It’s been a wild ride in the world of Eurovision recently. Earlier this month, Italian superstar Senhit dropped “Adrenalina”, featuring a very special appearance from none other than American rap sensation, “Low” hitmaker Flo Rida. And now, the San Marino Eurovision team have confirmed the news we’ve all been waiting for. If circumstances allow it, Flo Rida will be travelling to Rotterdam to perform on the Eurovision stage.
Flo Rida will travel to Rotterdam “if circumstances allow”
Senhit broke the news in an interview with Eurovision Planet. “If circumstances allow it, of course, Flo Rida will be on the Eurovision stage”, she said. “He heard the song, loved it, and wanted to participate, so I invited him to come to Eurovision.”
This news has been a long time coming for Eurovision fans.
When the Freaky Queen first dropped “Adrenalina”, Flo Rida’s appearance at Rotterdam was still up in the air. On the official list of participants, Senhit appears as a solo artist. And until now, it’s been unclear whether the “Whistle” singer will be making the long trip from the USA to Rotterdam.
“Flo Rida has been a part of the production and is featured in the music video, but it’s yet to be decided if he will take part on stage in Rotterdam”, the team originally said. “The rap part will either way remain.”
Flo Rida’s participation, while intended, is still provisional. If travel restrictions between the USA and Europe continue, the possibility remains that he may not be able to make the trip across the pond. In which case, he may appear via video link, or his verse could be performed by somebody else on stage. Jenny B, anyone?
San Marino at Eurovision 2021
Senhit and Flo Rida’s collaboration on “Adrenalina” sent Eurovision fans into frenzy. Within minutes, bookmakers slashed San Marino’s odds of victory from a massive 299/1 to as short as 28/1.
On her third time representing San Marino at Eurovision, Senhit is hoping to qualify for the final for the first time. In 2011, she represented the nation with her breezy pop-rock ballad “Stand By”, which placed 16th in its semi-final. In 2020, she was set to take “Freaky!” to Rotterdam — but her Eurovision dreams were snatched away when the contest was cancelled in light of COVID-19 restrictions.
Flo Rida is a rapper, singer and songwriter from Carol City, Florida. He found worldwide fame in 2007, with the release of his breakout single “Low”. Since then, Mr. Rida has had a string of chart-topping hits, including “Right Round”, “Whistle” and “Wild Ones”. If he makes it to Rotterdam, he’ll be the first American-born artist to appear at Eurovision since Jimmie Wilson in 2017 — who coincidentally also represented San Marino.
At Eurovision, Senhit and Flo Rida will perform “Adrenalina” in the first half of semi-final two.

“Jenny B, anyone?”
LOL
I know it’s a bit early to raise this obviously controversial question, but… how will the contest be held in 2022 if San Marino were to win in 2021? I mean this seriously, so don’t write “in Valentina Monetta’s back yard.” Does anyone know yet what would actually happen? 🙂
I’m pretty sure that if San Marino wins, Eurovision will be held in Italy since San Marino doesn’t have an indoor arena or stadium that has a 10,000 capacity, not to mention that it’s surrounded by Italy everywhere. With that being said, I think it will be held in Bologna or Rimini in case of a Sanmarinese win. Bologna has a 18,000 capacity indoor arena while Rimini works closely with San Marino when in comes to travel (well, at least that’s what it says on Geography Now).
Since Italy didn’t even host JESC after they won in 2014 I’m not sure if they would host in 2022 for another country. Maybe Germany, UK etc? We will see 😀
Same as with the Australians.. San Marino would have to collaborate with other country/broadcaster but(!)… Actually cities of San Marino and Rimini work as one municipality sharing transport, citizens, education, turism etc… and Rimini has an indoor arena that could host ESC… so probably it’s not the big infrastructural problem, but rather financial (I see no way Italy founds it). Anyway, that will only happen when SanMarino wins wich will not happen ?
Me being the president of San Marino, I would allocate funds to Eurovision immediately lol
I doubt San Marino are capable of holding the contest, and I also highly doubt that RAI would jump in to save them. I imagine it would be the usual bidding process, except with a much wider range. There might not be any interest from other broadcasters at all, considering what a big job it is – the EBU will probably have to pay for most of it themselves, like 2017.
