Only one month ago, Elena Tsagrinou took to the dancefloor for the premiere episode of Dancing with the Stars Greece 2021. However, the Eurovision 2021 singer’s journey on the show was cut surprisingly short in the latest episode, after Elena became only the fourth contestant to be eliminated.
Eurovision 1977 alumna Bessy Argyraki remains in the competition.
Elena Tsagrinou eliminated from DWTS Greece
Elena had been performing consistently well through the first five weeks of the show, always landing in the top half of the leaderboard.
For week five of the competition, Cyprus’ Eurovision 2021 star danced a salsa alongside her professional partner Vladimir Morotsko. Wearing a pink dress with zebra-patterned detailing, Elena brought the Latin party spirit and plenty of spice to the routine.
Elena and Vladimir’s performance earned mixed reviews from the judges and the subsequent scores were a real spread. Whilst they received a score of nine and eight from two judges, they were given five and six from the other two. This total of 28 points out of a possible 40 still put the pair in the top half of the leaderboard – joint sixth with 13 couples still in the competition – and seemingly in a solid position.
Unfortunately, the public appeared to side with the latter two judges rather than the former. After the televotes had been counted, Elena and Vladimir found themselves with the lowest score and were eliminated from Dancing with the stars Greece.
Bessy Argyraki survives with a jive
Bessy Argyraki, who represented Greece at Eurovision 1977, has also had a rollercoaster journey on the show. The singer found herself in the bottom two during week three, but was ultimately declared safe. The following week, Bessy came back strongly and finished joint fourth on the leaderboard (alongside Elena).
During the latest episode of Dancing with the Stars Greece, Bessy performed a jive with her partner Juri Dimitrov. The pair’s scores from the judges were slightly more consistent (7,7,6,8), but they once again ended up tied with Elena and Vladimir on the leaderboard.
Thankfully, the public vote went better for Bessy and she was announced as safe. She’ll continue on in the competition as part of the remaining twelve couples.

Are you surprised to see Elena Tsagrinou eliminated so early on Dancing with the Stars Greece 2021? Which of her performances on the show did you enjoy the most? Let us know in the comments below!
Not surprised. Not enough hip action. Not enough Latin flair. Maybe they are still pissed she was in a relationship El Diablo.
In know the ESC-season haven’t started and that finding «news» is hard. I don’t mean to sound harsh: but is the elimination in Dancing With Stars of an artist who was competing in ESC 2,5 years ago really something very interesting? The wiwiblogs-team is doing a great job, I love what you write about new music from earlier ESC-artists! But that’s about music, not about a reality-show. (Ps: I just clicked on the article just to comment;)
I’m under the impression you’re confusing Tamta (Cyprus 2019) and Elena (Cyprus 2021)
I think he also refers to Bilal who competes in France.
I’m actually not a «he» 🙂 But if there are articles about Bilal being i Dancing With Stars I should also refer to that. Articles about «Stjernekamp» in Norway is by the way a little different in that the artists sing. But someone might argue that in ESC the artists dance as well:)
Of course:) But it doesn’t change my point:)
