Which Destiny Eurovision song is your favourite?

Following the cancellation of Eurovision last year, the majority of the class of 2020 received the comeback ticket to sing again at Eurovision 2021. A massive 26 artists will return to represent their countries at Eurovision 2021. But as per the standard Eurovision rules, they’ve all got new songs.

Thus, comparisons to their previous entries are inevitable. So, we want to hear from our readers. We’re running a series of polls to ask — do you prefer the returning artists’ 2020 or 2021 songs?

Today, we’re shining a light on Malta. In 2020, Destiny was set to take “All Of My Love” to Rotterdam. This year, she’ll be singing “Je Me Casse” at Eurovision 2021. But which song is your favourite? Vote in our poll now!

Scroll down to vote in our poll.

“All Of My Love” (Malta 2020)

Having won Junior Eurovision in 2015, Destiny was set to appear at Eurovision in 2020. She earned the ticket after winning X Factor Malta. Her entry, “All Of My Love”, was then internally selected. It continued on from the soul-pop Destiny delivered at Junior Eurovision and it showcased her rich vocal talent.

The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — awarded “All Of My Love” an impressive score of 8.1/10 (the second highest score of the year). In his review of the song, wiwiblogger Sebastian said:

“The star of this song is Destiny. You could give the teenage superstar any lemon of a song, and she’ll squeeze every last drop into lemonade. That’s what “All of My Love” is – it’s unique and a new sound in this year of Eurovision, but it would slide into the catalogue of a Sigala or Rudimental album without offering any point of difference. I would have loved to have seen this live on stage, where it would have simply excelled. And that’s because of the song’s big X-factor – Destiny, a future queen of soul.”

“Je Me Casse” (Malta 2021)

Malta made sure to give Destiny her time on the Eurovision stage and internally selected her for the 2021 contest. This year, the Maltese star is singing “Je Me Casse”. A favourite with the bookies, the song has a Charleston/swing feel to it.

The song gets its title from French slang. “Je me casse” — literally meaning “I break” — is a French saying used when making a hasty exit, similar to “I gotta go” or “I’m outta here”.

Poll battle — Malta: Which Destiny song is your favourite?

In this poll, you can only vote for one song — so choose wisely. And as always, you can only vote once. Let the battle commence!

Ok, wasn’t going to comment but was shocked at reading the comments…
Seriously wiwibloggs, why do you allow such bullying on your website?!! Just a few wannabe jury bullies being mean to the singers because they’re not their faves. Like WHY are you even commenting here if you hate the song??? Seriously go play somewhere else and stop being the pathetic keyboard bullies who most probably won’t be able to mention a word if Destiny gets in front of you! Go get a life y’all!!!

Why are people hating Je Me Casse? Like this is a very well produced, extremely catchy and overall very strong package. Also Destiny is 18 years of age and has arguably one of the best voices the contest has ever seen. People are just hating this because it’s the favourite and want an underdog to win, but Malta is an underdog because they have never won. Come on Destiny!!

Why people are hating this ?

1) The singer is really talented , she was forced to sing a song that doesn’t show her entire strength and she had 0 say in the song selection

2) The “shove it in your face ” PR game being played by the Maltese broadcaster

3) The fake views on Youtube

I preferred last years. I don’t like the tesco value style rapping in the 2021 song It just doesn’t suit her. The electo-swing just brings back bad memories of Electro Velvet.
She’s better than this.
Desitny can sing and she deserves a really great song. JMC is not that song.
I know the fandom want a JESC winner to win ESC, But not with this substandard song.

All My Love would of been Malta’s best chance at winning since 7th Wonder.

2021.
For me both song are overrated by betting odds, and some ESC fans.
I don t see Malta as winner of ESC 2021 ( only chance if juries push so hard , like juries pushed Sweden 2012, Sweden 2015 and Australia 2016 to had over 100+ points between first and second place.

