It’s been two months since we saw the “Tick-Tock” superstar slay the Rotterdam stage. And now Croatia’s very own Albina is getting all fired up for the summer with “La La Love”. The girl-power anthem is available to stream everywhere right now.
We caught up with Albina for a quick chat about the newest addition to her music catalogue.
Listen: “La La Love” — Albina
Not to be confused with Ivi Adamou’s or Eden Alene’s songs of the same name, Albina’s “La La Love” is a sultry summertime anthem complete with synth horns, a funky bassline and Spanish lyrics.
“It’s a type of female anthem”, Albina tells wiwibloggs. “It depicts different states of women’s character — one day you want someone by your side and the other you would rather dance alone — ‘bailar sola’. Women are often indecisive, but they always find their way to please themselves.”
And it’s that, a woman’s prerogative to act as she chooses, that inspired the overarching story of the song’s lyrics and music video. “The story revolves around women showing off their emotions”, Albina says. “And as the song goes on, the dynamics get stronger. At first we are gentle and soft, further on we are showing our crazy side. The colours in the music video are also reflecting that mood.”
But what about the Spanish lyrics? Well, it’s all about sex appeal.
“When I first heard this melody and rhythm, I immediately started thinking in the Spanish language”, Albina tells us. “I think it adds more sex appeal to the whole atmosphere of the song.” Multilingual queen!
Albina’s new track features the songwriting talents of Marko Mihaljević, Branimir Mihaljević and Max Cinnamon. Branimir and Max both worked with Albina on her Eurovision 2021 entry “Tick-Tock”. Albina herself is also credited with writing the song’s lyrics. The music video is directed by Luka Sepčić, with choreography from Helena Janjušević and production from Ana Badurina.

I love Albina but this Spannish regetton is becoming cliche and outdatted
The end of the ‘La La Love’ trilogy!
~ 1: La La Love – Ivi Adamou (Cyprus 2012)
~ 2: La La Love – Eden Alene (Israel NF 2021)
~ 3: La La Love – Albina (Separate Single)
