Over the past few weeks, VICTORIA has been asking fans for advice on which song she should take to Eurovision 2021. And it looks like the Bulgarian popstress has already made her decision. VICTORIA will reveal Bulgaria‘s song for Rotterdam in a special presentation on 10 March.

Fan feedback on VICTORIA’s song for Eurovision closed on Monday at 17:00 CET. but just ten minutes later VICTORIA confirmed the song had been chosen.

She wrote: “We have our song for @eurovision 2021. It wasn’t an easy decision to make but my team, @bg_eurovision and I stand by it. I am proud so many of you shared your feedback about the six songs. ”

VICTORIA’s song for Eurovision 2021 has been selected from the five tracks on her debut EP A Little Dramatic and earlier single “Ugly Cry”. All six tracks are well over three minutes long, so the selected track will need to be edited down for a Eurovision version.

Producer Genoveva Christova spoke about the thought that went into the song selection process. She said:

“Together with our partners from the Bulgarian National Television, the Eurovision Bulgaria team and VICTORIA, we have done our best to take into consideration the enormous feedback we received from all over the world. We are happy that so many people expressed their opinion on our potential songs for Rotterdam.

“Today, we had a meeting where we discussed the feedback from Bulgaria2021.com as well as from the focus groups. We believe that we made the best possible choice. We have a long road ahead of us and with the song we chose, VICTORIA will feel most confident and comfortable on the stage in May.”

VICTORIA’s Eurovision song will be revealed on 10 March

VICTORIA will present her song for Eurovision 2021 with a live concert on Wednesday 10 March. The concert will be broadcast on BNT 1 but will also be streamed live on VICTORIA’s YouTube channel. The concert will commence at 21:00 CET.

As well as performing her Eurovision 2021 entry, VICTORIA will also perform the other tracks from A Little Dramatic, and “her biggest hits”.

VICTORIA was internally selected by BNT to represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2020. She would have sung “Tears Getting Sober” in last year’s contest, with the song a hot favourite to win. After Eurovision 2020 was cancelled, VICTORIA was given the return ticket to Rotterdam.

Which song do you think VICTORIA has chosen for Eurovision 2021? Which hits would you like to hear VICTORIA perform in her live concert? Have your say below!

I’m afraid Victoria’s post is suggesting that her and the team DID NOT select Imaginary Friend. It’s by far the best song of the bunch and needs to represent Bulgaria in ESC 2021.

Just because she decides to drag it out as annoyingly as her singing won’t make the songs any better. It’s a sign of weakness, if anything. No suspense at all.

In a Feb 25 tweet, she followed the titles of the songs with a different coloured heart.

Imaginary Friend – Purple
Growin Up Is Getting Old – Green
Dive Into Unknown – Blue
Phantom Pain – White
The Funeral Song – Black
Ugly Cry – Orange

The fact that she’s used the white heart in her tweet confirming a song could mean they’ve chosen “Phantom Pain”. I could be wrong, but something to think about as we wait for the official announcement.

VICTORIA will sing ”imaginary friend”, ”growing up is getting old” or ”the funeral song” at Eurovision! 😉

I have this feeling that it’ll probably be Phantom Pain as she used the white heart emoji, which was the theme color of the music video. She’s given every music video a distinct color.

? ugly cry (orange)
? imaginary friend (purple)
? dive into unknown (blue)
? phantom pain (white)
? the funeral song (black)
? growing up is getting old (green)

Going by the wording of her statement , she has not chosen the songs with the best feedback i.e. Ugly Cry or Imaginary Friend. But I hope I’m wrong.

Why report on every Victoria’s microstep towards choosing the song? Where is the same attention to other contestants? Where was the ‘<insert name> has choose the song, but come again in a few days to hear the decision’ for other contestants? Victoria is getting on my nerves for how much you’re pushing her

How do you equate reporting about an actual snippet (actual new tangible material to see) and about someone telling they have made a decision in their head is beyond me. Maybe there should have been a report ‘Victoria has started to think about which song to choose’ as well

Let’s also look at the same examples on a big longer scale of, let’s say, since the beginning of the year.

  • Tornike: 1 post
  • Hurricane: 2 posts
  • Vasil: 4 posts
  • Natalia: 5 posts
  • Victoria: 15 posts!!

If the song was chosen by those likes, dislikes and comments from their official website, I suppose the entry will most likely be IMAGINARY FRIEND. Also, this song gained the most votes from wiwibloggs’ poll a few days ago.