Cascada flopped mainly because the audience could obviously tell that Glorious was copying Euphoria the year before. Cascada would of scored better with a different song. So would of Bonnie Tyler that year too. Senhit is a bop – she is lovely and she is representing an underdog country we would love to see do well. Flo Rida is just a bonus.
I still see Barbara as the most likely to win, but Flo Rida’s presence and support will obviously give a big boost to Senhit’s momentum. I think San Marino and the UK have the better upbeat songs of this year, but I can imagine Destiny being really fun on stage and maybe coming across as more likeable than Senhit or James, partly because she has a youthful warmth that’s vulnerable and charming. Both Senhit and James will need to make their 3 minutes the most fun they can muster. Both will need to make their 3 minutes on stage the… Read more »
All understandable. I don’t know why you were downvoted.
%100 I’ve same thoughts
Americans should be banned in EUROvision.
You do know that the last time Britain won the lead singer was from American, right?
If Katrina had been banned, Ireland would have eight wins now.
Hell no, Mysterious Woman was even worse than Love Shine A Light
Maybe the votes would have skewed to Jalisse and Italy would have never left 🙂
Aww. I was in a bar in Sicily a few years back, asked them to play Jalisse, then the whole bar, all locals, just burst into laughter.
Jokes on you, there’s no nationality or citizenship rule in Eurovision and it’s up to the broadcaster on who gets to compete.
Also, Americans have been competing in Eurovision for the last couple of editions, so you can go screw yourself over that.
Grow a pair and sit down.
Erm, what about Australia, or Israel? Not quite that simple really.
Are you Solo or their friend? You both are just hateful trolls.
In that means , Greece should not bring Katerine Duska in Eurovision, because she was born in Canada
So no Céline Dion with “Ne partez pas sans moi” ?
Flo Rida rap parts add spice to the song. He better be in Rotterdam with Senhit.
I don’t like the fact that for some people it seems that the song will only do well if he is there… I would be perfectly okay with Senhit doing the song by herself – she is an amazing performer and she has the Eurovision stage experience. With this entire “will he be there?” talk… sometimes she gets overlooked ><
In my opinion, she is the one with more star quality and talent anyway. I don’t particularly care about Flo Rida one way or the other.
She is normal not so famous European singer like many other in ESC. But she can sing with international star and this brings something special on stage. Why would someone prefer her singing alone, if she can make something more? Ofc we want Flo Rida there!
The real question is the following: Will Flo Rida’s presence in Rotterdam increase San Marino’s chances of victory?
“Listen up, listen up. It’s me, Flo Rida what you get is what you see. As for Senhit over here, she’s a special VIP. So you better listen carefully…”
Yassss Queen. #JennyB4Adrenelina
This is a truly international song. Representing San Marino, but with Italian and American performers and Swedish song writers.
Maybe they could the Pope in; either as a backing vocalist or dancer
Hahahah great lines there!
I don’t understand why it’s assumed that would mean San Marino will do well/win. If that was the case, wouldn’t every country just hire the biggest pop stars to feauture in their songs?
If this won’t happen the rona’s gonna catch these hands!
It’s funny how this also implies you draw the line at Flo Rida not coming to Eurovision but not everything else like Eurovision being cancelled xD
I’m ready for: “Senhit feat. Flo Rida – “Adrenalina” – San Marino – Eurovision 2021 – Winning performance” 😀
21 place is good for San Marino
People need to listen to Flo Rida’s music again and pay attention to his parts. Because a lot of the community seems to have forgotten how uninteresting his parts in his own songs are. That combined with the fact that it’s been 5 years since he had any real hit means that his name isn’t going to hype the song up that much.
I’m not sure how he could appear by video if Senhit is in Rotterdam. That’s half back-up, and I don’t remember that being an option. I wonder what the plan is for the full back-up.
Valentina’s backyard 2022 is happening y’all!!!!
“ If he makes it to Rotterdam, he’ll be the first American-born artist to appear at Eurovision since Jimmie Wilson in 2017 — who coincidentally also represented San Marino”
what about johnny manuel who represented bulgaria in 2018? wouldn’t he be the most recent american born artist
Yeah two of the members of Equinox were American
One member of The Mamas, who represented Sweden in 2019 along with John, is also American
Two, back then.
