Fabrizio Faniello took Malta to the top ten at Eurovision 2001 with the song “Another Summer Night”. Now, to celebrate the entry’s 20th anniversary, the singer is releasing an updated version of the song. You can exclusively listen to the new “2K21” remix of the track below.
There’s an extra surprise in the video mix of “Another Summer Night 2k21”. Fabrizio has brought onboard his sister Claudia Faniello to feature in the track. Claudia has also previously represented Malta at Eurovision, competing in 2017 with the song “Breathlessly”.
Fabrizio & Claudia Faniello – “Another Summer Night 2K21”
This new version strips away some of the early 2000’s production of the original and brings in a slightly more contemporary feel. The most notable difference is the removal of the Spanish guitar from the chorus, which is instead replaced with some summery electronic beats.
That being said, it’s not a complete overhaul of the song. There’s still enough of a throwback sound that it will probably be nostalgic for those who were fans of the original.
The music video features Fabrizio and Claudia as comic-style characters enjoying various activities on a summer’s day and night – sailing on the ocean, dining under the moonlight and singing on the beach. (Though it does feel like the pair are staring into your soul for three minutes, as their facial expressions never change throughout the video)
The full Another Summer Night 2k21 EP hits streaming platforms on 2 July, but you can pre-save it now.
In addition to the above mix with Claudia, there’s also a solo version from Fabrizio as well as some remixes for summer parties at the club.

Perhaps they should have got their mother, Anna (X Factor contestant) in to do a turn. Interestingly…..next year will be the 20th anniversary of Seventh Wonder.
It’s one of my favourites in esc 2001. I love it, so summerish!
I was just listening to the song yesterday,It’s such a bop and It’s in my top 3 of 2001 together with Greece and France!
Feel sorry for artists like this who are clinging onto their old glories instead of moving on. Could he mentor acts in the new maltese nf?
Poor Fabrizio and Claudia. Televote really doesn’t like them at all, I mean, they ended up in the worst possible spot in it in all their participations (2001, 2006, 2017)
2001 was a good result though!
Yeah but not in the tele (the 5 countries that were allowed tele at least)
