The Rotterdam playlist continues to grow. And soon we will be able to add Switzerland’s song into the mix. After a period of silence, SRF have revealed that Gjon’s Tears will reveal his track for Eurovision 2021 on Wednesday 10 March.

The singer himself also celebrated the news on Instagram.
There, he asked fans: “what are you expecting from this new song?”.
SRF have been remained somewhat secretive about their plans for Eurovision 2021. In December 2020, SRF confirmed that Gjon’s Tears had chosen his song — teasing that it would make its premier this Spring. The broadcaster also confirmed that in total, 13 songs from writers and producers across Europe were up for consideration for the Swiss ticket. All of the songs were judged through a two jury selection system: 20 international music experts and 100 Eurovision experts voted and gave feedback about Gjon’s potential songs.

Gjon Muharremaj and his tears were one of the biggest fan favourites of Eurovision 2020. Last year, the Swiss-Albanian superstar was due to sing “Répondez-moi” in Rotterdam. And after topping polls and making waves with the bookmakers, it came as no surprise when SRF once again internally selected Gjon’s Tears to return in 2021. The title, genre and language of his track are yet to be discovered.
Switzerland’s Eurovision 2021 entry will be released on Wednesday 10 March at 4:00 PM CET.
What do you think? Are you excited to hear Gjon’s Tears’ song for Switzerland? Let us know in the comments below.
It is rumored that he will performed a song called “Ground Zero”. As I don’t have any evidence confirming nor denying the rumor, I simpy refuse to make any statement regarding that.
Last year he was my winner, so my expectations are super high – too high maybe, so I try to calm myself down.
I think he has potential to win with so many dance songs this year.
I am very curious to hear the new song for Switzerland and I hope it will be so good as Repondez-moi, wich was and one of my favorites from last year
His song last year was one of my top three favorites and possible contender for winning last year’s Eurovision had it not been cancelled. There is definitely a lot of high expectations and pressure to deliver something just as good or better than respondez moi. Let’s see what he will bring on the 10th. I hope it is not disappointing
his song from last year was probably one of my favorite songs from ESC in general.. so having high hopes!
Me too, no doubt because the fact :
-Israel 1st victory -) 1978, 2d victory -) 1979, 3d victory -) 1998 and 4th victory -) 2018.
so
-Switzerland 1st victory -) 1956, 2d victory -) 1988 and unforntunatly the contest cancelled in 2020 even if the media coverage would have helped the country to win.
The Roop would’ve won for sure. Everyone knows that.
I have high expectations. C’mon Switzerland!
Wonder if the song is called Ainsi Soit Il (Amen) and there’s a gospel choir?!
i hope it wasn’t the same 120 experts that chose germany’s song, otherwise we gon have this boy sing dancing lasha tumbai !
Expecting an epic ballad from Gjon this time! Hope he sticks with French! He presented the jury two versions of 3 songs performed in English and French.
Big challenge to do something as good as last year! Cant wait!
Gjon would’ve battled for the win against The Roop and Victoria. Gjon was by far my favorite last year tho.
Though Gjon was a clear winner for me last year, I’d love to see something different from him. Maybe an upbeat piano thing like “Don’t Stop Me Now” or “Tiny Dancer”. Guess this option will fit him really well. Something not nostalgic or dated, but timeless instead.
Repondez Moi is also timeless.
Absolutely
Repondez-moi was and still is my favourite from last year. I just hope he can deliver something as good or better.
I am nervous for this one….last year was so good.
All in all, Repondez Mai was probably my favourite last year so I’m hyped.
I was rooting for Gjon last year, so I’m praying that his song still reaches (or exceeds!) the level of Repondez-moi!
One of few possible winners!
If this year stays this open we’ll have another very unpredictable edition like 2011. My (hypothetical) bets are on Switzerland, Latvia, the uk and France!
a euphoria can still come thru out of the blue, u never know
Come on, Switzerland! Give us that winning song that we still need! 🙂
Looking forward to his song!!
So, there are only six countries left without any information when their songs will be released:
Belarus, Azerbaijan, Malta, Poland, Georgia and the UK
One of my absolute favourite artists to grace Eurovision, and I am so excited to hear what he will present.
“Repondez-moi” was a masterpiece imo, so my expectations are sky-high:)
same. I’m lowkey expecting to be disappointed simply because my expectations are so high.
Repondez-Moi was indeed a masterpiece, but unlike you, my expectation are low, because with low expectation you get more excited when it is another masterpiece and you get less disappointed when it turns out to be a flop (I hope the situation of flopping won’t be the case tho).
