Good news for U.S fans of the Eurovision Song Contest. Ahead of Tuesday’s first semi-final, it has been confirmed that the Peacock streaming platform will air all three shows in the United States. It is set to be available to users of both the premium and free option of the site.

How to watch Eurovision 2021 in America

The Comcast-owned service confirmed the news on Twitter after fans first found listings for all three Eurovision 2021 shows on the Peacock app. In a series of tweets, it confirmed that it the shows will be available on both the free and premium versions of the service.

Peacock originally said that the three Eurovision shows would only be available to watch live. However, the EBU has since confirmed that they will remain available for on-demand viewing.

U.S. users can access Peacock here. All three shows go live at 21:00 CEST in Europe. This is equivalent of 15:00 in New York and 12:00 in Los Angeles.

Watching Eurovision in the United States

The news comes fresh from last week’s announcement that another Comcast-owned brand, NBC, will be the host broadcaster for the American Song Contest, a stateside spin-off of the Eurovision concept.

Up to 2016, Eurovision viewers could watch the shows live on the official YouTube live stream. Logo TV picked up the show for three years between 2016 and 2018. In 2019, Netflix US streamed the contest on delay.

What do you think of today’s news? Will you be watching on Peacock? Or would you rather watch it some other way? Let us know below.

This is so exciting!!! Ever since I started watching in 2016 I’ve not been able to watch the semi finals in the US so I’m literally ecstatic for tomorrow

How strange that neither EBU nor NBC made a big announcement about this. This is a HUGE step forward for viewers in the US. I’m hosting viewing parties for each show this week, and I was getting so nervous not having any news about how to watch. (Of course I had my sneaky backup plans . . .)

Cheers to NBC for making this available so quickly after the ASC deal. Historically, NBC was the first licensed TV broadcasting system in the US, so from that perspective it’s kind of the big daddy.

I’m glad NBC of all broadcasters was the one that agreed to partner up with the EBU tbh because it always seemed like the best option of the major ones we have.

Do you happen to know if any bars or pubs will be broadcasting the final in Los Angeles area? They’ve done in the years prior.

And it’s also Upfronts week in the US so NBC/NBCUniversal has the platform at the moment in announcing to their advertisers and investors what they have in store for the rest of the year.

The current bloodbath happening on US Television at the moment will continue as NBC still has to announce a few more renewals, cancelations and other surprise announcements this week so we might still hear something soon (or maybe not).

Oh, there’s no rewatch after it airs live? I was planning on watching it later because I have a 12pm vaccination appointment. I guess I’ll have to pull up the Irish and Swedish iPlayers tomorrow. Tuesday and Saturday I will try to make it live.

I’m disappointed as well. I’ll be at work for the entirety of the scheduled broadcasts of the semis. Oh well. I still have the Swedish and German broadcasters bookmarked from 2019. Hopefully they will keep them on their sites for a few days at least.

You can use VPN and watch it on Youtube or wait for Netflix.

I don’t think it will be on netflix. I’ll try an iPlayer that is playable in the us. RTE and SVT have proven reliable in the past.

Even more news on this! I DMed Peacock on twitter directly. They told me that the US livestream will NOT have ads (a relief since this means we won’t miss any green room stuff). The US livestream will also have its own commentary. I’m not sure who the commentator is but I’m very curious to see how that will turn out.

Very curious! As long as it’s not any of those clueless yakkers from Logo, I’ll give anybody a fair chance.

Don’t remind me. They did an okay job talking about the music and the clothes but they didn’t have even basic knowledge about the contest rules or traditions. They didn’t even know what the Big 5 was! Every year! For some reason no one seemed to think it a good idea to give them a couple of pages about that in their prep materials.

My guess picks for commentator: Carson Daily or Maria Menounos.

Will Ferrell used to work for NBC on SNL, and he’s clearly a superfan, it would be funny if they tagged him for commentary.

It’s possible…. Fire Saga was supposed to perform on SNL before the lockdown.

The Logo people work for CBS/Viacom so probably you are safe. More likely they will bring in TV personalities they have targeted to be part of the American Song Contest.