Yeah this is false. There are more recent Americans. Americans have won Eurovision also (i.e. Katrina).
true, never heard of that guy before lol
I think fans are overhyping San Marino this year, as usual when huge stars are announced. But as ESC has shown fan base means nothing. Look at Blue, Cascada or Bonnie Tyler. Their hope of old merits didnt work out. I do think same will happen here. Flo Rida hasnt had a hit in Europe in years, and I doubt old merits will help here.
Yes maybe but also for example an 18 place is good for San Marino.
San Marino deserves to be overrated and overhyped this year. No one expected them to deliver a bop, and they did. It’s San Marino we’re talking about here! Let them have their moment and us to enjoying the song. They deserved it. 🙂
@Denis 100% agree! Who can possibly be upset with San Marino doing well?
If your song is good you don’t need a famous artist so why is flo rida in it, i think it is a good song who doesn’t need flo rida to be in it a local rapper could have done it too
So … does a good song automatically turn into a bad one as soon as it features someone famous?
You dont want to see big star in ESC? I want, it is perfect promo for competition. Why many people hate it? Because they say it is competition for boring Idol contestants without chances for success. People need to know, that a big stars want to compete too.
Circumstances will allow it, there’s little doubt about that. According to the handbook, invitations will be issued to participants so they can enter the Netherlands even if the EU travel ban is still in place.
If people from Azerbaijan, Russia or Serbia can enter NL for ESC, so can a person from the US.
Wee yes, San Marino will achieve its best placing since it started participating in Eurovision, but having FloRida by their side will totally push them even higher, we don’t know how higher though
Yes but I just hope that the whole budget will not go in his bank account and that nothing will be left for the show and performance.
I’ll bet it won’t happen haha I don’t know just a feeling
Yaasss!
I won’t accept anyone doing the rap part other than Flo Rida. So this is good news!
How about JennyB
honestly i don’t think he will be able to travel so they will probably do a video link? then again, how montaigne is going to travel from Australia to Europe?
They will both be able to travel. Participants will be issued official invitations that allow entry to NL.
Montaigne also needs an authorisation from AU government, but that is not the case with Flo Rida.
This is why Australia should be out of Eurovision. It’s not in Europe and too far and will never host if winning. Australia is just here for the money and to add another useless 100% english song and UK 12 pts.
Australia gave me 2 of my personal winners (2016 & 2019) and one personal runner-up (2021) in 7 years. I want them to stay forever ^^
Btw, the UK also sends “100% english song”, should they also leave? xD
We only gave UK 12 points once. In 2017. I would imagine the UK delegation being grateful for Australia as we usually give them some televotes too.
I’m prepared to see them 5th in the odds after that announcement
So San Marino has more chances for the win right now
Only in Eurovision is Flo rida still seen as a “global superstar”. When was the last time he was even the slightest relevant? 2015? I’d prefer Senhit to perform without him tbh..
Same !
Well, Senhit’s song is nice without the inclusion of FloRida, but it is not be bad that he will be in Rotterdam with her
he is a global superstar, not extremely relevant in 2021 but you cannot erase years of chart success. even now he has over 19 million listeners on Spotify. Much more relevant than Blue, Engelbert, Bonnie etc.
My point wasn’t to demean his previous songs or achievements, but to point out that he’s just not relevant anymore. He was a global superstar 10 years ago – not so much anymore. The ESC community is acting like Senhit is collaborating with Ariana Grande or BTS when it’s just a rapper who hasn’t been in the spotlight for at least 6 years. Though just in typical ESC fashion – what we find to be modern and fresh is outdated in the rest of the world.
Exactly and that is part of its charm. Eurovision is a bubble, it isn’t cutting edge, yet somehow it has lasted nearly 70 years.
Got to give credit where credit is due, San Marino is really going all in this year.
I think it’s Senhit’s team and not San marino per se.
Money is exactly how Ralph Siegel and Serhat got to represent San Marino multiple times. I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now. Privatized for the people who can afford it…to me, the exact opposite of underdog. I’m sorry, San Marino-lovers.
