Eurovision Netflix Movie Fire Saga Husavik Molly Sanden My Marianne Oscars

She’s made three turns in Melodifestivalen — Sweden’s biggest music competition. But now singer Molly Sandén has secured an even bigger audience. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has confirmed that she will sing “Husavik” during this year’s Oscars pre-show.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, this year’s show will break with tradition with a newly introduced pre-show. All five of the nominated songs will be performed in their entirety before the official ceremony. You can tune in from 18:30 New York time on April 25 to catch all of the performances.

In a post on its official Instagram account, The Academy shared an image listing the names of the show’s hosts and the artists who will perform the songs nominated in the Best Original Song category, confirming that Molly will be included.

The other singers gracing the stage are: Celeste, H.E.R., Leslie Odom, Jr., Laura Pausini, Daniel Pemberton, and Diane Warren. There will also be a special appearance by DJ Tara.

And while most of the acts will perform from the roof terrace of Los Angeles’ unopened Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Molly will be beamed in from Iceland, as confirmed by the AFP news agency.

In a statement released on Friday, the Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh and his fellow co-producers said:

“We’ve come up with some serious pre-game and post-game action to enhance our main event. Our suggestion is just tune in for the whole shebang, otherwise you’ll miss something really unexpected and fun.”

In case you forgot, the nominees for Best Original Song are….

  • “Husavik” from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga
  • “Fight For You” from Judas and the Black Messiah
  • “Hear My Voice” from The Trial of The Chicago 7
  • “Io Si (Seen)” from The Life Ahead (La Vita Davanti A Se)
  • “Speak Now” from One Night In Miami…

Will you be watching? Are you as excited for Molly as we are? Let us know in the comments box down below!

Rachel McAdams isn’t Lip-syncing she is actually singing, but after that they merged her and Molly singing so it is 90-100% Molly that is heard (in this song probably 100%). But Rachell did sing not Lip-sync.

I’m disappointed that so far there is no news about Molly performing in Eurovision or getting a small ad for the movie.

Sorry for saying this.. But a Swede, with their massive problems with Covid, going to Iceland with so much less numbers of Covid-victims?! Not a good idea?

We currently have a high spread, yes. But actually not massive problems

We don’t have a massive problem. Sweden is used as some kind for propaganda reasons in many countries. I get very sad to see this kind of propaganda on this site.

Have you ever heard of PCR and rapid tests? it’s not like she’s going to kiss and hug people. On top of that, Iceland is open to tourists.

While I would really love that, considering the amount of interval/opening acts that have already been released, I feel like The Netherlands has some tricks up it’s sleeve that it hasn’t said yet.

I’m hoping for a Switch Song, but with the Dutch performers at Eurovision.

I hope she wins an Oscar, then melodifestivalen and Eurovision! But I don’t think she will return to Melodifestivalen. She is already a star in Sweden. And it is also great if she wins an Oscar since she did some time in LA and a music producer there said she could never become anything if she did not loose weight. She left and came back to Sweden and started to make her own thing not listening to them and won her prestige. She is so beautiful!

Molly can’t get an Oscar since she isn’t one of the writers of the song.

Yeah but she is the one performing the song.

Lose weight ? What about the statement: love yourself as you are ?

You don’t understand. That is exactly what she did. She did not listen to the producer and stayed just as she is – beautiful.

Molly should represent UK next year. Or any other country smart enough to grab her. She’s amazing!
