Following the cancellation of Eurovision last year, the majority of the class of 2020 received the comeback ticket to sing again at Eurovision 2021. A massive 26 artists will return to represent their countries at Eurovision 2021. But as per the standard Eurovision rules, they’ve all got new songs.
Thus, comparisons to their previous entries are inevitable. So, we want to hear from our readers. We’re running a series of polls to ask — do you prefer the returning artists’ 2020 or 2021 songs?
Today, we’re shining a light on San Marino. In 2020, Senhit was set to take “Freaky!” to Rotterdam. This year, she’ll be singing “Adrenalina” at Eurovision 2021. But which song is your favourite? Vote in our poll now!

“Freaky!” (San Marino 2020)
Senhit returned to represent San Marino at Eurovision for the second time in 2020. She gave the public a choice between two songs through a digital song battle. In the end, the disco-inspired song “Freaky!” emerged victorious.
The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — awarded “Freaky!” an average score of 5.38/10. In his review of the song, wiwiblogger Oliver R said:
“It is always nice to see a Eurovision participant return to the competition, especially after almost a decade from their last performance. Senhit’s song is an unbelievable contrast from her previous entry, going from a warm, gentle ballad to a whacky, bizarre pop song. While I appreciate the attempt, “Freaky!” seems to be trying a little bit too hard to come across as cool and hip. Furthermore, the composition itself feels underdeveloped in comparison to some of the other entries that were submitted to the competition this year – maybe some fine-tuning of the track could have elevated the number to another level.”
“Adrenalina” (San Marino 2021)
Senhit returns in 2021 with renewed vigour and the spicy pop song “Adrenalina”. The song blends traditional Eritrean instruments with a catchy hook. Upon its release, it had an immediate impact with fans and bookmakers.
However, Senhit may not be alone on stage at Eurovision 2021. “Adrenalina” features a rap verse from American star Flo Rida. Although it’s not yet confirmed if Flo Rida will make the journey to Rotterdam due to travel restrictions, the rapper says “it would be an honour” to perform with Senhit.

Hopefull If San Marino do well it will tell Monaco and Luxembourg who withdrew because they said that micronation have no chance of doing well
In the case San Marino gets a very satisfying result this year (I can see this being Top 5), perhaps it will encourage Italian artists to want to represent the country in Eurovision if they don’t want to compete the very demanding San Remo Festival.
Only if staging would be so kitch and extravangant like Portugal 2019.
2021 much better, but for me this song will be much better without rap part by Flo Rida.

Adrenalina isn’t just Senhit’s best song, it’s San Marino’s best song and one of the best songs in the class of 2021.
Absolute bop that gives me life and will definitely secure San Marino it’s highest ever placing.
I also love the fact that it just came of the nowhere too and just blew everyone away. Nobody was expecting it.
Adrenalina is a lot better but Senhit can do much better than these songs.
I think the best way to guarantee the win for San Marino is to swap Flo Rida with Serhat in Rotterdam!

Look, we all know that sometimes San Marino, as the smallest nation in the contest, gets some ‘pity points’ from all of us. Something like that happened with “Freaky!” and I almost forced myself to like it (I even liked “Obsessed”, the other option of their National Selection, more) But “Adrenalina”… doesn’t need pity points for me to fall in love with it. For me, this is the most one-sided poll of the year. I really didn’t like Freaky, I found its disco-infused cheesiness and dodgy lyrical content really off-putting. Adrenalina is so much better in my opinion, a great slice of pop with some chart-friendly rap thrown in to boot.
It’s not even a competition. Adrenalina is clearly superior.
