Tusse Voices Melodifestivalen 2021

He first entered the charts at #8, before rising to #3 a week later. Now, one week after his Melodifestivalen 2021 victory, Tusse has ascended to the top of the Swedish singles chart. In fact, “Voices” hitting #1 is just the tip of the iceberg. The Sverigetopplistan has been overrun with Melfest entries, the top ten alone includes seven songs from the national final.

Tusse goes to #1 with “Voices”

The latest chart update, published on Friday, puts Sweden’s Eurovision 2021 representative at the very top. This is a new peak for “Voices”, which has been a constant presence inside the top ten since its release three weeks ago. Tusse dominated the public vote in the Mello final, so his chart success comes as little surprise.

The next highest entry is the surprise package of Melodifestivalen 2021 — Clara Klingenström with “Behöver inte dig idag”. Clara, who took the scenic route to the final via andra chansen, is at #3. That’s up from #5 last week and #31 the week before.

Eric Saade is the last Melfest act to crack the top five. “Every Minute” is a non-mover at #4. Five more finalists are inside the top ten. From #6 to #10 we have Dotter, Danny Saucedo, Alvaro Estrella, The Mamas and Klara Hammarström. Anton Ewald just misses out at #11. In total, there are 25 entries from Mello 2021 in the top 100.

You can check out the full chart positions of Melodifestivalen 2021 acts below.

His song isn’t something I’d go for, I guess it might do well with jury and public but this isn’t for me.

i wonder how many weeks those songs at the top will last in the sverigetopplistan. last year’s longest-running entrant was p**l r*y’s song with 16 weeks in the top 100, which is quite awful compared to the average longevity of a song. i bet clara’s song will be the most longeve one this year. melfest just doesn’t reflect the public’s taste in music consumption anymore, these songs are all cute for a few weeks.

People who dont follow the music scene in Sweden dont understand that Clara’s song is just as cliche as the other ones. It believe it will not stay longer than the others.

Funny, by saying Melfest doesn’t reflect public’s taste it clearly shows you don¨t know Swedish music industry at all. That is exactly what Swedish music industry is..
Longevity? Well, of course they won’t be for long. Chats are all about who is current.March and April will be Mello songs because they are still relevant. But come May somethig new will come along. That is how pop music works..

just listen to the other songs on sverigetopplistan at any other time of the year and you’ll tell the difference from mediocrityfestivalen’s plastic pop

I listen to them all the time and it’s no dfference. Clara’s song sounds like other Swedish songs. She won¨t stay longer than others.

Every country has the right to flop sometimes.
Sweden has decided to use it this year and that’s OK.

And Sweden is back on sending male artists… 2011, 2013, 2015 to 2019, they got the chance in 2020 of sending a group (females, also), but this year they’re back to their recipe. Basically and statistically, in the last decade Sweden was represented by 8 male solo artists. Do they really dislike female artists? I was just wondering……

even though you’re right, let’s not forget they haven’t sent a really bad song since charlotte perrelli in 2008. and while tusse’s song isn’t great in anyway, it’s still better than most of the songs my country offers.

I think Tusse is going to do very well with the Juries, and depending on running order could do quite well with televotes. I’m predicting top ten.

I still would have loved Every Minute to have gone, the song is pretty good, but it’s a really interesting performance that would have really stood out at Eurovision.

Oh come on. He will be on top10 like Frans and Benjamin and you’ll be mad. Sweden would have to really screw up to not end up in top10. Like he would have to forget lyrics or something

this wouldn’t even finish in the top 10 in a parallel universe. it simply is too weak. on the positive side: that should bring an end to the sweden bashing. and hopefully make sweden send outstanding entries like ‘euphoria’ again.

I thought Benjamin was the favourite to win Melo in 2018, even here on wiwibloggs… though he didn’t exactly do well in the popular vote at Eurovision. Were people mad about Frans winning melo though? I thought his song was universally well liked.

Anyway, I don’t doubt Tusse will qualify to the finals and I suspect he’ll do well with the jury vote. Still uncertain about the popular vote.

over in germany, you still can’t escape ‘if i were sorry’ on the radio. and it’s a really, really rare thing for an esc entry to receive radio rotation in germany. only the common linnets get about as much airplay nowadays, while even ‘euphoria’ isn’t played anymore.

You should have seen the dislike the fans here had for Frans. He was disliked a lot and loved by the Swedes. This is when I noticed that Sweden was disliked in general here. And he actually won more votes from the public than the juries. The fans at wiwibloggs have a short memory.

hmm. well … i can see reasons why he was disliked back then. his appearance was more than slick to say the least.
still his song was pretty good and actually one of these rare growers. also, with the way the home crowd went with his song, it made up for one of the best acts of the evening if not the whole decade.

i think i also remember benjamin ingrosso being hyped by everybody before the contest and being despised by all of wiwibloggs afterwards. but well … eurovision week sure changes a lot of opinions.

No Benjamin was not hyped here at all. The opposite. And after he recieved those low points from the public there have been an ongoing idea here that Sweden riggs the jury results. It is ridiculous. No since Sanna Nielsen Sweden has not been liked by the fans. Some might have Liked Måns Zelmerlöw but I dont think he wasn’t very much liked either.

