As Melodifestivalen rumours season continues, a new act has been reported for the Swedish national final. Singer and reality TV star Lance Hedman has been named by Aftonbladet as being on board for Melodifestivalen 2o22.

Lance Hedman to compete at Melodifestivalen 2022

Lancelot “Lance” Hedman Graaf comes from a Swedish celebrity family. His mother is model and singer Magdalena Graaf, while his father is football icon Magnus Hedman. He has appeared in his mum’s reality TV series Systrarna Graaf (The Graaf Sisters), and also his own series Lance vs livet (Lance vs Life). In 2019, he placed third on Let’s Dance.

Earlier this year, Lance featured in the series Behandlingen (Treatment). On the show, Lance opened up about his struggles with substance abuse, including alcohol. The 21-year-old spoke about the importance of breaking taboos about addiction.

And now Lance is moving onto a new chapter of his life.  The young singer has already released dance music as part of the duo Lance & Linton, but with Melodifestivalen he will be making his solo debut.

Aftonbladet‘s source, who has heard the demo of Lance’s Mello entry, says, “This sounds completely different than what he has done before, and it’s a really good song. He will surprise TV viewers.”

Melodifestivalen 2022: What we know so far

The Melodifestivalen tour is set to return in 2022. Semi-finals are due to kick off in Malmö on 5 February 2022, with the grand final due to take place at its usual home at Friends Arena in Stockholm on 12 March. The shows — which will take place in six cities and towns around Sweden — will also have a live audience. Tickets are due to go on sale on 8 November.

Melfest 2022 will be hosted by Oscar Zia. The three-time Melodifestivalen contestant and one of the 2021 hosts will be the main show host this season, however he will also be joined by other stars, still to be named.

According to Aftonbladet, we already know six acts for Melodifestvialen 2022. They are Robin Bengtsson, Liamoo, Klara Hammarström, Alvaro Estrella, Angelino and Lance Hedman.

The confirmed line-up of Melodifestivalen 2022 is expected to be announced in late November.

What do you think? Which other artists would you like to see competing in Melfest 2022? Who should Sweden send to Turin? Tell us your thoughts below!

Not really on the subject, but Ace Wilder’s Wild Child is featured in the trailer for Netflix’s new animation Back to the Outback. So nice hearing it after like four years!

And greetings from Måneskin, who are also reality show alumni.

Why are you even on here? How about we all criticise your precious San Remo festival before we know anything about it? No wonder Swedes leave this once great site when miserable bitter people like yourself spread their toxicity everywhere. We dont need more hags on here, leave

precious? To make your point you shouldn’t attack Sanremo Festival. Melodifestivalen had great artists over the years, but at some point they started to select the entries with the same standard choice. Also if many people are bitter towards Sweden at Eurovision there are many reasons behind it. Over the years, many songs for different countries have been written and produced by Swedish producers, creating a sort of unbalance. Did you notice that the track list of the Eurovision film The story of fire saga is filled with music by Swedish musicians and Four out of 13 special appearances of… Read more »

Oh, anything can be attacked, even San Remo. It is not sacred.
She also should learn to listen to songs first and then judge, it might be good song. Otherwise she should learn to not say anything at all really. How do you think we feel every time she opens her mouth to spew crap over everything Swedish on here? But then again she is a miserable bitter hag with no valid opinions about anything so why give her space?

What makes you think Polegend is a woman? Also, please only take this as constructive criticism, but “hag” is a very sexist word and it’s probably better for your cause if you don’t use it.

Yes, his name is Lancelot. Poor guy. But the show about addiction is really sincere. They become really vulnerable and talk about very personal stuff while being isolated on an island as part of a treatment. Cannot be compared to other tv-shows. I have not much to say about his music. But I really recommend this show as something honest and sincere on tv.

I mean he had a tough life so far for sure (besides being kind of famous and rich already)…his dad had an addiction as well, his brother died falling from a balcony, Lancelot himself had an addiction problems, so people should not compare him to Benjamin Ingrosso. I would say he has more in common with Clara klingenström than Ingrosso to be honest…

Maybe read my comment once more. I deliberately did not mention what I think about him, because I just want to recommend watching that show. That’s is. Have nothing to say about his music. Just recommend watching that show. If you prefer not watching it, be my guest and move on with your evening. Cheers!
