Semi-final one of Melodifestivalen 2021 takes place this evening. Seven acts will perform with the hopes of snatching one of the four places that allow them to advance in the competition. If it were up to you, Kadiatou and Nathalie Brydolf would be going away victorious.
The top two of tonight’s semi-final will head direct to the grand final, with the next pair getting passes to Andra Chansen (second chance).
Kadiatou is your favourite to win semi-final 1 of Melodifestivalen 2021
After counting a total of 1,787 votes, we can reveal that Kadiatou and Nathalie Brydolf are your favourites to take the top two spots in the semi-final and go direkt till final.
Kadiatou was your number one pick, earning 480 votes, which is 26.88% of the total. The Swedish star has the honour of being the first contestant to perform and opening this year’s competition. Instead of fading into the back of people’s memories, it seems that Kadiatou has set the bar high for the rest of the competition with her entry “One Touch”.
Following closely behind is Nathalie Brydolf. She received 429 votes (24.01% of the total recorded). Nathalie is bringing the big ballad of the semi-final with her song “Fingerprints”. Her vocals and simple yet effective staging has resonated with viewers so far. She’s going up against a number of big names, but it seems y’all think she has a chance to shine brighter than them all.
Securing your two spots in andra chansen are Jessica Andersson and Paul Rey.
Jessica finished in third place with 277 votes (15.5%). The Swedish star has already been to Eurovision in 2004 as part of the duo Fame, though our readers are not as sure on her chances this year with her sixth solo entry at Melodifestivalen. Nevertheless, there are still a number of you that want to see Jessica perform “Horizon” again in andra chansen (and perhaps the final).
Fourth place goes to Paul Rey. You awarded his sophomore Melfest song “The Missing Piece” 233 votes (13.04%). Paul had to go through andra chansen upon his debut in the contest last year as well, and if it were up to you then he would be heading there again in 2021.

Unfortunately, that means the other three acts would be sent home if the results were up to you.
Danny Saucedo was one of the acts you were most excited for ahead of this year’s Melodifestivalen. However, the clips of his entry “Dandi Dansa” haven’t quite met that pre-contest level of hype yet. Danny could only manage fifth in this poll, picking up 181 votes (10.13%). The Swedish star finished in the top three with each of his previous three Melfest songs, so a non-qualification in 2021 would definitely be a shock result this evening.
Eurovision 1993 group Arvingarna are in sixth position with “Tänker inte alls gå hem”. You awarded the quartet 104 votes (5.82%). This is the group’s sixth participation at Melfest. Despite their claim that they’re “not going to go home at all”, y’all would send them packing if you had control over the results.
And finally, in seventh place are rock band Lillasyster. Their entry “Pretender” only managed to earn 83 votes (4.64%). Rock can be somewhat of a rarity at Melodifestivalen, but sadly Lillasyster haven’t managed to win over many of you to route for them this evening.
