Malta #. 1 Destiny for Greatnes.

Loved Greece, Iceland and Serbia today, while San Marino was pretty good too. I also think that Austria is criminally underrated by the fans. I’m a bit disappointed with Benny Cristo but I expect this to improve. Moldova, Poland and Estonia are all very underwhelming.

I reserve my judgement on Malta for the dress rehearsal on Monday. I find the whole dress discussion complete nonsense and I feel really bad for Destiny being handled the way she is by her own delegation. What I saw today isn’t a winning performance unfortunately.

Honestly, I wasn’t that excited when I saw the snippets. I was hyped about Stefania’s staging, but it’s not mind-blowing like I was reading on various blogs.

I think the most interesting visuals came from Iceland. And vocally, it’s still Destiny for me. If I was about to include the Big 5, her, Barbara and Damiano slayed the rehearsal today.

I agree. I looked at the press poll and they agree as well. Their top for SF2 for today were 1. Iceland, 2. San Marino, 3. Serbia, 4. Greece. Malta actually tied with Serbia but I’m not counting them here cuz they’re SF1. Austria also did fairly well with them, and I can see why. I believe juries will rank him high and he may qualify because of that, kind of like Nathan Trent. I think as long as they do well in the real thing, those four you and I have listed should safely qualify, and Switzerland, Bulgaria, and… Read more »

Malta shouldn’t even be on this poll, not their SF. Lazy organizers so today they finished at almost 8PM and yesterday they couldn’t go 20 minutes more after 5PM ?? Manipulations just for trying to avoid Malta their competitors on the polls but no luck even san Marino had better Poll press opinion lmao.

Can we talk about Moldova sounding like she is miming thanks to loud back vocals? Thanks to the Swedish mafia even the worst vocalist van perform in eurovision

That it’s way I continued to give credits to Romania, it’s not Roxen’s fault that her delegation doesn’t chose some backing vocalist, but she is singing all alone doing all these coreo in the meantime! I really respect her being so brave and risking it all

Yeh I thought pre-recorded vocals was meant to bring the smaller delegations possible and guess what most are bringing at least 4 dancers and using recorded vocals with multiple backing vocals . Get in mind that without this crazy decision some stagings would be totally different including Moldova, Cyprus, Malta, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Sweden and the worse Slovenia with a gospel choir of at least a dozen.
Rule of 6 broken in many cases.

We have to sign a petition to bring back the rule of no recorded voices asap for 2022 !! There will be no excuse next year because normally every participant should be vaccined.

Big shock for me today was how much I enjoyed Serbia’s “mum’s night out at the disco” entry.

It might be an unpopular opinion but I am actually starting to prefer semi final 2 over semi final 1, even though there are of course great songs on both nights. There is just a bit more “chaotic energy” (for the lack of a better word) over the stagings on the second semi final that I actually kinda like. 😀

Personally, Italy was the best for me today, but as it’s not in this poll, here goes:

The Best:
Iceland

The Worst:
Moldova
Poland

The Guilty Pleasure:
San Marino

The Indifferent:
Malta
Estonia

The Promising:
Greece
Czech Republic

Serbia and Austria?

Serbia would go into the “Promising” section. Not a big fan of the song but they delivered quality staging, so it’ll do well I’m sure.
Austria, the “indifferent” section. I don’t hate the song, I don’t love it either, it’s just there. Staging is nice and simple but I feel it could go anywhere on the night.

This is arguably one of the hardest semi finals Eurovision has seen. Nearly every single song could go through and most of these would have qualified in 2019 or 2018. 1. Iceland This is cute, this is everything we needed, that starting is absolutely amazing and the vocals immaculate. Yet another potential winner 2. Malta She looked much more confident, served vocals and the staging looked fierce. There’s a lot of creativity here and it could also deliver Malta THEIR first win as it’s super slick and ready for the final 3. Austria This was excellent all around. He sounded… Read more »

For once I see Greece torwards the top of the poll and actually think it’s deserved. The only problem with that staging idea though is because it’s all green screen, it’s not as exciting for the live audience

Doris

Who cares, there will be limited audience so I think the idea was in mind with that fact.

Wasn’t a pre-rehearsal favourite by any means but I thought Stefania was AMAZING today. The staging was really cool and her voice was great, so I voted for Greece. 🙂

I think Doris made that assumption because I think Greece was first when I voted and then Malta just jumped way ahead, though the votes seem to be averaging out now. I don’t think it was necessarily because they dislike Malta or the Maltese. Personally, Malta is in my top 10. Either way, it’s kind of silly when people bot vote or bot dislike comments, regardless of the country or nationality.

Yea, it happens in batches too, who knows? People even said they would feel cheated if they had a ticket for the live and only saw the green screen. As if the other songs are meant to be watched from the arena. It’s like they have no clue everything is setup for television first and foremost. YouTube was pretty positive though and I am sure the average Grand Final viewer will be impressed, as long as Stefania delivers an amazing performance. Which she probably will. She is slowly starting to get more and more confident. She looks gorgeous and her… Read more »

wow last time i said that poland was good but i guess i take that back now. rafal finally takes off his sunglasses, only for his face to be covered with pyro. i also think that malta was honestly so underwhelming, the camera angles tried to be wes anderson but that vibes was very wrong and i personally dont like her outfit estonia and austria had great stagings despite having average songs that used the lighting really well greece was really creative with (i assume) the green screen shirts and the vibe felt right. except i wish maybe they didnt… Read more »
