Destiny Je Me Casse Malta Eurovision 2021

Tonight twenty-six acts will take to the Rotterdam stage for the grand final of Eurovision 2021. But for now, all we can do is look into our crystal balls or examine tea leaves.

After semi-final two, we asked y’all to vote for your Eurovision 2021 favouritesWe’ve counted a total of 22,547 votes and the results are in.

Poll: Malta’s Destiny is your favourite to win Eurovision 2021

She was a long-time favourite with the bookies. And while she’s slipped ever so slightly in the odds, Malta’s Destiny remains a firm favourite with our readers. The “Je Me Casse” songstress took home a total of 3,535 votes or 15.68% of all votes cast. She’s a comfortable number one, over 750 votes over her nearest competition.

Taking silver is Italy’s Måneskin. The “Zitti  E Buoni” rockers scooped 2,781 votes or 12.33% of all votes cast. The Sanremo champs might not be top here, but they’re currently the favourite with the bookmakers.

Taking the third and final podium spot is France’s Barbara Pravi. The “Voilà” chanteuse amassed a tally of 1,621 votes or 7.19% of all votes cast. She’s remained a consistent favourite since winning the revamped French selection show way back in January.

If our readers are to be trusted, the rest of the top ten will consist of Lithuania’s The Roop, Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears, Ukraine’s Go_A, Serbia’s Hurricane, Finland’s Blind Channel, Cyprus’ Elena Tsagrinou and Iceland’s Daði og Gagnamagnið.

And the actual results are in. Malta placed 7th.
Sadly, the reality of having a song which confuses three genres coupled with a glamerously dressed singer backed by four dancers dressed in cheep lycra was never going to work visually. The staging of this was a complete mess. Destiny deserves a better song because man she can sing. She raised the roof with her voice.

Hope she attempts eurovision again in another year.

This morning when I turned on the radio, I heard “We are the champion” by Queen. The problem is, they never say who the champions are. Coincidence? I do not believe.
😀
Good luck to everyone. All my love to Barbara, Gjon and Hooverphonic. If Maneskin, Destiny or Stefania win I would be very happy too. Finally, I would be happy for everyone … As long as it’s not the only song that I don’t like, ahah! (and there …. She wins. Noooooo!)

Italy is my personal favourite but I think San Marino might be the dark horse that steals it at the end. I can see San Marino winning the televote so if the jury don’t slaughter them, it could be a historic win.

And with any luck prove to underdogs like my own country, Ireland, that it is possible if you just deliver the goods.

Ah I don’t know, her vocals started bad and only recovered halfway through, by that point she’d blew it. The issue with the camera breaking just after the postcard when she was due to perform didn’t help either.
But honestly, I think we buried ourselves this year. But hey, what’s another year? 😉

We all are forgetting one very big thing: the Final is watched by more than 200 million people worldwide, and majority of people tune in on Saturday and pretty much 85% of them hear the songs for the very first time.
So let’s just say that anything is possible, jury votes are done, but televote is the real thing and usually gives us the end result.

Let’s see what’s gonna happen tonight, I wish them all Good Luck and do your best on the stage tonight. 🙂

The top 4 and most likely to win – Italy ?? France ?? Malta ?? Ukraine ?? have different styles and mostly different messages that can appeal to different audiences. Italy – it’s the cry out of many people that feel imprisioned and restrained by rules and conventions. So appealing to many many people currently in these times of lockdown and rules. France – an artist that wants to express herself through her music and leaves all on stage – her cry, her voice.  Malta – an empowering message for women that don’t want to be subject and have the… Read more »

Absolutely, even the betting odds are still rigged for Malta. Remember Norway 2018 and Russia 2019 that were also front runners but after their dreadful running order they immediately fall down on the odds 9th/8th before the final and Malta would still be 3rd this year just LOL without being televote fronrunners like Russia or Norway plus. Should normally been out of the top 10 because chances are no more higher than Moldova now.

Malta’s delegation is beyond annoying this year and there is nothing racist about it.

From paying for ads and spamming all over the place, not hiring local talent for anything, Destiny disregarding all her fans as worthless haters because they tried to give constructive criticism, Destiny saying no other entry except of her own is a 12 , to her manager complaining that the star should have been given a better running order than the others…

sadly it’s such a mess

I would like to see a Maltese win but if I was the EBU I wouldn’t be soo keen on Malta hosting . First of all is the lack of venue. I have been downvoted on this statement before but it’s true . Fine for junior Eurovision which the hosted before but no actual appropriate Eurovision venue exists . They wouldn’t have the resources or money Azerbaijan was able to throw at their venue or the means that Denmark had in 2014 . Which can I remind everyone went way over budget at 45million . Anyone have answers to these… Read more »

they sabotaged her by draw.. generally , if any favoruite country picks the first half , they put them to 10-13. Just like they did to Switzerland and Iceland this year. (And Duncan Laurence , Salvador Sobral) but they put Destiny to number 6 and they could put her to 13 (they gave 13 to a weak country Spain) that is a clear sabotage. Also they put her before Russia (both has the similar message) Ovbiously EBU doesn’t want a small country to host.

I really can’t understand on what base are the odds made, how can you rank music?? How can they know which music is likely to suceed, it’s takes out completely the surprise of the show. Good luck to Cyprus, Iceland and Malta, they are waiting too long to get the opportunity to stage this show. I refuse to vote in countries that do not get interested and devalues Eurovision.

These are hard headed business people who are running a profit making company. They look at every variable and set odds to attract people to bet money, as money is spent on say Italy to win, their price falls so that next person gets lower odds as chance of winning is now seen as higher. The only interest they have in the blog posts is to feel the sentiment to help them set odds. There is NO Eurovision skullduggerry.

Yeah, it’s definitely overlooked by the fandom but it could do better than we expect (though I’m not expecting it win–maybe 4th-5th place at best for their best result or somewhere in the 6th-10th positions). Malta is top 10, maybe even Top 5, but they’re not winning this.
Moldova is a deserved last place, they shouldn’t even have qualified. Though we all know because of Kirkorov and his creepy connections, they’ll probably finish higher than that, with either United Kingdom, Spain or Germany coming last.
Genuinely feel UK have given their best song in years though and it would be nice to see them finish atleast 15-20th, I think that’s deserving.
