On the way to achieving one of Iceland’s best ever placings at Eurovision earlier this year, Daði Freyr and the Gagnamagnið released their very own mobile game. And now the group can add another video game-related highlight to their resume, as their 2020 hit “Think About Things” will appear on the global rhythm game Just Dance 2022.

The art style of the “Think About Things” Just Dance video is notable for the fact it features 3D models, a departure from the usual style of the game.

The player dances along with an elf, and the choreography uses the song’s unique instrumentals as inspiration for the dance moves.

“Think About Things” in Just Dance 2022

Just Dance is one of the largest videogame franchises currently. First published in 2009, it’s named after Lady Gaga’s well-known hit single, with a new version of the game coming out each year featuring new dance choreography. It includes some of the year’s most recent hits, along with all-time classics.

Daði & Gagnamagnið will join an exclusive group of Eurovision acts to be featured on Just Dance. Last year, Russian band Little Big took their prospective 2020 entry “Uno” to the 2021 iteration of the videogame.

The other Eurovision songs to have previously been included are all past winners of the contest: Netta’s 2018 smash hit “Toy”, Lena’s 2010 winner “Satellite”, and ABBA’s 1974 entry “Waterloo”.

“Think About Things” was set to be Daði & Gagnamagnið’s entry for Eurovision 2020, until the contest was cancelled as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite not appearing at the contest, the song still went viral across the globe, charted in several countries and featured on a number of television programmes. The song’s addition to Just Dance 2022 is another testament to it’s widespread popularity.

Notably, this is not Daði’s first foray in the videogame world. Recently, the group released their own mobile game, available on iOS and Android systems: Daði & Gagnamagnið: Think About Aliens. That fact, combined with the long lasting dance craze “Think About Things” originated, it’s no wonder why Just Dance opted to include this tune and this band on their repertoire.

Are you going to be dancing along to “Think About Things” with Just Dance 2022? Do you think the song’s enduring quality and dance hooks are an omen on how it might have fared at Eurovision? Shout it out below!

Love that an ESC song made it on Just Dance, though they could have preserved the original dance moves that we all fell in love with lol

I love this, although I am a little annoyed that it doesn’t use any of the song’s own iconic choreography.

I love it when ESC songs get added to Just Dance, it happens far too rarely 🙂