She is so talented that she does not need him to win. She has actually more chances without him than with him.
Just wanna say that Id love SanMarino winning this year
I’m so rooting for Valentina’s Backyard 2022 now!!! I can’t wait!!!
This is such awesome news! If I can travel to the US for my internship, Flo Rida should definitely be able to travel to Rotterdam for what is his job. <3 <3
I like Flo Rida, moms need to enjoy rap too
Ok, we have a winner now. Where will be next ESC? Ofc people wrote jokes like Valentinas backyard etc, but they can make outside contest to have something new. But it will be in any Italian city with huge arena near San Marino. If Malta wins, it will be complicated too, they have only small theatres I think. Switzerland would be similar winner like Duncan, so I dont think so. Lithuania and Iceland are not so strong this year. Who else? Maybe Italy. It will be very interesting this year. Many great songs. Only Denmark is really bad for me.… Read more »
Malta has the Ta’ Qali Stadium which would have the capacity, but it would require a temporary roof to be built.
I seem to remember in the past when Luxembourg won one year they weren’t able to stage it and UK staged it for them. So for San Marino maybe Italy could hold the finals for them in a nearby city?
Malta used a shipyard when hosted JESC in 2014 just like Denmark did that year with ESC… And that stage was huge and massive, Malta already has experience, they’ve hosted twice JESC and they did it wonderful… They will be good hosts if they win.
Isn’t it unfair for other artists?
Why?
Because Flo Rida is a worldwide famous singer, and his only presence in the song created already so much hype to be considered a potential winner. It’s creating so much fuss, while the entry should be considered in an objective way rather than basing opinions on a name. It’s a good song, but without Flo Rida I don’t think it would be skyrocketing like it’s doing.
Other famous artists have competed (Bonnie Tyler) and done poorly so I don’t think it is unfair
Other artists can also invite worldwide famous stars to perform, noone forbids that 🙂
I love that famous artists enter once in a while and give the contest more credibility. But actually, they’ve got not much to win from it. Blue, Cascada and TaTu basically buried their careers, Bonnie Tyler, Darude and Engelbert Humperdinck couldn’t revive theirs. Patricia Kaas, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Anouk and Arash we’re more or less unaffected.
I think the last big names to profit from it were Ilse de Lange and Katrina and the Waves.
Tatu’s career still needed to begin when they performed at esc.
They were already huge in Eastern Europe for some years and extremely successful in the rest of Europe and the worldfor some months when they performed at ESC.
Yep, they were pretty much at the peak of their career, with ‘All the things she said’ still rotating heavily on most radio stations in western Europe. The hype really was massive back then.
Yes but most of them representated their own country if my country suddenly send an american without having any connection with my country i would be angry
Okay, fair enough
Bonnie Tyler was a disgrace
nah, i wouldn’t say so. i think she did alright – it was just a bit disappointing she didn’t sound anything like the bonnie tyler everybody knew.
engelbert humperdinck otherwise took a very pleasant, classy song and actually slaughtered it with his over-the-top crooning. but since he’s presented himself as a sore loser afterwards, i won’t pity him.
Agree with that, but my worry is that San Marino is right now too overhyped because of him. Senhit can make a great performance anyway, just by herself. I just want them to be acclaimed for what the entry is, in a fair way. But I agree with you, the last time I heard his name I wasn’t even in middle school.
What about Darude in 2018…? And people like Sergey that are massive in bunch of eastern countries. It’s not like other countries couldn’t reach out to him.And even Hooverphonic and Little Big,
This is San Marino we’re talking about. They will always pick someone from overseas to represent them.
Theoretically, every known artist could participate. Why not? The UK could send Adele or Ed Sheeran, Germany Helene Fischer and so on ^^
The other way around would be hilarious XD
I would rather see Jemini back than the awful Adele or Sheeran
woah … dude … really? i mean … yeah, you sure can dislike both of them. but unfavourably compare them to jemini? seriously???
to this day, i’m still feeling actual pain whenever i just read ‘jemini’. even the ‘perfectly sung’ studio version is among the worst three songs i’ve ever listened to.
Don’t people travel between USA and Europe? If he wants, he can make it.
Thunder and lightning, it’s getting exciting!
Please let this happen!
