Hurricane will represent Serbia at Eurovision 2021 with "Loco Loco".

Slowly but surely the playlist for Rotterdam is taking shape. Back to slay another day at Eurovision 2021 is Serbia’s hottest girl group Hurricane. The group — that’s Sanja Vučić, Ivana Nikolić and Ksenija Knežević —have confirmed they will sing “Loco Loco” at Eurovision following what appeared to be an accidental leak on Instagram.

Hurricane will sing “Loco Loco” for Serbia at Eurovision 2021

On Monday, rumours began circulating on social media that they’d sing “Loco Loco” — that’s crazy times two in Spanish — after a video on the group’s Instagram Stories showed them working in the studio. A brief frame showed the singers reading from a lyric sheet with the title “Loco Loco” written clearly across the top.

Shortly afterwards, the official Eurovision Twitter account tweeted: “Looks like we’re gonna be getting ‘Loco Loco’ with Hurricane”. It seems that rather than trying to hide the accidental leak, they’re capitalising on the moment to announce the track and strum up hype for the song’s eventual release.

The new song is produced by Nemanja Antonić and Darko Dimitrov, with lyrics from Hurricane member and Eurovision veteran Sanja Vučić. Antonić is one of the writers behind Hurricane’s Eurovision 2020 entry “Hasta la Vista” — which they were set to sing in Rotterdam before the contest’s cancellation. Now the trio will return to take the world by storm with another Spanish-titled track. We’re yet to hear it, but we’re pumped to learn more. Do we sense a bop incoming?

As a Serb i’m so scared. I just want to see them breaking the Serbian curse of being eliminated every four years (2009, 2013, 2017).

Serbian national broadcaster has announced that we will hear the song and see the video at the very beginning of March and that it is an even bigger hit than Hasta la Vista

I’m not sure about the the title of the song “loco loco” it can be a great masterpiece and at the same time a big trashy song… I just hope that they will singing it in serbian but the title seems like it is more kompatible with english. Let us wait and see… I will not make the same failure like last year where my expectations was big and than came “hasta la vista” which was not my cup of tea 🙁 But I’m sure the girls know what they do 😉

I found Hssta La Vista to be just a bit hysterical. “Loco loco” sounds even more hysterical. But I always hope for the best, so prove me wrong!

Hoping it’s the same bop as Favorito! In my opinion, it’s their best produced song! Really exited to hear the song! Their recent songs have been bops as well! Love you Queens! <3

Please, elaborate. It’s really easy to leave such sexist comment without an explanation that would support it. I wonder how bad one’s life should be to criticize someone based on how they look. We live in the 21st century and everyone has the right to be what they want and to do whatever they want with their bodies. It is their life and they do it because it makes them happier. You should also do something that makes you happier, because this comment is scandalous.

You do not have the right to just state your opinion. Instead, you are entitled to state your opinion and reason such scandalous and sexist stance. Then, if it is offensive, it should be removed and you should be banned from the website that talks about Eurovision and supports diversity. From your last sentence I see that you suffer from xenophobia. Why do I need to be Serbian to stand for women’s freedom in the male-dominated society? As far as I know, Serbian women are still women. They are certainly not objects that you can talk about in such primitive… Read more »

Among other things, that sexist guy states: “or you are SIMPLY Serbian.” Therefore, he assumes that only Serbian people can defend these (Serbian) women, which is a clear indication of his hatred toward this nation.

Yes, sadly you have the right to be a misogynistic arsehole and be vocal about it… Luckily, we also have the right to remind you of how unfortunate and undesirable you are as a being 🙂

I mean, technically, Hurricane aren’t having to appeal to a Serbian jury or televoting public so they could be a bit riskier and make something that can be exclusively internationally-friendly? They look great, dance great and have some real vocal ability in places. With the right song, they really do have all the tools needed for a great Eurovision entry and result.
I really wish I knew when this song was coming out!

On the RTS official site Darko Dimitrov said that the song is modern, radio friendly and ready for clubs. Also he said that Nemanja wrote “eurovision elements” which means we might be getting a bit of ethno flare in a modern club song.
Also, he said that the stress is on singing and dancing so it can go well for both juries and audience.
We are waiting for a banger, dear all! I’m excited!

Appropriation usually requires an element of racism and lack of regard for purpose- i.e. a privileged culture adopting an aesthetic from an oppressed culture just because it looks cool and not appreciating the meaning of it – like when Non First Nations people wear feather headdresses at music festivals even when they’re not Native American because it looks cool and not appreciating the significance of those headdresses to First Nations People. Borrowing a couple of words from languages here and there isn’t appropriation, especially when they’re using it in the context of what the word actually means. Loco in particular… Read more »

“Loco Loco has been being prepared in the studio since last year, and the final details are being worked on by this year’s author duo Nemanja Antoni? and Darko Dimitrov. Sanja Vu?i?, like last year, is the author of the text. One of the most famous music producers from this area, Darko Dimitov, joined the Serbian team. At the beginning of the conversation for RTS, he said “we want to achieve first place”. Darko says that “the concept we are presenting to Europe this year is a Eurovision song, but not only that – the song is club and modern,… Read more »
