Norway’s Eurovision 2019 superstars KEiiNO are back on Instagram with a new account after a bizarre hacking scandal.

The “Spirit in the Sky” hitmakers have at last resurfaced after photos from their original account were deleted and replaced with pictures of an unknown woman (and before that a series of other women and men, which seemed to change hourly at one point).

The trio consisting of Fred Buljo, Tom Hugo and Alexandra Rotan made their return to Instagram in time to promote their new single “Venus”.

Fred, Tom and Alexandra want all their fans to follow their new Instagram profile @keiinoband.

On their Instagram story, the trio said: “It feels so good to be back on Instagram. And we’re celebrating it by releasing a song tonight.”

KEiiNO’s new single “Venus” will hit streaming services at midnight CEST on Friday 29 October.

The former Melodi Grand Prix champions lost their original Instagram profile @keiinomusic when they fell victim to a hacking scandal. A hacker took over their account, deleted all of their photos and replaced them with pictures of a woman claiming to be a yoga teacher. They also reportedly sent direct messages to followers asking for money.

At the time of the hacking, Tom said: “We do not know who is behind this, but the person in question has sent out a number of messages to people, where it is encouraged to send money.  We hope no one does.”

He jokingly added: “It looks a bit witty now, with the lady. Maybe someone dislikes our new song ‘End Of Time’ which we released on Friday, and that they, therefore, want the end of KEiiNO.”

Tom continued: “We do not understand how this has happened, but now we have learned that we will not have the same password on several accounts.”

The band also temporarily lost access to Twitter, but soon claimed their profile back.

KEiiNO’s old profile had more than 30,000 followers. But this new profile has just over 3,000 followers at the time of writing. So, help our Norwegian faves out and give them a follow!

All of this comes with a valuable lesson: make sure your passwords are secure and always enable two-factor authentication.

Glad you are back again even if it’s with other account. I have Venus on repeat. It gives you great strength.

Instagram should delete their old account at some point, but it’s a long road to get that done. This type of criminality of the modern day is getting more common each year and companies have to improve their managing skills on helping others in this type of situations.
Let’s hope they get this sorted out!

so sad that they were targeted by some stupid Turkish homophobe (he was exposed later) but life goes on and i am glad they are back!!! Instagram is a powerful too for an independent act like KEIINO so it’s important to keep it running!

Everyone follow them and give their new single a listen! Also, you can order their deluxe edition of OKTA (debut album) which includes MONUMENT!

Plus, unfollow the old account…

It’s good he got exposed, so we know why he hacked their account. Although it’s sad to see that Turkish people are more and more aggressive against gays, even here on wiwibloggs some comments have been very awful lately.

Certain Efendi lovers expecially..

it is not back, the hacker is bringing back some old posts of Keiino just to confuse the followers. Keiino confirmed that the old account is not back and hence they decided to create a new one since Instagram is so freaking slow and bureacratic. How the Heck Instagram did not give their account back, it’s verified and they should have prioritised it?

Instagram’s customer service is literally nonexistent – I had an account that was over 7 years old which got locked out and I was unable to get any security codes sent to my email to help me get back in, I tried reaching out to them for help but got nowhere. The help center had no answers to my problem either. Like KEiiNO, I had no choice but to start over, but this time I enabled two-factor authentication. It seems that porno bots and Forex trading scams can get away with things scot-free when they are reported, but I lose… Read more »
