Benny Cristo Kemama Czech Republic Eurovision 2020

After some light teasing, we finally have a date. Benny Cristo’s song for Eurovision 2021 will be released on Tuesday 16 February. The Czech Republic singer made the announcement via a short video on the ESCZ – Official Instagram page, which he later shared as a story on his own profile.

Benny Cristo will release his Eurovision 2021 entry on Tuesday 16 February

“The music video for the Czech Republic’s Eurovision song is practically done”, says Benny. “You’ll be able to see it on 16 February at 7pm on mine and on Eurovision channel. The song was produced by Filip Vlček who is also going to be performing with me as a vocalist in this year’s Eurovision. The song still doesn’t have a name, so it will be a surprise”.

However, you can hear a teeny-tiny portion of the song right now. A small snippet was played during a Czech news report on Thursday.

Earlier in February, Benny dropped a couple of hints about the entry during an Instagram live session. He teased the song with three words: Desire, energy and Netlix-and-chill. While fans are not yet sure what this suggests, we can definitely say that this already sounds interesting. They also dropped the hint that the track will be uptempo and  has nothing to do with Benny’s song from 2020 “Kemama”. We also got the news that the song will be in English with one line in Czech as Benny wants to celebrate the Czech language.

Back in January, the new Czech Head of Delegation Kryštof Šámal revealed that the team considered a few songs. But they had “one strong favourite”. Benny later explained that he had produced and submitted three different tracks. Later, a jury decided behind closed doors that “Song number 3” deserved the ticket to Eurovision.

Are you excited to hear Benny’s song for 2021? Do you expect big things? Let us know below.

I’m excited for this reveal! I enjoyed Kemama last year (well before the revamps at least) and I think he can bring something great to the contest this year as well 🙂

Benny Cristo is such a cool guy! I ike him! You can hear a little of music during his announcement and it’s the music of his eurovision song, it’s an uptempo song it seems, a little funky, it’s promising but still hard to judge. Good luck Benny !
