What do you think? Will Switzerland hold on to the lead? Let us know in the comments below.
I think this proves why I personally think the UK’s entry is being really overhyped by many in the eurovision bubble. This is the first point we have received. Some have said that it’s our best entry for many years. I beg to differ. I actually preferred last years effort, as well as Lucy Jones and Molly. I find it devoid of any musical soul. It goes for the conveyor belt Sigala et al dance beat. Also, his voice, which is actually very good, is autotuned to farcical levels. If this creeps into the top 15, I will be very,… Read more »
The Belgian OGAE voters were probably only from Waals-Brabant. If Belgians from every part of Belgium voted for the OGAE poll, Malta wouldn’t have gotten the 12 points (more like 8 or 7 points).
United Kingdom in 26th with 1 point. I thought OGAE was supposed to be unrealistic haha
Thank you from Malta
221 voters! Second largest vote after OGAE Spain I think? Good job! ??
If oddchecker would get hacked placing Georgia as the favorite then you would watch OGAE giving 12 points to Georgia.
I’m surprised you’re complaining. Aren’t you from Malta?
Those of you who are downgrading countries by bad comments and hate, you should all be ashamed of yourselves!!!!If you really love Eurovision, you support all artists, they need all the love whether you like the songs or not!!!At this time of this pandamic, spread good vibes,as if not everyone is suffering enough!!!It’s only a competition after all!!!Pfff….grow up all of you and Respect!!!!
Amen!
If you really love Eurovision you don’t want a winner only based on fake hype and agressive marketing
.
“fake hype”. The same “fake hype”, which like 75% of OGAE favorites of other years got and which eventually ended up in the top 5 anyways?
I love Eurovision!!!And are you some kind of expert about these accusations,if so please inform me!!!If not,I advice you to keep it to yourself.Whats wrong with marketing a song???Thats how it goes!!!If other countries don’t do it,its no ones fault, but dont blame the countries who do.
Girl,.. Why are all your comments so hysterical.. with all the exclamation marks??
Cos I love doing them!!!!LOL…also am in menopause 😛
It’s obvious that ogaes following eachothers vote, you see Switzerland malta and france gets most top votes and Lithuania and san marino scoring high, ogaes votes similarity, lol lol lol…in Eurovision every country will send their votes before they are announced so no chance of copying eachother and no bookies and polls but performances counts
I’m so disappointed in my country (Germany). I think we will see a „0 points“ again
Same here. I believe NDR must have thought that being polarizing is a good thing. But ‘Cake to bake 2.0’ simply doesn’t do the job.
Why are you surprised ? Belgians hate French people. I am actually surprised they gave that many points. Worth a first place.
Lol you’re even worst than I thought….. you are an hater and you think everybody is the same. Go to support your Italy and let the others in peace. Ciao.
I really didn’t want my country. to give 12 to Malta… c’mon fellow Belgians…. I’m happy we awarded a point to the UK tho
Your country isn’t giving 12 points to malta its ogae vote not real eurovision jury and public vote…don’t worry
Join the OGAE Belgium, it’s a nice fan club 😉 so you can vote also and change the final results 🙂
The thing is Malta , Lithuania , France have all voted and Switzerland have not. So essentially that 25 point lead is only a 15 point lead.
I’m glad Belgium gave points to UK. Embers is a good song.
3 countries in my Top 15 are yet to receive points now , Belgium(9) ,Slovenia(10) and Czech Republic(11)
Belgium got points, luckily 🙂
Thanks for making me notice. It skipped my attention .” Insert Ulrikke “
I was talking with reference to Switzerland’s leads over its competitors. Lithuania is further away .
Also , I don’t really closely follow this vote . I missed Belgium getting points too .
OGAE clubs that give Malta 12 points should close. And y’all call yourselves Eurovision fans.
*yawn* all these hate comments are so tiring.
Y’all gonna swallow all your words today week when you see Malta’s staging 🙂
Can’t wait to see it not winning
WHAT!? Malta truly deserves more than being in second.
Yeah I agree. It does not deserve 12
it does
So true !