Frans song was boring to fans. Benjamin was not liked by fans either. Or John. Sweden would end up on the right side of the scoreboard and yada yada. And this year is the same. But it’s unusual for Sweden to do bad with televoters. Benjamin was the exception in my opinion. I can now see why. It was way too clinical and the song perhaps too slick for televoters. But the juries saw something on the other hand. Tusse has more heart and is more a classic eurovision performance. And I see more positive comments than with Benjamin. Mostly… Read more »

I wouldn’t overrate these remarks. Remember the comment section is always the favourite playground for morons of all sorts. But in general, Europe is better than that – just take a look at John Lundvik’s and Cesar Sampson’s results.

Yes that is true. However there are those people that will say it was still a flop since it didn’t do as well as the jury vote, that there is a huge difference between jury and televotes. And that apparently is proof that voters don¨t like Swedish entries..

Helene

Not the voters. We are talking about the general dislike of Sweden among the fans in the wiwiblogs site. The cheering with thumbs up everything someone says something bad about Sweden here. The voting is not mentioned here.

In Sweden we love Mello! And Tusse got his 2nd break through. I can see that the Nordics in general have a special relation to songs coming from their national selections. And that’s important for the artists no matter what will happen in Eurovison. Really no need to sound bitter 😉

who’s to tell who is too entitled to his own opinion? most of those who write (complainingly or not) he’ll finish within the top 10 or even top 5 only bring a single argument for their case: the fact that he’s from sweden. but otherwise, i see barely no one who actually ranks the song anywhere in his or her top 10. outside of the nordic bloc, there won’t be many out there who vote for sweden just because it’s sweden. and from what we have to suppose so far, the nordic countries’ top votes appear to be more likely… Read more »

Now you give us your opinion again. What does anything say about any entrants chances? I hear you don’t like the song. Could someone else possibly have another opinion? How well does the winner of esc match your individual opinion? No one has all answers in advance and we should not pretend like it either.

‘now you give us your opinion again’ well, ignore the final sentence, then. now what do you make of the rest of my comment? don’t you think these facts at least indicate one or two things? and never did i pretend to have a crystal ball – still there are obvious signs sweden *might* *eventually* not end up 5th. whether you like it or not. i have to say i’m becoming really bored by certain people trying to silence others. and when you appear not to have a problem with GojoSatoru’s bold statement, but deem my comment problematic, it’s getting… Read more »

LOL, people being salty over Tusse again and gloating over the “fact” that he won’t do well! What’s new?
Fact is nothing suggest he won’t do well. Because there is no evidence of it. So your “predictions” are useless. All we have to go on are YouTube comments and reactions and those are far more positive. And even those aren’t an indication..

Yes. I’ve seen it too. It really exists far more positive comments about the swedish entry on youtube than here. And more than 850.000 views on the video uploaded from ESC (if I don’t count the 1.3 million from Melodifestivalen) is far more views than I expected. The dislikes probobly come from fans wanting someone else to win..

Honestly, I don’t want anyone else to win (ok, I’d be glad if France won), but I find the Swedish song unusually uninteresting this year. I can believe many people like it and it will most likely reach top 10, all things considered, but Sweden has been sending far better. Again, this is only my impression – good luck to everyone.

Melfest winners and Sweden’s ESC entry always do well at home.
Something I commend them for and wish other countries where the same (UK and Ireland) when it comes to promoting and supporting your country.
(Is James Newman and Lesley Roy even charting in their country?)

Samo

It’s not about “promoting and supporting your country”. Swedes don’t listen to Saade’s song to promote the country.

The key is that Sweden selects their entry via the biggest TV show in the country, where their most popular artists take place. Those people have already been highly successful in Sweden, they were not pulled out of a junkyard just for the sake of having an entry for ESC.

To put it simply, Swedish selection showcases the best of their music, so it’s natural the contestants chart in the country. UK and Ireland usually send leftovers, so they obviously don’t.

Yeah but the point I’m trying to make is that Swede’s get behind their entry. I think it’s important to win over the fans in your own country too, because if you can’t win over your own country, how do you expect to win over Europe (and Australia).
Sweden doesn’t have the strongest entry this year, it’s certainly not a winner, but the fact that it’s #1 in Sweden shows support is there at home.

I am Swedish and it is not really true. Our most cred Indy artists and bands and internationally successful artists don’t participate. Like Veronica Maggio and Zara Larsson and many more. Our most famous band, Kent, in Years of 2000 would never had been participating in Eurovision. But it is true the ones you see in Mello are also famous Here and liked, but it is like they are seen like they have their own kind of music. A few are able to do both : like Ingrosso and Sandman.

Half the participants of ESC this year are EU countries anyway, then a good portion of the other participants are closely linked to the EU anyway. I don’t see the need to promote an “EU agenda”?
Also, there are 27 EU nations…not just Sweden so I do t get why they’d use them as gunea pigs to promote “propaganda?” LOL
