After bringing the fire to Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam, fans were desperately waiting to see what Elena Tsagrinou was going to serve next. She hasn’t left them hanging for long, with the release of her new club banger “Telika I Zoi Sinehizetai” – “Eventually Life Goes On”.

One may have expected Cyprus’ representative to have a rest with a cocktail in hand on a beach somewhere to celebrate – not this Queen. Elena is straight back on the horse with her new track “Telika I Zoi Sinehizetai”, which is again released by Panik records.

This time Elena is collaborating alongside singer, model and rising star Dimitris Tatarakis. Also signed by Panik records, Dimitris is described as “a ‘fresh’ and bright face with innate talent”. Maybe Elena will share the Eurovision fever with Dimitris and we could end up seeing a lot more of him in the future.

“Telika I Zoi Sinehizetai” was composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Arcade. They’re the legends behind Stefania’s Eurovision 2021 entry for Greece, “Last Dance”. And of course, Kontopoulos has been behind a number of other previous Eurovision entries, including Natalia Gordienko’s entry for Moldova this year, “Sugar”, and both of Russian star Sergey Lazarev’s third placed songs – “You Are The Only One” (2016) and “Scream” (2019).

Speaking of the music, “Telika I Zoi Sinehizetai” seems like the fusion we never knew we needed. Aligning the pop heat of Elena Tsagrinou with an irresistible Swedish House Mafia style dance track, this new single will most certainly get you on your feet and onto the dancefloor.

Elena Tsagrinou and Dimitris Tatarakis – “Telika I Zoi Sinehizetai”

Not only is this the perfect summer club song, but it is also a song that everyone needs to listen to after a break-up. The lyrics are about moving on after a failed romance. It may have been good at the time, but things weren’t meant to be. However, life goes on and you come out of it stronger: “Eventually life goes on, and paradise before the cliff will be won”.

The music video is filmed entirely in black and white. Elena and Dimitris naturally take centre stage, but they’re also joined by a number of other people that strike poses in amongst all the quick camera cuts. It oozes class and high fashion. So much so, you may be confused in thinking you were watching an advert or a photo session for fashion house Yves Saint Lauren – très magnifique!

This is Elena’s first new single since the release of her Eurovision entry “El Diablo”. Yes, the song may have finished a relatively disappointing 16th place at Eurovision 2021, but Elena has still taken the world by storm.

“El Diablo” has hit almost 20 million streams on Spotify, whilst her Eurovision performance on YouTube is closing in on 10 million views. Plus, she has been featured on billboards in New York’s Times Square. Forget the contest result, that there is a huge win!

What do you think of Elena’s new song, “Telika I Zoi Sinehizetai”? Do you think we may see Dimitris Tatarakis grace the Eurovision stage in the near future? Let us know in the comments.

I love it, it’s so mid-00s Greek pop. It reminds me of 2008 Sakis (that was his Kontopoulos era).

Hot take: all the craze that surrounds Korean pop nowadays, we will see something similar with Greek pop in the future.

It’s long overdue, Greek artists have delivered some great songs over the years, not only in Eurovision

‘Life Goes On’ as a phrase fits perfectly the way Elena reacted to her bad result, at least compared to what we all expected… Keep slaying!
