OGAE Poll 2021: Albania awards 12 points to Switzerland

The Eurovision fan prediction poll is well underway. The third club to reveal their votes in the OGAE Poll 2021 is OGAE Albania. They award their douze points to Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears — the second gold medal for the “Tout l’universe” singer in this year’s poll.

Second place with the club’s ten voters goes to Lithuania. “Discoteque” picks up ten points from OGAE Albania, pushing The Roop up to second-place overall thus far.

Meanwhile, eight points go to Sweden’s Tusse. Further down the list, Italy and Azerbaijan pick up their first points of the season.

OGAE Poll 2021

Votes from OGAE Albania

  • Switzerland — 12 points
  • Lithuania — 10 points
  • Sweden — 8 points
  • Cyprus — 7 points
  • Azerbaijan — 6 points
  • Malta — 5 points
  • Italy — 4 points
  • France — 3 points
  • San Marino — 2 points
  • Romania — 1 point

OGAE Poll 2021 leaderboard — 15 April

With Albania’s 12 points, Gjon’s Tears leaps into first place overall. The bookies’ favourite Malta’s Destiny slips down to third, with Lithuania’s The Roop currently in silver medal position. But remember, there are still 40 more OGAE clubs yet to deliver their points. So it’s still all to play for!

1. Switzerland — 32 points

2. Lithuania — 27 points

3. Malta — 25 points

4. Sweden — 18 points

(=) Cyprus — 18 points

6. San Marino — 15 points

7. France — 11 points

8. Azerbaijan — 6 points

9. Iceland — 5 points

10. Estonia — 4 points

(=) Italy — 4 points

12. Ukraine — 3 points

13. Romania — 2 points

(=) Greece — 2 points

(=) Israel — 2 points

Countries that are not listed are yet to receive any points from voting clubs.

Between now and Sunday 2 May, half of the groups voting in the OGAE Poll 2021 will reveal their points one by one. Then, the remaining groups will announce their points at the same time on Friday 7 May in a grand final video spectacle.

What do you think? Do you agree with OGAE Albania’s voting? Who are you awarding your douze points to? Let us know in the comments below.

I just don’t think it’s the wiwibloggs team’s fault that some people don’t know how to behave. They could use some moderators though to get rid of some people that obviously just want reactions out of people.

I don’t think Lithuania will win the OGAE poll twice in a row, but it could finish with a decent top 5 placing (3rd-5th to be exact). We’ll have to see how the other clubs will vote.

Oooh …. the girl is mad ? Hahaha

How ironical is it to see the girl that was telling me to get a life actually wasting hers by dedicating her comments in my name. I’m flatrered. Really. Hahaha

You came at me, I came at you, girl. Don’t even wonder why. You were the first to do that. It’s only a natural thing that I come at you when you’re trying me. Now apply what you wrote to me, and get a life babe.

Isn’t the Albanian OGAE another one of the clubs that’s like 10 people sat around around somebody’s coffee table?
I mean, it’s worth reporting on but doesn’t really mean much. 😉

Sounds like a very realistic scenario and taken from real life in my opinion. Does it matter where people are to have the right to vote? Sitting around a coffee table doesn’t make people’s opinion unjustified.

Same story every year!
No, OGAE isn’t a prediction. Because you can’t predict. OGAE is more an indication of how things might go, which songs are the favourites, where the hype is, things like that. Again might is the word here..
It’s just a fun thing to kepp things going until the actual result!

the ogae voting is a poll like many others. Only that it gets more attention than the others. And to hear positive news about gjon almost every day is not the worst. Even if he has a lot of haters on wiwwiblog.

No surprising country in the Albanian vote. That’s interesring.

I also really thought that Italy would receive more points from that branche as the country usually gives most of their top points to Italy. I’m surprised to see that Måneskin only got 4 points.

Oh and thx for the 5 points to Malta lol

There is always at least one song in the top of OGAE that flops. I think it will be Switzerland. The song is too similar to the last winning song. One of the song writers also wrote Arcade that is the better song in comparison. People will acknowledge the similarities. I believe Malta will reach at least top three if she can deliver the song live. But since she is such a great live artist I think she will nail it. But will she win? I am not sure.

