OGAE Poll 2021: Czech Republic gives 12 points to France

The annual Eurovision fan prediction poll continues. Today’s set of OGAE Poll 2021 results comes from OGAE Czech Republic, who award their douze points to France. Another set of top marks for Barbara Pravi puts the “Voilà” chanteuse in third place overall, just two points behind Malta.

The Czech club’s 46 voters ranked Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears as their second favourite. The current poll leaders picks up ten more points. Meanwhile, Malta’s Destiny picks up eight points.

San Marino, Ukraine and Russia also received points from the Czech voters.

OGAE Poll 2021

Votes from OGAE Czech Republic

  • 12 points — France
  • 10 points — Switzerland
  • 8 points — Malta
  • 7 points — San Marino
  • 6 points — Ukraine
  • 5 points — Cyprus
  • 4 points — Lithuania
  • 3 points — Russia
  • 2 points — Azerbaijan
  • 1 point — Sweden

OGAE Poll 2021 leaderboard — 30 April

With no change in the top ten, things are still looking good for Switzerland. Gjon’s Tears sits in first place, 28 points ahead of Malta in second and France just slightly behind in third. Lithuania and San Marino round out the top five. As we approach the halfway mark, a Swiss, French or Maltese victory looks increasingly likely. But mathematically, any country could still win — even the 14 countries who are still on zero points.

1. Switzerland — 177 points

2. Malta — 149 points

3. France — 147 points

4. Lithuania — 123 points

5. San Marino — 105 points

6. Cyprus — 97 points

7. Sweden — 53 points

8. Italy — 43 points

9. Azerbaijan — 38 points

10. Ukraine — 31 points

11. Croatia — 22 points

12. Romania — 18 points

13. Iceland — 15 points

(=) Russia — 15 points

15. Greece — 14 points

16. Serbia — 11 points

17. Finland — 10 points

18. Israel — 9 points

19. Denmark — 6 points

20. Norway — 4 points

(=) Estonia — 4 points

22. Bulgaria — 3 points

(=) Belgium — 3 points

(=) Moldova — 3 points

25. Ireland — 2 points

Countries that are not listed are yet to receive points from any voting clubs.

Between now and Sunday 2 May, half of the groups voting in the OGAE Poll 2021 will reveal their points one by one. Then, the remaining groups will announce their points at the same time on Friday 7 May in a grand final video spectacle.

What do you think? Will Switzerland maintain its lead in the OGAE Poll 2021? Let us know in the comments below.

I don’t receive anything on my youtube channel personally. And some people here are complaining about the fact they’re receiving news about Destiny on their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I’ve never seen a single YT video being promoted on an ad with those social medias since I’ve started using them. If those people are receiving those kind of news, isn’t it because they subscribed to Destiny’s channel or the official ESC one ?

That’s just my opinion, people. Take into consideration that we’re not all living in the same country, and even continent. In mine we don’t have ads promoting specific YT music video. It was the case 10 years ago with VEVO, when it was promoting the mv of such American big stars like Madonna, Britney, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry or Nicki Minaj but not anymore now — at least for me, idk about y’all.

I’m subscribed to ESC official channel of course, but shouldn’t I receive pubblicity for every country? Why only Malta?

And Youtube is ridiculous counting an add as a view. Without that Mlata would have something like 2M views instead of 5M, falsing the odds and creating fake hype, manipulating the odds and then the running order and all the sheeps jumping on it already ready to send their SMS on D day when they wouldn’t pay any attention on it normally like theu do for Slovenia.

Sounds like you’re from Slovenia since you’ve mentionned the country a lot of times when you’re criticizing Malta.

I don’t understand that ad/view system tbh, cause it’s not happening in my country. Can someone explain it to me ?

And Malta was first in the odds before getting 1M views with the mv of Je Me Casse. So your ‘they manipulated the views to then faking the odds’ comment can’t be accurate, Doris.

And the running order is decided by the Dutch television, I honestly can’t see it being manipulated by the broadcaster of such a small country like Malta tbh.

And above all on the YT views, if they were that influent on the odds, why Russia, Ukraine or Serbia aren’t that high in the odds ? Tell me your thoughts on it, Doris.

Yes, that’s the problem. Official Eurovisio channel promotes all the entries, some more some less… but receiving an ad with “vote for Destiny” even “wiki math” is a bit annoying

Are we dealing with the same Official ESC channel ? Cause I don’t see any specific promotional ads about Malta on it.

The ads are in Non Eurovision-related sites. Destiny’s pubblicity only appears as youtube’s pubblicity! I am not blaming the official channel for that…

But for example, yestarday I was searching for a mathematics topic in the Internet and announces with “vote for Destiny” appeared everywhere.

