other qualifiers and how they ranked it.

Thanks @Purple Mask and @Sabrina. 🙂 This time, I am very pleased with the results tonight – both in Norway and Lithuania. Raylee and Gebrasy winning is definitely a nice bonus today (it’s an important day for me personally, so this just adds).
Yeah, I liked Sunday’s song more than Norbertas’ as well, but overall it’s a good qualifier list.

I was hoping for Maria in MGP, but I was expecting Raylee to win anyway. And this time she delivered, it was very fun to watch and aesthetically pleasant (one of the many problems I had with “Wild”).

This heat is so much better than the first one. Gebrasy, Gabrielius, Sunday Afternoon and Evita all have songs that could win last week’s show with ease, and maybe there’s another good one in the 4 we still don’t know.

7 songs went by, Gebrasy, Vagelis and Evita haven’t performed yet and this is is already miles and miles better than last week’s show. The draw was really cruel.

Norway was kind enough to wrap things up in time for us to see the final 3 competing acts and The Roop without further confusion. Gebrasy was great.

I like Gebrasy’s song, but that performance was… “bare bones” for me. The production could at least TRY to do something. Sigh, anyhow.

In terms of staging the night was not very inspired. Sunday Afternoon had a cool “shadow dancing” routine (you’ll understand when you watch it, I promise), but that was all. If The Roop gives us the spectacle we’re used to, they’ll stand out even more.

The good news is that Vagelis this time hasn’t done or dressed anything that would take the attention from his song!

Gebrasy is quite good actually i wouldn’t be surprised if he won this semi tbh.

I actually really liked Evita Cololo’s song. I watched some of her previous live performances and they weren’t up to *that* level of vocal but it’s been some time and she might’ve improved. There’s a lot of potential there for me.

Have you heard Norbertas’ song or is it based just on his previous work? I agree, Gabrielius, Gebrasy and Sunday Afternoon should qualify with ease, but this is Lithuania, so you never know.
