The temperature is rising on Eurovision 2021 as “El Diablo” steps into the frame. On Wednesday, February 24 — that’s tomorrow — Elena Tsagrinou will share her official music video for the song contest in Rotterdam.
The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation and Panik Records have teased the release with stunning cover art, which shows Elena in devilishly good form. She dons a red dress, but this is no ordinary Lady in Red. She’s more fashion-forward with a gown that hangs from two oversized shoulder panels, which cut to a deep V below her cleavage. Unfazed by the hype and poised to unleash that voice, she stares straight at the camera with her golden tresses pulled back to show-off all of her face — from smooth forehead to finely sculpted eyebrows to perfect pout. Overall, it’s a confident look that says I am here, suggesting she’s ready to battle the devil — and whatever else life may throw her way.
Elena Tsagrinou’s “El Diablo” video premiere
The video will premiere on Wednesday February 24th on Happy Hour — the afternoon show of CyBC1. It airs daily at 3.30pm CET. The show is also available via ΡΙΚ SAT.
From 5pm CET on the same day until the night of Saturday February 27th, the music video will be exclusively available on Panik’s website, www.panikmusic.gr, as well as on the app for Panik Music available for both iOS and Android platforms.
“El Diablo” will be released on all digital platforms on Sunday February 28th. On the same day at 6pm CET the music video will premiere on Panik Record’s Official YouTube Channel.
As you can hear in the brief teaser below, it will feature dynamic production with a hint of the weird — adding spice and flavour to what we assume is a modern pop sound.

“El Diablo” was written by songwriters and producers Thomas Stengaard, Jimmy “Joker” Thornfeldt, Laurell Barker and Oxa.
“The music video, directed by George Mpenioudakis, is as modern and dynamic as ‘El Diablo’ with Elena Tsagrinou taking centre stage and accompanied by male dancers,” Elena’s team says. “The fashion creations presented in the video are signed and designed by the internationally acclaimed Greek fashion designer Celia Kritharioti. Chali Jennings, the successful American choreographer, is behind the choreography of the song for the music video.”

For anyone who missed the song, I tried to record it: vimeo*com/516257438 (just replace the star with dot)
Doesn’t work
The verses are on fire, the chorus slaps and is easy to remember, and the end is a bit laughable but in a very good way. This has also a lot of staging potential and appeal. On top of that, it’s not wat Fuego or Replay was. I’m really rooting for this and I do believe that this can get a very respectable result for Cyprus. Congratulations! Elena GOT ME HYPED!
The chorus is extremely catchy! This song is way better than Replay and doesn’t remind at all Fuego. I see this doing very well to be honest.
I just watched the song on RIK TV!
It’s quite interesting! I really like Elena’s energy!
i dont like at all sry. too gaga and too repetitive without a burst moment.!!! too flat for 3minutes repetition..
the video is lit
holy moly guacamole
we hanna hear the song 🙁 please tell us some updates
here is the link to the video “https://panikmusic.gr/eldiablo-kikloforia-video/”
Omg! This is great! Not at all like Replay or Fuego, except maybe in tempo
The chorus is easily the strongest part of the song. It’s great.
ahh any way to watch or listen to it online now?
Only live on Cypriot TV, sorry. But I’m sure someone on youtube will post it soon lmao
haha no worries! Here I am refreshing youtube and google while I am at work (oops)
It’ll be on https://panikmusic.gr/gr/
18:00 (Greece time)
Ok Cyprus!!! This has a lot of potential!!
Yes it’s actually very catchy! Sure surprised most of those who said it would be a copy of Fuego
Awesome track!
Is it just me or has the chorus some Bad Romance vibes? Me likey
I was actually thinking it was very Alejandro, which is not at all a bad thing
This was SO cool and out of the box! Love the dancing with the male group at the end and how down to earth Eleni looks. And that finger devil sign in the ending scene is going viral!
Not me watching 5 full minutes of CyBC’s cooking show waiting for the song premiere
did u finally listen to the song? was it good?
Yes! It’s actually very catchy, not something mind-blowing but definitely fun and danceable, and not similar to Fuego or Replay!
that rollout is completely nonsensical tho. video premiere on wednesday, then exclusively available for four days on panik records’ website, and finally released on digital platforms on sunday ? get outta here with this mess omg we’re in 2021 and panik records still hasn’t figured out that in the streaming era everything has to be released at once
-Interviewer: You sing in your song something like yeah yeah el diablo… What does that mean?
