In the aftermath of last weekend’s grand final, Eurovision 2021 artists have started climbing the charts all over Europe.
Below are just some of the countries that have opened up to this year’s Eurovision. Keep in mind, we don’t list every country where an act is charting, nor do we mention every act. Some markets don’t publish any form of singles charts while others only release airplay charts. And then, of course, several charts have yet to be updated for this week.
Eurovision 2021 songs in the charts
Belgium
In Belgium, as per tradition, it appears that the Flemish are the ones most on board with Eurovision. Hooverphonic are at number #1 on the main chart with five more acts lower down the chart. In Wallonia, only two 2021 songs feature in the top 50.

Germany
The European public didn’t appreciate their Eurovision effort — Jendrik got zero points from the televote — but the Germans don’t appear to be taken it personally. Five of this year’s entries make the country’s top 100, with Duncan Laurence leading the way.

Italy
The country secured its first win in 30 years, but the Italian charts are sparse when it comes to Eurovision. Måneskin’s “Zitti e buoni” returns to its previous chart peak of #2, achieved just after Sanremo. However, the rockers won’t be too upset as they have five more songs inside the top 100. Almost three months after the final, several Sanremo entries remain on the chart.

The Netherlands
Hosts The Netherlands might not have fared so well on the scoreboard, but the Dutch public are lapping up all things Eurovision. The Dutch Charts — which focuses on physical sales, downloads and streaming — is overrun with songs from the contest.

Norway’s main chart — the VG-Lista — only looks at the top 40 songs. Nonetheless, nine of this year’s entries have broken into the countdown.

Sweden
It’s perhaps the country that’s most obsessed with Eurovision. Back in March, almost all the entries in its national selection graced the charts. So, it’s hardly surprising to find a decent chunk of tracks from Rotterdam inside Sweden’s top 100.

He secured Switzerland’s best Eurovision result in 28 years, and joint second-highest placing since Céline Dion’s 1988 victory. And Gjon’s Tears has been justly rewarded with a #1 in the Swiss charts.

Of all 41 competing countries, the UK is arguably the hardest market to crack. But this year eight entries have managed to sneak into the Official Singles Chart Top 100. Top of the bunch is Italy’s Måneskin at #17 — the highest-charting Eurovision winner since “Heroes” in 2015.

Its nice to see that so many Eurovision songsare in the UK Top 100.It is hovever infuriating that despite their , and the contests obvious popularity that they are never heard on the main BBC stations or playlists.If these songs recieved proper airplay then they would all go onto be huge hits.Verka serducka ,Swedens Undo,Lordi`s winner ,all went into the charts following the contest but due to prejudice in the media and lack of airplay the songs did not advance further in the chart.Every year we are bombarded by the same diggy loo/bim bam type entries from decades back on… Read more »
I’m surprised with the amount of times I’ve played Jendrik on iTunes this week the German entry isn’t in the UK charts. That was such a gimmicky and funny song – it so reminded me of when Jedward won Britains Got Talent – but much better!

I think one problem with the current televoting system is that many people now watch things like Eurovision on demand and so by the time they get to voting the time has already gone. I went to vote for Germany this year but as we were watching it on BBC iPlayer by the time I went to vote it told me the lines had already closed. I wonder if it would be better in future if they had a longer voting window for televoting to say give people watching on demand 24 hours to vote – say put the acts… Read more »

It’s interesting how well does Hooverphonic in charts. It sometimes does better than winner.

Sanremo was ages ago so Zitti e Buoni was on top 50 since march. And they had Amici finale a week before Eurovision and it’s way more popular than Eurovision in Italy (#1 is from Amici).
We have been listening to zitti e buoni since March, so maybe that’s why ?

Voilà has been 1st all Eurovision week before the grand final from Monday to Sunday I would say.
Actually, the charts are pretty empty and 24 position is still quite strong for a “classic ballad/french chanson”.
Also, the fact that only 2 Eurovision related songs figure out in France’s charts absolutely does’t reflect a disinterest : last weekend, I counted around 20 of the 2021 class in the top 100. That’s just how it goes with countries that have big marquets which is the same for Italy, the UK I suppose.

Bimbamboom has said it all. But I would add two elements: the first is that in France there are certain songs that remain at the top of sales for a very long time. For example currently we can see “Beau-Papa”, a song by Vianney which was released last year. That leaves less space for new things. The second element is that we have almost more TV shows in France where singers can come and do their promotion. Exactly. And yeah, Voilà was first during Eurovision week, and it was also first back in January after C’est vous qui décidez. Also, on May 24, there were 4 ESC entries in the French top 10 : Voilà (1), Zitti e buoni (7), Tout l’univers (8), and Shum (10).
Voilà has NEVER been first in the French charts. Voilà has actually never charted in France, it’s the very first week it does (and probably the only one). It was #1 on iTunes in January and last week though, which is the thing you are talking about I guess. But iTunes is not representative of the current music market at all. In the overall chart (streaming+sales) Voilà’s peak will thus be #24. That’s pretty sad.
Fun fact: I’m French and I currently live in France as well. Believe me or not but I’ve never heard of Vianney’s song “Beau-papa”! As to the question why Barbara (and other ESC songs) do not do great in French charts, well, my guess is that the French market is saturated with (often mediocre) songs produced by all mighty major music labels. Mainstream music is everywhere but “Fringe” music can hardly reach an audience. My other guess is that France is paradoxically full of niche markets (rap/urban/electro/lounge etc.) This leaves little room for ESC songs I think… except if ESC… Read more »
Living in France and never having heard “Beau-papa”, bravo, it’s a real performance, so much is served to us everywhere, all the time and in all sauces. I turn on the radio (“Et si l’averse nous touche toi et mouaaaaaah”), I do my shopping, in the loudspeakers of the store (“On la traverse à deux, à troiiiiis”) , the garbage truck passes in the street ( “Prends ma main de beau-papaaaaaaaaaaaa”) Herveraim you are my hero. I’m not a caveman though 🙂 But still, it’s the truth ! When you work from home and never have to commute, when you never watch mainstream TV channels and never listen to popular radio stations, when Spotify suggestions range from Brian Ferry to Jahn Teigen, on peut clairement passer à côté de Vianney !
In Britain our charts are pretty meaningless – songs do come and go quickly and it’s hard to get in our charts – mainly because our charts are pretty much controlled by Bauer Media. Most of the chart is based on radio airplay – which when Bauer own pretty much all local stations under the “Greatest Hits Radio” (although they really should add an S to the beginning of Hits to get a more accurate name) name (and many others including Rock FM, City FM, Hits Radio (Key 103), Absolute Radio, etc)… then what Bauer plays gets in the top… Read more »
I am French living overseas and have to be honest, it is a good song by Barbara Pravi but I couldn’t support that entry at all since it has been selected by the French audience of C’est Vous Qui Décidez because it wasn’t strong enough compared to the other entries. I understand Barbara Pravi has sold out concerts in Paris and is bound to tour in the coming months but she doesn’t have the huge reception she should have compared to other European artists. Why isn’t France supporting their Eurovision entry wtfff
Sadly, there isn’t a lot of major radios which airs “classic ballad/french chanson” nowadays as their main focus is more on pop and commercial genre I would say. But that doesn’t mean there’s any support from the general public here : Voilà was a Youtube trend during the whole last week and this song especially has the strengh to attract the whole sections of a family, speaking both to “older” viewers as well as a younger audience not necesserally confident with the “chanson genre” as a lot of comments on social media could suggest.
