The Eurovision 2021 season received a much need kick-start this week when Israel selected Eden Alene’s new song for Rotterdam — “Set Me Free”. This brought the current tally of confirmed acts and songs to two, the other being Albania’s Anxhela Peristeri with “Karma”. She earned the right to sing at Eurovision after winning Festivali i Këngës 59 just before Christmas.
May might still be a long way off, but it only takes two to tango. And what a fierce dance it’s been! We asked y’all to vote for your favourite Eurovision act so far, and 2,196 votes were cast.
Anxhela put in a valiant effort, picking up 824 votes (37.52% of all votes cast). But the Albanian songstress was pipped to the post by the Israeli bop-maker. Eden turned on the heat and scooped up 1,372 votes in the process (62.48% of all votes cast).