The worst 12 points…. To anyone else than that cheap ass Toy2 song…
Try again. You can easily see the many differences between Toy and Je Me Casse. You know very well that they aren’t similar except for the message. Destiny isn’t making chicken noises or being crazy in order to get people’s attention. She’s a superstar that steals the show with her powerful performances, just like Barbara Pravi. They both have star quality. And for the ‘Voila’ stans that are coming at Destiny’s song, it’s surprising not to see you talking about Barbara currently supporting and appreciating it on Instagram. Really surprising. Barbara loves music, she’s not making difference like y’all whether… Read more »
I noticed you ignored the quality of Switzerland.
Also, Salvador’s comments were not harsh, they were spot on.
dumbasss
I’m getting tired of OGAE, sorry
Me too. And don’t be sorry .
Since there are constant comments complaining about Malta getting points — and the other countries aren’t getting some, mysteriously — Imma cheer on the island cause it needs more support than ever. And it will get on nerves of some anti-Malta Karens here, so that would definitely be a satisfying thing to do.
Come thruuuuu Belgium!! Thx for the 12 points Belgian fans ! You betta work!
Tell them Ellen.
Go ahead, love! Say it louder for the people in the back!
Imma be honest, I’ve been criticized — sometimes fairly and sometimes not — and bashed a lot for defending Malta and Destiny. So, I appreciate a lot your support.
I’ve only criticized you for criticizing critique and making random assumptions.
YES! You go Ellen!!
Finally something for UK! Good work OGAE Belgium
Yay! A point for the UK!! Feels like real Eurovision xD
Conclusion, also OGAE Belgium (my country) has no taste!!!
The frustration is real. Their taste doesn’t represent yours. And yours doesn’t represent theirs. Respect the choices other people are making. You’re just sounding like a narrow-minded girl right now. Also, since you have taste, don’t be shy to share with us which countries have the greatest ESC entries this year. I’m curious to know em.
Since you know me so well, you should know by now!
I don’t remember well tbh. Cause every time I’m reading a comment of yours, you’re complaining about Malta or Cyprus getting points. Your negativity prevails so often in your comments that I don’t remember well which entries you like. But you surely love the Belgian one. Obvious guess. And I think you also supported Italy or Lithuania. I forget. Feel free to share to all of the other eurofans — including myself — that have no taste since we’re loving the Maltese and the Cypriot entries, which are this year qualitative ESC entries ? Cause we wanna know em from… Read more »
SLAY ELLEN SAY IT LOUDER FOR STEPHANIE AND ALL THE MALTESE HATERS
My choice for Belgium is obvious? Do you honestly believe that I like every single entry of Belgium? Or Sweden for that matter? Do you honestly think that I’m the only one who does not like your precious Malta? Many here wrote way more worse things about Malta than I did. And some have even commented on Destiny herself. Which I never did, by the way. And there’s something like freedom of speech and it’s nowhere stated that you are required to read all the comments. Oh yes, and Lithuania… hmmm, not that much either…
It was an assumption of mine. I was just dealing with this year Hooverphonic song, not all the Belgian entries. So, do you like your 2021 country’s entry or not ? You’re not the only one, I’m well aware of that. But you’re one of the few that are always keeping complaining about Malta in OGAE-related articles. When you say once that you don’t like when Malta is getting points or that you don’t agree with the OGAE branches rewarding the island with some top points, we get it. But you’re doing the same thing on various articles it’s annoying… Read more »
Seriously? I have not commented on Malta in a long time. And in answer to your question :YES I like the song of Belgium. The first time since 2018! And don’t accuse me of favoritism towards Belgium now, will you. And the last time I liked a song of my birth country, Sweden, was in 2014,i think.
I also know very well that you haven’t said anything bad about Destiny. You didn’t come at her for her weight and clothes like Im so fab and Doris. And I didn’t highlighted that on my first comment.
You’re indeed free to say what you want on that website, but doesn’t mean that you’re free to disrespect people opinion and decisions when they’re loving the Maltese entry — which is exactly what you’ve done by stating that the Belgian OGAR branch had no taste. That’s an unpleasant and disrespectful comment to make.
