Italy Eurovision 2021 Winners Maneskin

It’s been almost one month since they took victory at Eurovision 2021. However, Måneskin’s march towards world dominance is showing little sign of slowing down. Billboard’s latest global chart features three of their songs, while the band is poised to score a top ten hit in the UK.

Måneskin on the Billboard Charts

In the immediate aftermath of their win in Rotterdam, the Italians joined France’s Barbara Pravi and Ukraine’s Go_A inside the Billboard Global Chart (excl. US). However, while the latter two have fallen outside of the top 100 in the weeks since, the “Zitti E Buoni” hitmakers are actually strengthening their grip. The top 100 now features three of their songs — their Eurovision winner, the Wiwi Jam at Home favourite “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” and a cover of “Beggin” — a track that’s been a hit for many acts throughout the years, including the Four Seasons and Madcon.

Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan are even performing well after the US figures are factored in. Both “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” and “Zitte E Buoni” feature on the overall global chart too.

Billboard Global Chart excl. US (Week of 19 June)

  • 18. “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” (up from 21) — third week on the chart
  • 20. “Zitti E Buoni” (down from 10) — fourth week on the chart
  • 49. “Beggin” (new entry)

Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade” is at number 55.

Billboard Global Chart (Week of 19 June)

  • 29. “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” (up from 32) — third week on the chart
  • 36. “Zitti E Buoni” (down from 22) – third week on the chart

Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade” is at number 73.

Måneskin set to enter the UK top 10

Måneskin have already cracked the top ten in charts all over Europe, including Sweden, Belgium, Finland and their native Italy. They now look set to do the same in the United Kingdom, albeit with the album track “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” rather than their Eurovision-winning entry “Zitti E Buoni”.

According to the latest chart update, which factors in sales and streaming figures for the first half of the week, “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE” is charting at number eight. Should they maintain this momentum for the rest of the week, they will become the first Eurovision act since Loreen in 2012 to achieve a top ten hit in the UK. “Zittie E Buoni” and “Beggin” also feature further down the update.

Official Singles Chart Update (14 June 2021 – 20 June 2021)

  • 8. “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE”
  • 65. “Zitti E Buoni”
  • 98. “Beggin”

Not my style of music. But it will be a great thing, if they continue to be successful outside of Italy. It will benefit a lot to the contest.

Will they become a new ABBA?

Nah! Abba brought something completely original – their distinctive sound and looks. Maneskin is revisiting something which we have already had.

well don’t forget that Abba started their careers singing italian music. In their interviews they often stated how italian pop music of the 60’es and early 70es influenced their music. You can find the typical italian harmonies of the time in many of their songs and ballads. They became Abba not because of Eurovision, but because after eurovision they left everything behind and decided to move to Uk working with british people.Had they remained in Sweden I don’t think they would’ve had the same success. That’s what is happening with Maneskin, Simon Cowell is likely to be their new manager.

Although I am not a fan of their songs, this is a great thing for them and the Eurovision.

i would never have expected Maneskin to be that popular worldwide, wow so happy about them and Eurovision ofc, record labels will take it more seriously as a promo platform now.

Beggin’ is going viral and i don’t get why bc it’s just another cover version. It just shows you how people are obsessed with their English songs. They need to record more.

Slave should be the next single ASAP. Will they perform in UK?

Måneskin have just entered Spotify Global Artist Chart at #198. It’s a huge achievement for them and Italy!

Delighted for Måneskin. It’s great to see Eurovision acts breaking the mainstream charts.
For every act that does, Loreen, Duncan, Måneskin etc. It moves the contest away from naff stereotypes and makes it a credible singing, music and media event. Eurovision needs more acts and winners like this, so that others can take it seriously (ahem Ireland and UK) and it moves away from the mafioso grip of Kirkorov and Bjorkmann.
Long may it continue and it can only be good for the contest going forward.

The UK yes, Ireland on the other hand, I’ll say is a little harsh. Ireland does take it seriously it’s just that RTE (the Irish Broadcaster) is struggling with funds right now to properly compete

Liam, that’s not true, well it is about RTE but the Irish public have had a terrible attitude towards Eurovision in the last 15 years. And it started with Dustin

I’m Irish and can guarantee most Irish people think ESC is a joke. Anyone I talk to is like “Ew why though?” When I say I like ESC.
Though I do believe if RTE started making an effort, public interest will grow. It’s a ratings winner whenever we qualify. There was a great atmosphere here in 2018 when Ryan qualified, but by and large, Irish people are negative about Eurovision, or mainly our overall participation.

not really, songs were successful before tiktok because of radio and streaming services… this is just the next step of it cause more people find new music they like on tiktok than they do almost anywhere else nowadays. i think it’s amazing because it’s giving talented people the platform and success that they deserve and worked hard for