-Elena: YEAH YEAH DEVIL!
If you don’t like any songs released so far, I have a feeling you’re not gonna like any new releases too you negative piece of-

Okay i get the complaints on Cyprus following a formula but wheres the same energy for Albania or Denmark who follow a very specific pattern as well? Where was this energy with Belgium sending moody dark electronic music post Blanche?
Soldiers of Love, Where I Am, Higher Ground, Love is Forever and Yes aren’t part of a cohesive pattern though, nor are the FiK songs, when compared to what Cyprus does. Also the issue is not just similarity, but pseudo-plagiarism – Fuego and Replay are not just in the same genres, they have very similar beats and structures – listen to a mashup of the two and it’ll be very clear. If the same team weren’t behind both songs it would have been even more fishy. That’s where a lot of the critiques stem from, especially when the artists themselves… Read more »
“Pseudo-plagiarism”? Really?
Tons of artists/songwriters have a characteristic sound that uses the same combination of elements.
eg You could instantly hear a song by Billie and realise it’s hers.
I guess you won’t have an issue this time since the songwriters are different?
Just say you don’t like a song, it’s really not that deep…
Albania – 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021 all women singing ballads and high notes with some differences, such as some are more dated than others and some are in albanian and some aren’t, otherwise a very similar pattern.
Are we listening to the same song contest? Denmark and Albania following specific pattern? Agree with Belgium though and they learned it the hard way with consecutive NQ
Denmark and Albania kinda do follow their own pattern, with 2018 being an outlier for both of them. Woman with a belting ballad is kind of a signature sign for most recent Albanian songs. Danish entries are somewhat more diverse in style, but they mostly share an easygoing, positive vibes. None of them comes close to inspiration from each other like Replay does to Fuego, though. But it only one case, so I am ready for El Diablo being something different.
Such a creative cover art wow..
Everyone: hoping for bops and bangers this year!
Cyprus: here, for you, El Diablo!!
Everyone: oh no, another Cyprus bop
By the way, since some of you whipped out your crystal balls to predict that this song will be trash, can I please ask for tomorrow’s Euromillions winning numbers?
They don’t know what the numbers will be…only that they will be the worst ones.
It’s called negative thinking. It’s a poison for the soul.
It reminds me of them idiots sending complaints to Ofcom. If you don’t like it, just change the channel. It’s that simple. If you don’t like it, vote for someone else. It’s that simple.
Or is it just critical thinking? We’ve seen Cyprus giving us this before with Tamta and we know what the package includes: Sex appeal, Pop song with a Spanish word, Swedish songwriters. I mean this is just a disaster coming into flames if CyBC keeps doing this.
In other words: Monotonous
Again I see negative thinking. There’s literally not a single Spanish word in ‘Replay’. Composers Of ‘Fuego’ and ‘Replay’ are different to the ones who created ‘El Diablo’. Hans Zimmer and Frank Farian are both German and they make totally different music. So we shouldn’t necessarily assume that all the Swedish writers make similar sounding songs. Although this year’s Melodifestivalen offerings might make you think that. I’m not ashamed, nor afraid to admit that I am wrong and I might have to do just that later when I hear the song. But please do your research when you’re coming at… Read more »
Totally forgot Tamta’s song didn’t have spanish at all, my mistake.Hans and Frank are both German, so why compare when both have same nationality. Same with Swedish writers. But you can’t argue with these similarities:
Spanish title: 2018, 2021
Female singer (not cypriot): 2018, 2019 & 2021
Swedish songwriters: 2018, 2019 & 2021
Greek singer: 2018, 2019 & 2021
Dancers on stage: 2018, 2019 & 2021
There is a clear pattern and it’s starting to show. We just need to see for tomorrow if there’s more than this.
Spanish title is not a pattern. Something has to happen at least 3 times to constitute a pattern, according to the definition. I’ll give you the rest. Although not sure what is the problem with the female singer and dancers on stage. It’s a show, for crying out loud. And I still don’t understand these xenophobic comments regarding their nationalities. Celine Dion represented Switzerland in 1988 and it wasn’t an issue. So after dissecting your comment, what’s left is Swedish composers. And I agree. Would be nice to hear something created by locals. Pardon my frequent food analogies, but it… Read more »
If Cyprus uses the same stage show concept year after year there’s not much to offer. Just a different dance routine.