Oh ok, I thought you were reproaching to the ESC YT channel to promote ads about Malta.

What non-Eurovision sites in particular ? Cause it could have also happened to those I’m consulting — like Wiwibloggs — but I didn’t notice any ads about Malta tbh. But I trust you if you’re reporting that. You’re not the only one with the same case. A few people here noticed that.

France doing well in OGAE poll and INFE poll but doing so poorly in Eurojury where it’s not the fans who vote but more professionals singers, I’m sad and afraid for Barbara….

How does ir work with Eurojury? If they select the winner, is the winner going to get that 50% score on a bug day? Or is it a separate competition?

No, it’s separate but it can give indications, they have predicted the victory of Netta and Duncan.
The results of eurojury is the reason why Barbara is in red in the odds, so I’m afraid, France in general is not very liked by the others countries, they are appreciated only by the pure fans, and here the proof again, it’s sad.

It looks like Switzerland and Italy doing the best on there so far. I do like that the poll has much more mixed voting than the top 10 OGAE votes. Keeping my fingers crossed for France, love that song.

Would also just say that some of the more favourite songs this year such as Lithuania, Greece and San Marino are not doing very well at all on that poll, in fact i think San Marino only has points from one country so far but countries with zero points in the OGAE poll like UK and Portugal are doing quite well on there.

Obviously, Eurojury results are much more realistic than Ogae ones, but still they usually understimate songs like Voilà or Amar Pelos Dois. In 2017 They ranked Portugal and Bulgaria 5th and 6th respectively, while Gabbani won by a landsliade so I am just a bit worried for Barbara, but not too much 🙂

We have to wait for the live performances, I really hope in a Sobral’s effect. The Roop and Victoria never stood a chance for me (even though Victoria is in my top 3). I still think Gjon, Barbara and Destiny are the main contenders for the win with Måneskin and Dadi as big dark horses.

Just hope it won’t be Destiny, unless she really upgrades her song with her amazing live skills

Switzerland is going to win I think at this point and with or without a great staging, everybody seems to love his song, and he tops all the polls….Ogae Infe Eurojury by very big margins….. so we have to be realistic he is on the way of Netta and Duncan
So definetely a very good sign for him even if he is not among my favourites ….
And like that the France’s haters will be happy and very satisfied.

What manipulations? But anyway I think it’s done, it will be between Switzerland and Malta at the end, for the others “favourites” Dadi, Barbara, Maneskin, Victoria, the Roop, I’m sad but we have to be realistic.

No the number of views is not something that is determining for the odds for example, so each country can do what they want to promote their songs, to make known their singers and to have many views it won’t affect the final result of the contest.

Yeah Switzerland not one of my favourites either but i think unless they mess up the staging big time or the live vocals are off its looking like a likely winner this year. Personally i would love to see France pick up the win but i just dont see it happening.

We don’t know which version the “jurors” are watching. The music video doesn’t have the same appeal as the live performance, which is magical! Besides some countries have only 1 juror..

And don’t forget about Lithuania.

To me, it feels like the most open race in years. I’m really not sure Europe is craving for sad songs like ‘Voila’ and ‘Tout l’Univers’ after two years of lockdown. Also, ‘Tout l’Univers’ might be a tad too similar to ‘Arcade’. And the last time sticking to the previous year’s winning formula actually worked was in 2005.

Equally I’m not fully convinced of ‘Je me casse’. It’s good, yes, but is it really much better than the songs you’ve mentioned? I’m having my doubts.

There’s another poll too called eurojury with participants of jesc or esc as jurors for each countries, and the competition is even rougher than in the ogae poll….. France giving their top points to Switzerland and Malta but Switzerland not giving A single point to France (as usual) for example, let the fairplay begin!
I’m not saying they are obliged to give points to each others but it seems that Switzerland knows who are their main competitors it’s blatant. Fortunately all the countries don’t do that.

With 16 or so Ogae votes in, it’s notable how consistent the choices are: same core of countries getting the votes every time….I think these are gonna be top six..with perhaps Italy and Finland being undervalued by the ogae base.

Let’s discuss the bias of Czechia’s popular vote towards Azerbaijan. There’s no such big Azeri diaspora (compared to Ukrainian and Russian), but they receive 7-12 points from the Czech televoting every year. I got a theory but want to listen to others.

Same case for Armenia.

My theory is that average Czech viewer goes – “Well, Slovakia isn’t competing. Germany or Austria? Ew, no. Poland? Nah. Any EU member? Heck no! Wait! There’s Azerbaijan! Sure, why not.”
