Ukraine’s Eurovision 2021 contestants Go_A are continuing to build on their recent success. Ukraine media are reporting that the group have signed to the major record label Universal Music Group. Go_A have also cleared up media rumours claiming that the group are releasing a collaboration with Eurovision winners Måneskin.

Ever since Go_A won Vidbir in 2020, the unique group acquired YUNA nominations, radio hits and performances at large Ukrainian festivals. The “SHUM” hitmakers are now adding major record deal to their names.

Ukrainian music microblog MUZVAR reported on their Instagram story that Go_A have signed a record deal with the major label Universal Music Group. The news was subsequently reposted on the Instagram story of @suspilne.eurovision, the official account of the UA:PBC delegation to Eurovision.

With Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish among its artists, Universal remains one of the biggest labels in the world. Perhaps for industry professionals, the deal won’t come as a big surprise. During and after the contest, Go_A’s music dominated Spotify charts all over the world.

Within the Ukrainian music industry, it’s very unusual that a band like Go_A has managed to sign itself to a major worldwide music label. In the country’s fast and lively music scene, most artists are signed to local Ukrainian labels or work as independents.

Go_A are not the first Eurovision 2021 act to sign a major record deal as a result of their contest success. Earlier, it was announced that Malta’s Destiny had signed a deal with Sony Music Sweden.

Go_A clear up rumours of collaboration with Måneskin

Go_A have previously talked about plans for collaborating with other artists from Eurovision 2021. During an interview at Atlas Weekend, frontwoman Kateryna Pavlenko told Suspilne that they are working on a demo with Australia’s Montaigne. Next to that, they are still in talks with Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears.

However, Go_A have confirmed there are currently no immediate plans for a release with Italian rockers Måneskin.

In recent weeks, it has been reported in Ukrainian and Italian media that the group are working on a track with Måneskin. However, Go_A frontwoman Kateryna cleared up the rumour in an interview with Ukraine TV host Katya Osadcha in the programme Svitske Zhyttya.

She said, “I don’t know where this information came from. Under the terms of the contract, I have no right to disclose details, but everyone needs to wait a bit because journalists are accelerating events too much.”

Last month, Kateryna told Ukraine media that the Måneskin rumour was “fake news that got out of control”.

However, when Osadcha asked if there might still be a collaboration later, Kateryna was reported to have smiled mysteriously and replied “Let’s wait and see”.

Oh, congratulations! They could add a little bit of rock and sure they can do it without the Maneskin. Be yourself.

BTW, the Go_A musicians are incredibly versatile and capable to play professionally even heavy metal – in the configuration “lead vocals (Kateryna) – guitar (Ivan or Taras) – bass (Ihor or Ivan) – drums (Taras or Ihor)”…

That’s why, they don’t need Maneskin otherwise people may think they’re not good enough.

It is wonderful especially considering the fact that nobody knew them in Ukraine (I am from here) before the selection. And a lot of Ukrainians did not believe a song in our language could be even in a final

Go_A also shows that you don’t have to *win* Eurovision in order to become famous

Maybe the Måneskin collab rumors came from this thread where they didn’t deny it? (Ngl, I believed the plans were legit too) https://twitter.com/_Go_A_/status/1397445836435509250
Either way, Go_A is awesome ?