Swizerland has had also swiss acts, so they don’t scoop out Canada every year for an artist.
This seems like a shopping list once again from Cyprus, example:
1. Spanish title /Check
2. Can’t be a ballad /Check
3. Have female singer /Check
4. Have dancers on stage /Check
Between 2015 and 2017 Cyprus was represented by men. Why can’t we have three women in a row representing this country?
Of course they can have women representing the country in a row, it’s just that if we compare the three men from 15-17 to the women of 18-19 & 21 we get this:
2015: Ballad
2016: Rock (band, not solo)
2017: Pop
2018: Dance-pop
2019: Dance-pop
2021: Dance-pop
Off topic but Arcade has now crossed 200m spotify streams making it the most streamed esc song ever on the platform
i think it will be a hot bop Cyprus style. The mystery is how good performer Elena is (her name should indicate that she is based on other Helenas lol).
Are we going to see Spain giving it 12pts?
If you mean Foureira and Tsagkrinou both are Greek not Cypriot, actually Foureira is Albanian-Greek
It baffles me how many of you enjoy yet 1001st copy of ‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii, copies of every Ed Sheeran’s song, a copy of Coldplay won 2 years ago, Teflon Bros served us their take on a-ha’s ‘Take On Me’, Blind Channel channelling Linkin Park, but when Cyprus is about to release a song, the same people are very quick to moan, saying it is going to be a Fuego 4.0 or 7.0 or 15.0. Even if, ‘Fuego’ is actually a great track, one of the success stories coming out of ESC, charting in some territories, being heard… Read more »
Blind Channel’s entry seems like a bad example to go for, since Finland last sent a rock band in 2015 (well that was punk, but still).
We have nothing against Elena as a singer, but Cyprus and it’s broadcaster CyBC seems to give us the same present year after year that has just a different bow on top of it.
Why is a bad example? ‘Dark Side’, great and very enjoyable for me as it is, resembles some of the hits made by Linkin Park or P. O. D. There are many similar songs that are great. One of my favourite examples is Czeslaw Niemen’s ‘Dziwny jest ten swiat’ which is clearly inspired by ‘This Is A Man’s World’. However it found a great success around the Europe and became iconic. And what’s wrong with the same present? It’s like grandma giving you a pair of socks every year for Christmas. You might think it’s boring, but you still wear… Read more »
It was a bad example, because all of the complains here that I have read are about how Cyprus has sent in the last four years the same concept; female singer, pop song with spanish title and so on. Where as you compared to Finland with Blind Channel, and we all know Finland hasn’t been sending a rock band year after year. That bread example is good one, where you might enjoy bread as a breakfast day after day, it might get boring even with variations, since it’s just the same food. That’s why some people want to change things… Read more »
Some of the ESC fans are never satisfied. Same thing happened to Catherine The Great. She died trying to mate with a horse because no man was able to satisfy her.
I’m actually looking forward to it, because it seems to be something I can dance to. We need all sorts of songs in ESC. So there’s something for everyone and we have an entertaining show on one Saturday’s night in May.
Are we comparing ESC fans for Catherine the Great who wanted to get f**ked by a horse?? XD
Imagine thinking that every single nu-metal song is somehow related to Linkin Park, as if they’re the only band in this entire world that played that sound.
And your comment is word salad btw (Not right in front of my salad)
I brought Linkin Park And P. O. D. because these are the only bands I could think of as I don’t normally listen to this type of music.
No need to hang on my every word. Don’t let that vein pop.
The way it screams Tamta 2.0
Can we please compare this year artists with previous artists
This is becoming really toxic. Everybody relax and wait till the song gets released omg. It is a song contest there is no need to spread so much negativity.
Everyone’s favorite game: Guessing how an unreleased entry will sound like. Okay, I’ll join! 😉
Instead of guessing will it be good, I’ll try to guess the topic.
Will it be:
A) I am el diablo – A ”seductive boss woman” metaphor
or…
B) You are el diablo – A diss entry to a guy who is bad for her, and she’s getting out of a toxic relationship.
I sense this will likely be about personal empowerment either way. 🙂
Ugh either way so basic. Empowerment type of pop songs already dead by 2017
When I ear “Modern” , it already means really bad like every today’s mainstream pop.
god forbid modern pop in eurovision
What bot discoteque
This looks like a dating website commercial
Oh gosh, that picture is really creepy! She looks strangely anonymous and inanimate in the cover photo. A projection body. A Fuego-Puppet.
