Last month, VICTORIA presented the six potential tracks on her Eurovision 2021 shortlist: “UGLY CRY”, “Imaginary Friend”, “The Funeral Song”, “Growing Up Is Getting Old”, “Phantom Pain” and “Dive Into Unknown”. But she can only choose one song to take with her to Rotterdam on behalf of Bulgaria.

VICTORIA is expected to announce her choice some time in early March. Ahead of the internal selection, we asked our readers to vote for their favourite songs. And the results are in!

“Imaginary Friend” is your favourite song for VICTORIA to sing at Eurovision 2021

We counted a total of 3,378 votes in our poll. And there’s a clear winner. “Imaginary Friend” is your favourite song for VICTORIA to sing for Bulgaria at Eurovision 2021. In our poll, VICTORIA’s pensive ballad about unrequited love picked up a whopping 1,210 votes — that’s 35.82% of all votes cast.

Second place goes to “UGLY CRY”. The poppiest of all six potential Eurovision songs, VICTORIA released this track in November 2020. It’s the only track on the Rotterdam shortlist that doesn’t appear on VICTORIA’s EP a little dramatic. “UGLY CRY” received 828 votes — just under a quarter of all votes cast.

Rounding out the top three is “Growing Up Is Getting Old”. This song was included in Bulgaria’s internal selection process for Eurovision 2020, but ultimately lost out to “Tears Getting Sober”. In our poll, it picked up 438 votes — 12.97% of the total vote.

Further down the list are “Dive Into Unknown”, “The Funeral Song” and “Phantom Pain”.

In February, VICTORIA launched a feedback website for fans to leave comments about her six potential Eurovision songs. This was part of Bulgaria’s internal selection process and will ultimately inform VICTORIA’s song choice for Rotterdam. The site closed on 1 March — meaning a song announcement is imminent. Will VICTORIA’s choice match our poll results? Only time will tell.

Poll results: Which song should VICTORIA sing for Bulgaria at Eurovision 2021?

  1. “Imaginary Friend” – 35.82% (1,210 votes)
  2. “UGLY CRY” – 24.51% (828 votes)
  3. “Growing Up Is Getting Old” – 12.97% (438 votes)
  4. “Dive into Unknown” – 10.86% (367 votes)
  5. “The Funeral Song” – 9.50% (321 votes)
  6. “Phantom Pain” – 6.34% (214 votes)

Total votes: 3,378

I like all of them except Ugly Cry, it’s the worst of all, I don’t understand how is it second… That and Phantom Pain are the worst. The other 3 songs are beautiful, but my two favorite are Imaginary Friend and Growing Up is getting old, it was almost their last year’s entry so it would make sense to send it this time.

I think these songs are all quite weak when compared to last year’s entry. Bulgaria isn’t a sure qualifier for me even anymore.

I am still feeling Phantom Pain. That circular, fuzzy bass line is so intoxicating.

Imaginary friend or Growing up is Getting old with the latter having an edge with me:)

Still think imaginary friend is the wrong choice. It’s the easiest, safest way to go.

Quick update for everyone: Eric Saade is dominating his melodifestivalen competitors in terms of YouTube views and Spotify streams. He’s also been trending number one on YouTube Sweden fir this whole day with no one coming close. This is looking hugely promising buddies.

don’t know why you are getting disliked it just seems people are pissed. I mean my fave is Dotter, but I’d still be very happy if Eric wins (my second) – I think Tusse is quite overrated..

He’s being downvoted because we’re here for VICTORIA, not Eric

Obvious to me why he’s getting down-voted. He’s off topic talking about Melodifestivalen and Eric which is completely unrelated to this post which is about Victoria and which song she will choose for Eurovision to represent Bulgaria!!

Dotter dominated everyone last year in both categories and we saw how that unfolded. Also spotify streams and youtube views are not the best indicator, since international eurofans who are ineligible to vote in melfest contribute to these figures. I think it’s between Tusse and the mamas for the win, with an outside chance of either Eric or Dotter.

Lol it would be funny to add to the collection. In one of the first lines the word “Bible” is mentioned if I remember correctly. Otherwise we also have The Funeral Song of course
