Doris, why is it that everytime some news about Malta, however inconsequential it might be, you are there to spread your hate and conspiracy theories? For those who are saying that Malta is buying likes, why don’t you come out with the proof. Some 3 or 4 years back another country, which was not named was accused of doing just this and it was investigated by the EBU. If anything like this was happening the EBU would know about it and take the necessary action. So please, unless you have tangible evidence stop spreading lies. As to the Maltese delegation… Read more »

Glad to see some recognition for Belgium! It won’t win in May but quality should get rewarded, so I hope they qualify and get a decent ranking.

Jury wise 19th place will probably be what will happen to Finland in the finale. But, the televote will carry Finland to the top 12.

It’s interesting to see Polish fans giving their top points to Malta. If I’m not wrong, they’ve never done that before

I am really shocked…how the hell does Victoria only have 3 points and Cyprus 86? Well i guess we all know that this ranking will be nowhere near to the real ESC one…..

Azerbaijan, Croatia and Russia and painfully underrated while Sweden and Cyprus are waaaaaay overrated.
I’m convinced Cyprus won’t do as well as everyone’s expecting at Eurovision. Meanwhile….Moldova still without any points, while Estonia and Denmark got 5 aka 4 points. Anywaaaaaay…..

I think all of them are overrated… Azerbaijan in the top 10 with this trash song? No thanks. I like the song of Croatia but 11th isn’t serious. I think Russia is at its right place. And yeah, Cyprus and Sweden are overrated but not that much.

Malta is in fire in the odds this afternoon, she is becoming the firm favourite to win, something happened? Has Destiny revealed something about her performance? A leak? Did I miss something?

At this point actually she is, she has more chances to win than all the others if the contest happened now.
18% to win out of 39 countries when the second is at 14%, it’s a pretty comfortable big margin.

Do you know what are the youtube ads at the beginning of a youtube video? Malta use this way to promote their song like they did in 2019, is it bad? It’s a way like another, so of course when you see the Destiny’s music video as an ad at the beginning of whatever video, you are not on the eurovision page but it’s counted like 1 view even if you see it 10 seconds, so of course the likes are not really proportionnated to the views it’s logical. But one thing you have to know is that Switzerland use… Read more »

Some articles has been published about Malta and Je Me Casse in different participing countries’ medias recently (Ziarul Financiar in Romania, Pinknews in the UK, Index in Croatia, Delo in Slovenia). The link between these articles ? They are sponsored ones and probably paid by Maltese delegation (it’s cleary written at the beginning of these articles).

Some other medias has similar articles (in Cyprus and Portugal) but I don’t know if there are sponsored or not.

So maybe these articles “helped” Malta in the odds ?

I don’t think the bookies care a lot about these articles, or the hype, or the number of views, or the polls everywhere or anything else, as I said often, they have their own parameters. The bookies don’t choose the odds by themselves or according their tastes you know by the way they don’t even listen the eurovision songs themselves or follow what happens in the esc bubble.

All these you’ve mentioned my friend…are parameters of specific algorithms. You can inagine how many details they took into consideration. Have you ever heard officially how many are the televoters and their demographics ? Bookies…ebu and some countries only know.

Yeah it’s that kind of parameters I was talking, you got it. There are so many things they take into consideration, like the age and sex of the jurors, age and sex of the televoters, how a country tend to vote usually, how the voting of a country evolves or change, and others and others things that we can’t even imagine. Then a simple result in a poll for example is totally insignificant but people have hard time to get it. That’s true we have never had data about the televote of each countries, it could be interesting, the only… Read more »

Yeah there’s a part of mystery I dream to discover too, for Example why Malta was not favourite last year and is favourite this year, why France is 2nd this year knowing their usual bad results in the televote (and I say that as a Voilà suporter), why Lithuania or Iceland are not as high in the odds as last year, why Russia is so low knowing their usual results, many things I would like to understand.

Malta was top in the odds as soon as their song came out, without any promotion whatsoever, so no I don’t think that such articles have had any bearing on the odds.

Lol that yellow outfit in that picture can do well for image that stick in minds but those that understands the quality of song will use their ears to listen and eyes to see the performance. Italian entry and the group don’t show exaggerated image but rather singing with passion, same with French singer she not at all dressed apropriately or her hair is working hard but she sings beautifully her original song. Peope wait and see Malta will not win mark my word