It looks really cheap
Honestly lol
Next Fuego by Swedish composers. This made Eurovision bleh. Thanks god for Finland, Ukraine, Lithuania…
Agreed already Tamta or what her name was made me puke…
releasing their entry in february might as well be the riskiest move cyprus’ broadcaster has done in years !
Why?
Because Cyprus doesn’t like taking risks..
How tautological.
Listen this sneak peek of EL DIABLO !!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flnHtDfRUy0
First Language, please. It’s so sad!
Second, No, it’s not!

”Sneak Peek of El Diablo the song that representing Cyprus in Eurovision 2021
All rights and credits goes to their respective owners: Elena Tsangrinoú, Panik Records”
Now, what are you saying my friend???
Tell us!?
See you tomorrow!
Winner vibes lmao
YOU are the idiot here. It’s not fake, it’s from her official Instagram account dumbass. People like you should really be banned form this platform…
So your life is already waisted so you are aware of how that feels and telling to others?
What? I know it’s not fake! I post it!
Elena is very good!
I can’t wait for her song!
You need to be cancelled
There’s something offsetting in this cover photo, can’t think what it is, but it’s something?
Maybe her lip injection?
She looks like an imvu character or a Sim instead of a human.
I think you’re right with that Sim look, that must be it!
If this is good, then I’ll enjoy it! Until then I suspend all jugement. Can’t wait for tmr! 🙂
I think this will suprise us all in a positive way! I am very excited
Shut up with the Fuego 3.0 comments. If Elena delivers a solid song, who cares if it has Latin influences? Cyprus knows what they’re doing.
Someone said that! Damn, these days Eurofans are drinking venom for breakfast. Adding lunch and dinner as well.
Say it LOUDER
No no no. That was Raylee’s song before Wild, i mean Fuego 3.0 ?
What? You mean 4.0 i guess… Fuego, She Got Me (2.0), Wild (3.0) and now… Well i prefer a Mediterranean country to have that style of song at least as it feels more obvious. Cant wait to hear it 🙂
It definitely had the Fuego vibe. Everyone pointed out it was the male version of Fuego – where were you for not having seen that? Great song and great performance nontheless 🙂
Ok but that photo looks sickening, I’m still rooting for her
Cyprus singer next year: Elenita
Song: Infierno
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!
That made me laugh, but that is so close to reality it’s sad xD
Did I just read Laurell Barker in the songwriting team? Lol…… this is gonna be a bland song
She’s everywhere 😀
ikr… my expectations just went from “hellish bop” to “2017-sounding ava max reject”
And Jimmy Joker Thornfeld, who is a songwriter on half the Melodifestivalen songs this year. Always the same names..
It’s one of those songwriting red flags that tells you to stay out of the water.
Oh Grft, I was looking forward to this.
Cyprus seems to be drinkin same cup of tea every year since Eleni. In 2019 they barely qualified, they literally squeezed to the Final. If this song is similar to Fuego and Replay, it might stay in Semis.
You can’t really blame them with sticking with an (almost) winning formula though: they got their best result ever with Fuego and when they tried something slightly different for last year, it was panned.
They did that themselves though. Apparently running was originally written as a ballad but they turned it into an unnatural uptempo song because there already were a lot of ballads that year.
“Winning formula” worked only once tho, considering that Tamta qualified as 9th and ended up 13th.
13/41 is not a bad result at all.
Yeah I agree and say that for Keiino too
Tamta, as much as I admire her as an artist, was wooden on the stage and her looks were off-putting. I think that was the problem, because the song was good. It’s still on my playlist and I listen to it regularly.
Well Sweeden is serving the same cup of tea for years and I don’t see anyone complaining.
What’s the similarity in move and if i were sorry?
Fuego 3.0 is coming
Yas more than ready
“Modern and dynamic”. And we end up with a recycled song.
I really hope that she will give us really something different.
I mean Alex P is not there, nor anybody else from the Fuego songwriters if I remember correctly. So there is some hope lol
Alex P. is a legend we don’t deserve.
Wow, an Elena singing for Cyprus a banger with a spanish title on the theme of fire. WHAT AN ORIGINALITY ;p
sorry for calling her Elena (Elena-Eleni is a very common name in Greece and Cyprus like Elena Paparizou)
Really cheap look
im feeling like this is gonna surprise me in a good way
