A lot can happen in four seconds. Just as Måneskin‘s Victoria De Angelis. In the Instagram teaser for the official “I Wanna Be Your Slave” music video, she steps into the frame wearing lingerie, leans forward and spits on her kneeling bandmate Ethan Torchio. Perhaps nodding to the song’s title, Ethan looks more expectant than shocked as Victoria’s warm saliva drips down his cheek.

The release — of the teaser, not the slobber — confirms that the music video will premiere on Måneskin’s VEVO account at 18:00 BST / 19:00 CEST on Thursday, July 15. The release brings an end to more than a week of teasing, during which each of the band members has shared photos and stills that capture their elevated raunch aesthetic.

Grab some ice water and open the windows. This promises to be a scorcher…

Måneskin premiere “I Wanna Be Your Slave” music video

In one particularly erotic photo set released days before the YouTube Premiere, the band shared a series of snaps which show close-ups of them wearing white Gucci undergarments. Although their faces aren’t visible, fans can easily identify Ethan’s hair as he clutches Victoria’s derrière, and Damiano’s pierced nipples and signature chest tattoo as Thomas tugs at Damiano’s pearls. And then there’s Ethan’s tongue against Victoria’s stomach and his bum against her belly.

But the current gallery is not the original one, which included an additional snap of someone tugging at Damiano’s white briefs, revealing his transversus abdominis — that deep v-shaped cut in the abs, also known as “sex lines”. The thumb inside his briefs nearly revealed his pubic hair, which seems to have set off the censors. (We saw the pic on the Instagram Stories of their stylist Nick Cerioni after-the-fact).

Writing in the caption of the new gallery, the band referenced the song’s lyrics, while joking about the earlier gallery being removed. They said: “I wanna touch your body so f*cking electric (pls don’t report us again for being hot).”

“I Wanna Be Your Slave” comes from the band’s second studio album Teatro d’ira: Vol. I. The song, which won’t officially be released as a single until July 16, has already managed to climb the charts in dozens of countries. It hit Number 1 in Finland and Slovakia, and hit #3 in Germany, #5 in the UK, and #7 in Italy.

We’re beyond proud to say that the group’s performance for the Wiwi Jam at Home online concert played an important role in the journey. Released just two days before the grand final of Eurovision, that performance, which you can watch below, went viral on TikTok, sparking hype from Lithuania to the United States via Italy and Romania.

The casual performance — filmed at Mulino Recording Studio in Acquapendente — has now been seen nearly 36 million times.

The song is told from the perspective of someone who has it bad for the object of their affection. The lyrics recount their obsession and how they’re willing to enslave themselves if that’s what it takes to win them over — perhaps for a lifetime, perhaps just for the night.

“I wanna make you hungry, then I wanna feed ya,” Damiano sings. “I wanna paint your face like you’re my Mona Lisa, I wanna be a champion, I wanna be a loser, I’ll even be a clown ’cause I just wanna amuse ya.”

There’s also a more general point about human sexuality and the many roles we play or at least think about playing. Whether that’s ceding control to feel empowered or the tension between wanting to dominate and submit, the band know we’ve all got room to explore.

Speaking to RockOn.it, Damiano said the lyrics are “a way to crudely describe all the facets of sexuality and how they can be influential in everyday life.”

“We inserted some contrasts: ‘I’m the devil, I’m a lawyer, I’m a killer, I’m a blonde girl.’ We want to convey the idea that we don’t have to have a single identity — everyone can have many facets.”

Iconic. This is sooo good and different. This is what the young audience wants and that’s why they went viral.

They got 200k new subscribers within 1-2 days. This is huge.

Very good news for Eurovision, hopefully more broadcasters and artists take it seriously now. No more one-hit wonders.

Just some info, Roxen’s launching her new song too. A modern rendition of Inima nu fi de piatra, an old Romanian song (1960-ish)

I know this is kinda off topic but as an American EuroFan, I just HATE when Americans claim Måneskins songs as their own. It’s like a thing your really proud of and someone just steals it. I’m really happy for their success tho 🙂

I think they mean with things like for example TikTok where the song becomes more generalised and Americans think they ‘discovered’ it without knowing (or caring) it’s got a background (aka the ESC) Like what happened to arcade last year.
Then again I’m just guessing what ‘Neil’ means, I’m European and happy to be so.