I’m going to tell you something that might shock you. But I really liked Destiny’s song last year, I really did. And together with the singer of Slovenia, sorry I forgot her name, I think Destiny will be the best performer. I’m actually sure of it
It’s interesting to know, but I don’t get what it has to do with my answer. And another thing that might shock you. Y’all can easily guess that I love Destiny so much, but she wasn’t even in my top 10 last year. Her song was way too classical and deja vu for me. If I’m defending it this year, it is because I really adore it. Not because I’m from Malta — as many people assumed about me — or because I’m obese etc. I do enjoy ‘Je Me Casse’ song for a lot of reasons, it is my… Read more »
To be honest with you, my goal with my comments is to make you realize that you have to respect other people tastes, Stephanie. You don’t seem to be a bad girl. You just have to know that your words can hurt people feelings. How would you feel if you were loving a song and an user were stating that people that were liking the song you loved had no taste ? That’s not a pleasing thing to say and especially to hear from somebody. So choose carefully and with wisdom the words you could post, that way you won’t… Read more »
You brought up Malta in this discussion, not me!!! And spread hate? Please tell me where I did it?
I’m not dumb, Stephanie. You’re not gonna tell me that your comment was aiming at Lithuania and France instead of Malta ? Taking into consideration the previous negative comments you’ve written about the song ?
And I didn’t write that you were spreading hate. It was seNhiT, not me.
Go Ellen!! Attack as much people here at this forum as you can!! You say something bad about Destiny / Malta? well… BOOM!! Ellen is here to tell you how to behave and tells you what to say or not…. get a life Girl…
Not the first one to tell me to get a life. Be more creative with your critiques, new Ellen fan. And yes, I’m defending Malta, but I’m not coming at every single person that is disliking the country’s song. You can check all my comments. You’ll also notice that I also defend Bulgaria’s one, the Switzerland one — while I’m not a big fan of it, France entry, the OGAE branches, the ESC jury or Wiwibloggs. You only see me as a bad person posting comments attacking people, but you don’t see/notice the positive stuff I’ve also posted here. I’m… Read more »
Join the club and give good taste to our top 10 😉
If Malta wins this i swear to god just send another female singer singing about women empowerment and there you have it free win guys !
Oversimplifying. If it was only about the message, then Russia or Latvia would also be on top. Malta is much more than just a message. And much better than a wannabe Arcade.
True ! But they are not plus sized singers so they dont fit in the “minorities” category.
You forgot one important thing. You have to be overweight. Therefore Russia and Latvia don’t count.
I agree, this message is so boring after Netta’s Toy, and wanna be arcade is overrated as well. I think if people are ready for changes, the most important message this year should be selflove and contenders to win: Lithuania and Romania.
I’m a 130-kg woman, and reading such comments like yours is disappointing. Do you really think that people are cheering on Destiny because she’s a big girl ? That’s not the case. We love her song, her personality and her singing skills. Is that so hard for y’all to realize that ?
What im trying to say is that she’ll eventually appeal more to people because she is part of the social minorities category, besides being super talented and that is a fact. C’mon guys we all know how macedonia did back in 2019 with the same message
After this discussion turned to be about weight, I simply rest my case.
You actually have a good point but there’s also a catchy instrumental, a “not your baby” instead of a “not your toy” and similar song ingredients (verse-verse-chorus) that the two songs have in common…
And 2 really different singers, different genre, different aesthetic.
In the meantime Switzerland just changes the language and gets a free pass, just because the fandom is ready to accept everything from “quality” entries.
The only difference I can find (besides the different countries lol) is the Israeli instruments in ‘Toy’ and the Swedish production in ‘Je Me Casse’
And Size+ then it’s the Jackpot
What’s size got to do with it? If you look at Eurovision winners through the years, there are very few that can be considered “Size+”. Don’t be so judgemental.
six to seven songs are consistently favoured by Ogae (and Infe) this year. Polls are driving odds and not vice versa. All to change after 3 May..after we see some staging.
None of the top 3 disasters, happiness group Italy, Lithuania or Iceland, are tired of copies. Quality needs to change.
Ok, I’m seeing many people hating on Gjon and Destiny but why Barbara?? Her song is beautiful!
I guess ogae belgium mistly consists out of flemish people xD. They’ll definitely score between 8-12 points in the televote on the night itself.
