Spain’s Levi Díaz is nicknamed “the boy with the eternal smile”. The Spanish representative at Junior Eurovision 2021 has translated that positivity into his song “Reír“, with which he wants to start a revolution: making Europe happy again.

Spain in Junior Eurovision 2021: Levi Díaz with “Reír”
Spain has made a 180º turn from the longing and emotion of its Eurovision 2021 entry “Voy a quedarme”. Its Junior Eurovision is all about having fun, dancing, singing and, above all, laughing. That’s what “Reír” means – to laugh or to smile.
Levi Díaz was announced as Spain’s singer for Junior Eurovision 2021 in September. He’s the reigning The Voice Kids champion. During the TV talent show, he was known for his ability to sing heartfelt songs and power-ballads. His winning number was a rendition of The Greatest Showman’s “Never Enough“. His version of Sia’s “Alive” was also quite popular.
What do the “Reír” lyrics mean?
“Reír” wants to trigger a revolution across Europe. But fear not, this is not a “Hatrid mun sigra” scenario: Spain’s Junior Eurovision entry is all about making everyone let loose and feel happy.
During the song, Levi sings to the rhythm of many instruments from across the globe. As the song progresses, it adds more and more sounds in a musical “crescendo” that ends with Levi calling everyone to join him in the revolution.
“All together we will create a new world full of colours, a rollercoaster of emotions”, “Let’s go, you and me, we can make it if you believe that dreams will come true”, are some of the lyrics of “Reír”, which you can read below.

Spanish textVen, vamos hacia aquel lugar Ven nuestras voces se unirán Ya no sientas miedo Vamos a reír y bailar Volver a empezar ¡Vamos! Tú y yo Ven vamos hacia aquel lugar ¡Hey! ¡Tú! Ya no sientas miedo Vamos a reír y bailar Abre el alma y vuela ¡Vamos! Tú y yo |
English translationCome, let’s go to that place Come, our voices will join Fear no more We’re going to laugh and dance To start again Come on! You and me Let’s go to that place Hey! You! Fear no more Let’s laugh and dance Open your soul and fly Come on! You and me

it’s fine. but Poland, ukraine, and russia are better. maybe france as well, though france and spain are kinda on the same level
Better!? In what? They are all totally different that’s all, not better imo.
better in my opinion. thought that was fairly obvious.
I got it but I meant better in what in your opinion?
All the songs are good in their own way so far, they have all equal chances cause they are all talented enough for that, that’s why I think there are not better than others, it’s the main thing for children 😉
*”There is none better than others”
sorry, I try to ameliorate my english each days 🙂
Don’t be euphemistic. We all know not every single song can win, we know the chances they’ve got and we all can have an opinion as long as it’s respectful and polite, but realistic.
Man we are talking about Jesc, of course every single song can still win, why not? Why some more than others? Jesc is largely more unpredictable than Esc so that’s why they have all their chances and a good staging and/ or a very good vocal perf can change everything the d-day, I’m not euphemistic but realistic on that.
Mate, are you offended because of a stranger’s opinion?
Nope I just think about Levi reading this article about him and seeing that people are saying there’s better than him so clearly that he have less chances than others for ex, it’s pretty discouraging for somebody who has only 13 years old and who is on the point to compete, no? Moreover when it’s wrong, it’s not cool for children that’s all, so yeah I’m offended for that, I’m no more a child so me personally the stranger’s opinions I don’t care, the childs are more vulnerable and can be touched more easily and quickly it’s not so hard… Read more »
Lol, Poland is so overrated. Even Rafal had a better song than this girl.
Poland is so good in JESC tho
Great song and Levi is a great singer. Spain is so great with their Junior entry’s. I hope that Spain will sent a great song too next year in Italy
Great entry as always with Spain in jesc and among my favourites of this year for the trophy.! Good luck Levi, good luck Spain!
I love the fact that you want and try to developp a new festival used for your esc song selection but after all, all you need is just to have the same approach and put heart in the esc as you do for the jesc and you will be successful in the main contest (or we could say in “the adult contest” for Robyn 😉 )
i’ve loved spain’s last entries but this one falls flat for me and sounds generic and like a downgrade considering what spain has sent before. if marte wasn’t able to win, i don’t think this will either
Better late than never, I guess…
This is my winner so far. It’s such a good-feeling song
I maintain that it’s between France and Spain at the moment
Stay salty Poles
Man, Polish fans really don’t like people suggesting a country other than theirs could win, do they?
Do you get special notifications with locations of people that downvote your comments? Maybe some people do because you’re accusing them of being nasty?
They are potential winners imo too but they are not the only ones. It’s risky to talk about a France victory under an article about Spain in jesc as it would be under an article about Poland in jesc too. There are misplaced rivalries and childishness that shouldn’t exist, moreover when those reactions are due just because Valentina won last year. Look at your downvotes …. sad
Man that’s dumb. You guys gotta get over that one.
Yeah I agree and I’m the first against that but it’s the sad reality, what we can do against these trolls who have such a bad spirit that doesn’t reflect the real esc spirit at all, friendships, respect, fairplay are unknown words for them but hatred and toxicity they know that very well… the positive thing is they are only a very very small minority but more active than the others that’s why we see this toxicity everywhere, even here as you can see… so when you say “guys”, don’t put me with them, I have nothing to do with… Read more »
Spain is definitely a contender this year. It’s remarkable how much more consistent they are than they’ve been at the adult contest.
Wonder if a win would do for them what it did for France in terms of being more successful at the adult contest.