Je Me Casse. Her flawless vocals allow her to perform any kind of genre. Don’t understand why it doesn’t suit her and has to be stereotypical ballad singer. Chiara 2005 done that already.

All of my love would have done better and it’s a safer option Je me casse is a risky one, it’s all over the places and if not executed properly it could not even make it to the final. I hope they get the staging right for her.

It was a tough decision ngl but I finally went with Je Me Casse. In recent years I’ve realized that I was never a fan of the song to beat, or generally the oddmakers’ favourite and that didn’t really change this year. Though I absolutely LOVE Switzerland (but let’s not get out of context), Malta is ok. Not the best. Just ok. Last year’s song just wasn’t for me I guess…

Not a huge fan of either as a song. Destiny as a perfomer probably elevates the songs a lot. All of my love was more suited to her voice according to me , hence it’s gotten my vote.

Ready to be downvoted, but for me both songs show the biggest problem with ESC nowadays. The contest turned into Swedish Britain/American styled pop. The national identity is out of trend , so artists prefer mainstream boredom instead of underground sound. Also, it causes lack of genre diversity, the problem which is really actual for Eurovision. We have different races, orientations, sexes. Where are different genres? Why we have 100+ variants of typical pop and only 1-2 songs of another genre every time? Why every time instead of support they are in the bottom of the top? Destiny is a… Read more »

Me too, I liked it better when all Eurovision songs were composed by people from their own representative countries. Now they’ve gotten a lot of Swedish help.

Why can it not be a big folkloric song competition ? I mean there is probably an half-way solution between original version of the ESC with countries singing in their official language and the current version which looks more and more like an International Melodifestival.

How eloquent and well argued, fair play to you. I expressed a similar opinion to an HOD and he more or less shut me up. I don’t think he will be in his job much longer after his country, very sadly and yet again, fails to qualify. I am guessing based on his comments that he had been “offered” Je Me Casse and possibly Adrenalina. I am not trying to be smart, I just love the contest and am upset by what it is becoming. Moreover when the casual viewer on the night thinks these songs are all home-grown.

Both of those songs are great even if I prefer ‘Je Me Casse’ cause Destiny is showing with that song that she’s a versatile interpret who can suits her voice to a different genre of music other than soul and r’n’b. I’m tired of fighting, so I’m not gonna read anything but my comment before leaving this article and not read it anymore. I hope it will be the last article about Malta so far until the reheasals. The country and the song are getting too much hate — often unjustified — and I’m getting tired of it. Gonna spend… Read more »

I just read you question asked of me in the other thread , and here is my response : I don’t have personal contacts in the Maltese delegation or in YouTube , so I can’t give you a receipt of a transaction made by them as proofm I only have precedence , the ESC Youtube channel in its May 2019 ranking of Top 10 watched songs placed Malta much lower than countries who had 2-3 M views lesser than it . That’s precidence of Malta resorting to unfair means with proof. The number of likes/dislikes of a popular music video… Read more »

2021 is good, but it’s not a winner for me, the odds are overhyping it. 2020 however, that was some fine work. “All Of My Love” could have won the competition last year and we could have been off to Valletta this year in a normal world. AOML gives me so much joy, lifts me up, gives me life. Whereas “ Je Me Casse” is good, it does leave me feeling a little empty afterwards., like is that it? I’ve no doubt Destiny will get a top 10 finish, she’s an incredible artist, but she is capable of so much… Read more »

Maybe you and Malta thought it a “masterpiece” which is fine, but just FYI it had been knocking around since 2016 and offered to, but refused, by various delegations.

Both leave me cold. I don’t feel any connection between artist and the 2 songs. It’s factory music. She’s probably a nice girl with great voice. Looking at her clips that also gets confusing. She’s looking for identity.

Same here. Both songs seem… I don’t know… It all seems a bit calculated and IMO you can feel that both songs are written and produced by some people who really tried to produce a particular kind of a song and there’s no soul to it.