99.9% people won’t know about the songwriters. Also, just because both songs are ballads doesn’t mean they are similar.

It is more than that they are ballads. They are in some parts extremly similar. Gjon has a great voice but might have some problem getting through the camera. He think he would have had more chances with last years song.

You’re entitled to your opinion absolutely but I believe that gjon won’t flop. Also, again I don’t want to annoy or offend anyone but I think a song that may not do as well as top videos have them is Lithuania. I don’t think it will completely flop but I think countries like Malta, Iceland and Moldova could get points over Lithuania. Also interestingly, in the last few years 2015-2019 one of the opening songs of the semis (meaning the first songs) didn’t qualify. There’s also examples of this in earlier years too. I thought it was just an interesting… Read more »

Of course I don’t know what will happen. It is only a prediction. It is always interesting to see who will flip and flop. I don’t think we have a clear winner this year. So that is also why I am speculating. I think Italy might do better live as well as Finland. Norway can also be a dark hourse.

That’s not what Helene wrote. And Malta’s song has nothing but the theme in common with ‘Toy’. Musically and lyrically, they are both different.

Guys, you just need to stop comparing everything with anything, that’s all. That’s the best way to not offend people.

Je Me Casse is basically a mix of Proud, Toy and Hey Mamma. Both Jury and Televote will love it. Je Me Casse will end up 3rd in the jury vote and 3rd or 4th in the televote.

Je Me Casse isn’t even in my top 10, but at least I am honest enough to tell it will end up in the top 5 if not top 3 in May.

I don’t like your mix. It’s an easy thing to do to pick one common thing to all the songs you quoted, link them to ‘Je Me Casse’ and write that ‘it’s basically a mix of’. A thing really easy to do. Do the same with the other songs. I want to see your comparisons.

Well I was thinking the same as GojoSatoru. Just heard Je Me Casse and remember feeling it borrowed from Toy. They both sing “I’m not your …”. The premise at the start of Destiny’s video is along the lines of Proud. Not sure about the Hey Mamma connection but I’ll look again.

Ellen

I get your point. But the ‘I’m not your’ lyric is common to other songs, not to ‘Toy’ specifically. So we can’t really talk about ‘borrowed lyrics’. If we start with this, we can find other songs with lyrics that are similar to another ones on another songs. And that will be an endless thing to do. It doesn’t only apply to ‘Je Me Casse’. I also get your point on ‘Proud’, but Goju dealt with ‘Je Me Casse’ song, not the impowerment speech at the beginning of its mv. So there’s no comparisons with both ‘Proud’ and ‘Je Me… Read more »

Voila is unique. Based of uniqueness, Barbara is this year’s Salvador Sobral. France is my personal #2, but I don’t mind France winning it. I see Tout l’Univers as a mix between Arcade and Beautiful Mess (Bulgaria 2017), but in French. Switzerland is my personal favorite, but I don’t see Switzerland taking the win, 2nd place is more likely. I see Victoria as this year’s Blanche despite them having different song genres. The Roop’s Discoteque is song style wise a little bit like Occidentali’s Karma, but more serious and the lyrics is not about making fun of Westerns. The hand… Read more »

You didn’t get my point. But nvm, that wasn’t important anyway.

Actually I just wanted you to understand that you’re picking common details on songs — like the use of sax sound or lyrical theme — to link them to another one and call it a ‘mix of’ while there’s nothing of a mix of in it. Every song has its particularities.

Why do people pay ANY attention to Ogae votings? Even eurovision youtube polls are more trustworthy than the votes of 15 people in every country. For example, here we see the votes of Albania, with Italy getting only 4 points and Greece getting nothing. As someone who knows how Albania votes every year, this looks like a joke. NO albanian is going to vote for songs like Sweden or Switzerland over Italy lol. And something else, Ogae has only predicted 1 winner in the last 6 yeas ( Toy ). All over the place. The only thing ogae voters do… Read more »
